  1. Agreed!!! and stay away from bread!!!!
  2. You know the rule at MD,,,,, bring your own TP!!!!!!!!!!
  3. You can find lots of articles on bleeding a clutch, it's a very pesky issue, I could try to find one for you, but it is better that you spend some time browsing here, that way you'll lots more interesting stuff,,, and,,,, I won't have to type all morning. The bolt at the bottom of the middle gear cover is the one at the lower end of the gear cover holding the gear cover to the engine case, sorry about the confusion. You may also have a leaky clutch slave cylinder. It's located back in, between the stator cover and the middle gear cover and it's hidden until you take the covers off. If it's leaking and has left a spot on the floor, the easy way to determine that is to take some water and wash the spot. If it's oil it will stay, if it's brake fluid it will wash away, or you can put some on the tip of your tongue and if it's sweet it's brake fluid, but that is poisonous so not recommended. If it's brake fluid you have a leaky slave and it will need to be replaced. I won't say how much fun that will be.
  4. Unless it's dirt and will wash off,,,,,, what I suppose that I'm looking at is the clearcoat bubbled, so a quick guess was that the handle bars were turned and the master took a leak.
  5. Hi and Welcome The cover you have in the picture is not the clutch cover, that is on the right side, so the other side. What you have pictured is the 'stator\starter clutch' cover. The smaller cover to the rear is the middle gear cover and at the bottom of that cover, in the center is the 'leaky' bolt that is usually referred to. The bolt you have indicated does not normally have a leaking issue. I would look a bit higher to see if the leak is from a valve cover gasket, that would be more common. The bolt in question I believe holds the engine case halves together and might leak if not tight enough. No harm to take it out and check to make sure all is well under it. A no clutch issue when hot indicates air in the clutch line and it's not all that easy to get rid of. Reverse bleeding can often help with that, but first bleed it normally to make sure you have all fresh fluid in the system and got as much dirt out as possible.
  6. So I was talking to Allan this evening and he made a good point. Decide what it is that you want this building to do for you. If it is more than 30 years useage then maybe spend some money, but if it's in the 20 years range, throw a new piece of tarp over top and call it a day. Tarps can last for well over 20 years, and somehow i think you might be doing something different by that time.

  8. Just remember boys, that Fool can only do with what's handed him, he can point and shoot and he can increase or decrease, but he can't do a darn thing about what's handed to him, that's up the the Canucks with Saddlebum in charge,,, and let me tell you, we got more cold to get rid of before summer or summer will be as cool as a cat!!! Now we don't want that do we???? so let the Bum work it out. He's doing just fine in my opinion, we got the temp up to the mid-teens so far. Maybe a bit more to go but that will take a while. Come spring we'll shoot the hog!!!
  9. Ahhh yes! just having that vision in my head is bad enough, Cowpuc squatting,,,,, no I think it's still a motel for me!!
  10. Yah,,,, but,,,,, long hairs on your ankles might not convince possible perpetrators.
  11. Nah, we won't be doing that, he's done an amazing job keeping that machine of his running like a fine tuned sewing machine. That there white stuff spells MONEY!!! and for some folks that smells REAL good. It goes both ways though, I admit, maybe I'll just have to let him know how nice the transfer is having things go out of one pocket into another. Sure does look pretty EH!!!??? but maybe only if you are Canadian.
  12. Yep sure is!!! and that just fine, no issue!!! it's just, now that I'm retired I'm almost ready to go already,,, guess I'll just have to wait, and wait, and wait and then wait some more. Is it time yet????
  13. GREAT!!!! now what do I do???
  14. The updates will be interesting for sure.
  15. SEEEEE? what I told ya? I just knew it!!! Now you have Saddlebum imagining things he knows very little about,,,, and you know where that's going to go!!!
  16. Nice to have friends like that, now find one with a Spyder.
  17. Nobody ever told about this, could you expand upon this a little before our imaginations run wild?
  18. Nice going, thanks for the thoughts. Now this doesn't even take into account the distance traveled while reaction is taking place, the red car could well cover half the distance while it reacts, which would put crash speed at much more than 71, and although the results may not make any difference in the livelihood of the occupants, it does bring to the foreground the increased stopping distance needed at higher speeds. An eye opener for sure!!!
  19. Wires actually look like they are dry enough not to be the area of leakage. I think what you're pointing out as a drill hole is somebody trying to stake that bearing in place, and it looks like they had the works apart and did more staking. First time around, at the plant, things look neat but after having to repeat a couple of times it gets a bit scary looking. Can't see anything that would cause harm at this point. I see oil results, but can't see where it originates. I would clean things up real well with brake clean and then progress from there. Hasn't been very often that I've heard of the seal behind the slave leaking, it's actually pretty well put together, thank goodness, because they are a bit of a pain to change.
  20. Thanks for sharing, wonderful
  21. That will make it leak a little. First thing I would change.
  22. .Push Lever Seal Kit 26H-W0098-00-00 $24.49
  23. Now if you put the yellow one on the left, does it spark? If not I would suspect a broken yellow wire.
  24. You do not have to drain the oil, should be good.
