  1. Im in Shelby Co, Happens around here all the time. Sad that folks dont care. This situation can send a car off the road. I too have spoken to folks and they dont seem to see the issue and will swear it's not against the law..
  2. Bought my 06" RSTD with 6700 miles on it and sitting for over 2 years, in garage. That was Sept. of 2017. The carbs were full of like a green crystal something. had to rebuild and re -jet. after that, fresh oil, plugs and AF's...runs like a champ. Now have just under 15g on the odometer. Fantastic bike.
  3. I ordered a full seat and back rest for my RSTD. Had to do a little fitting on the seat mount but with that, I love it. Almost a grand but well worth it. Very comfortable and even my better half says it is more comfortable...
  4. It is well worth the money and so simple to install. It seemed like a smart move to me.
  5. Brothers and Sisters, I offers Prayers and Thanks to all of us who served Uncle Sam and those who do still. God Bless you all and lets all remember those Brothers and Sisters who made that ultimate sacrifice for us. They will for ever live in the Patriots Heart.. Semper Fi!!:usa:
  6. easy folks easy..I said it was a contemplation... It os in great shape as you can see. does need work on suspension. He gave me a new starter, stator and reg/rect. so I have a job ahead there. Havent gotten into it yet. will start if I have a charger on it. so we;ll see it what it looks like when I start taking it down. I am most appreciative to Katoomer for this give away.. I will do justice to it.. Will make updates as I proceed. But gotta get my winter work done on that pearl RSTD... Never know when a ride day might pop up in the Ohio Valley..
  7. This is the bike katoomer gave away. new parts and all. Thank you Mark this should be a great project. Was surprised no one had beat me to the pucnh Have not decided to leave her a dresser or if she'll become a Rat Bike. I have been wanting something to tinker with for a while. Working on getting all the lights for my '06 TD converted to LED. Then my time devoted to this. Its in awful good shape to strip her down to a bobber but the old head is a reelin.. BTW, dont pay any attention to the remnants of my fathers passing..Im still going thru that mess..lol .
  8. Hey Don, you mentioned in the thread custom dynamics that you had to have 2 of the load stabilizers. I ordered all 4 dynamic clusters from them on phone. was sold a diode kit and a stabilizer. they never mentioned 2 of them on the phone. why would I need 2 stabilizers? or is that specifically if you do one end at a time? was told need diode kit because only a singal indicator for turns in dash... any thoughts would be apprciated if you are still around.
  9. Realize this is an older thread, but I contacted Mustang and was told they do not make seats for the RSTD any longer. Went to Corbin and ordered the dual tour with the back rest pad. ///expensive/// was assured I would love this seat for the long haul. Cabt wait to get this two tone bomber. for my pearl bike.
  10. I know im late to the game but these are what I put on my LA Choppers. https://www.jpcycles.com/product/4400200/chrome-allen-type-exhaust-clamps

    06 RSTD Pearl

  12. I bought THE carb sync tool and have ordered for delivery any day the colortune tools to use on my 06 RSTD. It is not at all difficult as I first thought. Even if I only need to do this once per season, I will save several hundred dollars over the life of the bike. That said, I have had no problems with the start or ignition switch so far, but I do plan to do the switch bypass to relieve some of the load.. More so because I plan to add some lighting and a sound system.
  13. I have read threads here and on some other sites for RS and RSV that you can remove the first 2 baffle plates w/o jetting...I cannot say for sure because I completely gutted my stocks and I had to change the pilots. So not being a true bike tech, I went up one size on the mains and the pilots. That may not have been necessary in hind sight. I may have been fine by doing only the pilots.. I will say If you remove the rear cone, then drill first plate with 2-3/4 hole saw and work out a tube by wobbling around til the welds broke. I used a heavy dowel. You might like the tone you get. If not then you can buy a drill extension and punch a few holes in the second plate... But from that point some carb will need to be done...likely. I went all the way to removing the third plate so my pipes were completely open. Now there is a resonator built in at that level..between third plate and inlet, but it will only stop the pipes from ringing.... From my stand point now, I would recommend you just break down and buy some pipes. I wound up with LA Choppers and I put one wrap of insulation around the baffles.. Deep throaty tone w/o headache levels.. You might even try just removing the cone and drill 4 or 5, 1/2" holes in the first plate. That too, made a pretty decent tone. Probably wouldn't have to do any other work.. But you are gonna loose the tips, if you dig that look..
  14. And btw, the picture of baffles is nothing like my '06 pipes. There was 3 plates inside mine not counting the end cone where the tips mounted..
  15. I did that very thing to my stockers on '06. There are 3 a little harder than just a hole saw tho.. If I had stopped at 2 i probably would have been ok. Just remember you cannot put the stock tips back on...I liked the look of the stock muffs but they got way to loud for me. I put together homemade baffles with wire mesh and packing but couldnt get them to stay together. I wound up buying a set of LA choppers for RSTD then pulled the baffle and wrapped 1 layer of packing and reinstalling...I love its tone but you will need to do some carb work afterwards.
