Yep,,, you got that right,,, that's my forte,,,, quality before quantity,,,,, problem is, that now I have both and am kept quite busy. Guess I best keep my strength up, so that none will be disappointed.

whistled right out the window. Neither Don nor Eileen paid any attention to the now missing item, they were much too engrossed in each other and the driving that was being attempted. So much power under the hood and with the pedal to the metal those eight majestic cylinders chewed through that new load of fuel at a surprising rate. The missing envelope on the other hand, ended up on the street where the faithful law enforcement recruit.....

Hey,,, non at all,,, I'll just add some seefoam!

I'm sorry guys,,, like, real sorry, kind of,,,, I had really thought that with your wild imagination that a few words on the screen would conjure up all kinds of images, but it seems you have disappointed me yet once again,,,,,,, how long must I stay with you before you become self sufficient kind of,,,, meaning hey, such small use of the minds eye, even with such tremendous writing of meaningful words,,,, well here you go,,,,,,, pictures for ya. I noticed that I did embellish the former dialogue a little,,, seems I went for better quality than I had remembered, and used 3\8" nipples rather than copper, and then as I looked the final result I also noticed that I had put my lathe to good use to make brass collars for the bearings.

Guess your minds eye has quit working then???

Just for your info: dialectic grease is just that,,, doesn't transmit electricity,,, hope you put it on AFTER you made the connections.

Another thought is the steering. I found the Spyder with it's added bonus of power-assist steering was\is easier to steer than the trikes I had ridden, it's also more positive in the corners with the 2 wheels to do the work. Although I have never yet had the opportunity to test it out, if the front should leave the pavement, Nanny will shut down the power plant until all is equal again. Now on a trike that would also happen to some degree should a rear wheel un-contact, for all the drive force would then go to the loose wheel and the trike would slow off and bring the wheel back down, but if the rider did not respond quick enough, and cut the throttle, that spinning wheel would hit the pavement under very high speed and possibly some decent power, which conceivably could flip the trike back up and over. Now this is all hypothetical, and I wouldn't hold it against the trike or for the Spyder, but it's a thought.

In order to balance a rear Spyder tire the shaft has to be under 1". With a shaft that size the tire is too heavy and will drop the shaft,, so I built my own, personal, homemade contraption, and it worked like a charm. A piece of 3\8 threaded rod, two small bearings, some nuts and spacers and 2 workmates. Cost ended up less than a balance of the tire. Rod I had, bearings were too cheap to charge for, washers were available in my drawer, spacers were 1\2' copper, and the nuts were located at the Local Home Hardware, and they needed the money. 'course I could have used 4 Venture Riders for the nuts, but to get them to agree on anything as important as spinning a wheel could take all day, a box of beer, more stuff on the grill, a dozen toilet flushings, and patches of dead grass,,,,, and it would have cut into my riding time,,, so I elected to buy the nuts.

So you did did ya, well iffin I was you I would keep that under me 'at, for there is one other crazy Canuck,,, much crazier than I am , so crazy in fact that he would leave 'isss scoot sitting, all forlorn like, on the bordeer, as I was saying as if you weern't listening,,, he maybeee the one you need to get into competition wit. If my meeemory would serve me on the correctly side, I was the one whos started all this years ago,,,,,, 'ow many years is tooo mannies tos count, but accoerding to folk lore the moons waned deep into 'istory. The other Cancuck would be much more to your league and stature and maybe somebody u could competer wit. Iffen you wants to keep up wit me, best 'ave ur 'eart in good running condition, well oiled and greased up, with no breaking power attached. You may yet catch me though, but I wouldn't live long enough for you to tell me about it,,, not that I plan to leave anytime soon,,, but you never know eh?

beg, borrow or steal a 12ga, after all there had to be an easier way to insert that slime stuff rather than going by instructions,,, and it takes time to read instructions so best to dispense with them as usual, with the added benefit that once the slime was loaded into it's projectileasium it would be so much fun to watch as a certain individual was discovered totally covered with what looked like...

I'm not just to sure what you would mean by 'electric personality' so I won't comment on that,,, could be, just maybe that I would get me self into some serious kaka if I did comment, but the steel thing does juggle some inside thoughts, and I'm not sure if I should share them presently.

Only if somebody lets the smoke out of them wires,, other than that it just gets HOT!!!

and a flaming orange Spyder. The Spyder rider looked over and noticed that somebody in a Chevy was being accosted by the local constabulary and so decided that it was time to add a distraction. So off he went, first dong a full burnout in the clockwise direction and after he had the rear tire warmed to his liking he stood the steed up on it's hind end, just to show how disgruntled he was over the action of the suited officer. When he had the full attention of the said individual, he let loose with another round of screaming tires and headed..

a grand time to get back into enforcing the law. After all, he had been put out to pasture for far too long and the desire to have it over somebody else overcame him,,, and he was on a blue 1st gen after all, and it was just itching to be ridden under full pressure. Didn't matter much to the newly installed officer that his legs were still some painful and that his memory recollected the last time a guardrail caught him,,,, his bike was blue and faster than the white machine in his sights,, and so the chase was on, the Avalanche was running low on gas, it rear tires screaming under the duress delivered by an overpowered, fuel injected, 8 cylinder power plant of gigantic proportions, and the blue Venture trying it's best to weave it's way through the blue smoke left in it's wake. It wasn't long though, before

Depends, depends and then again, it depends. On: What kind of trike you plan to add to the Venture. Now you do get to keep most of your Venture, so your seating is the same, leg position is the same, handle bars stay where they are, lighting is not much different and the list goes on. The Spyder will give you a different seating position, handle bars are different etc etc, and the leg position isn't as flexible. Passenger has about the same amount of room, trunk space is about equal but more usable on the Venture I think. With all that kind of in a nut shell, I'd go for the Venture trike. BUT!!!!! If it's the ride you're looking for,,, give me the Spyder!!:happy65: Hands down, it has the trike beat 10 to 1. To be totally open about things, I only spent about 1 hour riding trikes, so maybe my assumption is a bit assumptionous, but I love my Spyder. Took a few miles to get used to it and it wasn't til I hit around 6-8k km, that I could say: Wow, I love this machine. Even have an 84Vr in the barn right now, and have no real interest in riding it,,, because if I were to take it out, it would mean that the Spyder would be staying put,,, and then I would not have had the joy of riding it again.

the plans for an all new, redesigned motorcycle coined the Venturing II. At seeing what it was that she happened upon and not wanting to disclose anything so valuable nor did she want to be seen as one who peeks into the affairs of others, she quickly resealed the envelope as best she could and then proceeded to hide it close to her

Ya, a loose belt will give vibrations at certain speeds, but a bounce comes from the wheels. Belt should run between 200 and 250 lbs as measured with a Krikit. I also use a belt tensioner to lessen the vibration that come from the long run on the belt. Saves on bearings and belt wear.

find itself to a Venture. The tie straps were stretched to the limit, the trailer hitch strained to keep the trailer from dropping off, and the Harley wondered if

Finally got it right. Left the front as it was and installed a new rear tire, this one is a Falken, not that it matters I don't think. Bought it at a car tire shop, and went one size narrower, but just as tall as the OEM Kenda. Dealership couldn't balance the tire so I took it to a MC dealer to balance. As I watched the young man attempt the procedure I noticed that the wheel and tire were too heavy for the machine and so made the shaft wobble,,,, well that won't do anything for a balance and he agreed,,, koddos for him. As they had the same balancer as most other shops I have seen, I got to thinking that maybe, just maybe I really never had this roller truly balanced before, so I took it home and made my very own balance set-up. It took a while, but in the end I had a balanced tire,,,, nice difference,,, but didn't entirely solve the problem just yet. Mostly though, it ran nice and smooth with the occasional vibration now and then. So, seeing as it wasn't constant,,,, as indicated before, an out of balance would be there all the time, I decided that I needed to do another Brenner on the front, and seeing as I had now determined that the right front was more errant then the left, I gave that tie-rod one half turn to stretch it out some. PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!! Thanks for all your help and input,,, and I am now set up to get this right for others.

Front axle collar problem
Marcarl replied to meach's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I would be looking at a bent axle, or possibly on a far out chance that the axle was not torqued to spec. As mentioned, when you torque the axle it squeezes the outer spacers, bearing inner races, and the collar together to form one supposedly solid shaft from side to side, leaving the wheel free to rotate on the bearings. Tolerances are quite tight, so a bend in the axle would through things out of line to cause some trouble. I can't see the collar bending, and I would think if that cast aluminum wheel were to pretend to bend, it would crack,,,, but stranger things have happened. The axle is steel and will bend,, so I would check that first. If you have a lathe, stick it in there and give it a spin. -
My 85 did that once. It was after I let my 6'4, 250lb nephew take it for a ride. We usually did this every year at our family get-together. Did I say he has a size 14 shoe and a foot to fit it? Well he admitted that he couldn't find first and so jammed the pedal down a bit harder. Don't remember if it helped him at all, but it sure got me confused. He bent the rod that's behind the middle gear cover. I got behind the cover with a crow bar and managed to get it straight again. You might have the same issue and to compound it all, somebody might have adjusted the pedal to compensate. The link behind the cover should be straight, and the pedal should be set according to the mark on the shaft.
