  2. Jim, Did you bring that XS11 home????? Earl
  3. I bought my first Venture in 1990. It is an 86 and had 15,000 miles on it, it now has 130,000 miles. I have not had tags and ins on it for several years now. I keep saying this winter I am going to get it back road ready. 23 years I bought my second venture in 2003. It was a 2000 mm with just over 4,000 miles on it and I sold it in 09 with 88, 000 miles. I bought my third venture in 09. It was a 07 RSV with 14,000 miles and has 63,000miles on it now. They are all great bikes Earl
  4. Hey, Okay, at the bottom of most forum pages is a CONTACT US link, that will send an email to ME at forumadminxs11@hotmail.com , he just needs to include what USERNAME and tmp pswd he wants to use, along with the year/model/style of his bike, and I'll create the account and then email him back when it's ready, usually in just 1 day. Then he'll be able to log in with his own username and post, etc.. T.C.
  5. Glad you were able to close the deal and trust it will all work out. I hope you will check out the XS11.com site. I have been a member over there for about two years and have attended three of their rallies. They have had their SE Rally at the Iron Horse MC Lodge for the last two years and it will be there again next year. There were twenty + XSs there and most were ridden in, from out of state, Ca, Ok, Oh, Pa, and one from Canada. There were a couple specials there like yours. Earl
  6. That looks like one nice XS1100 and I see it still has the center stand on it. Earl
  7. More prayers doing up!! Earl
  8. The Kerker 4 into 1 exhaust is one of the best after market exhaust for an XS, but nothing is better than the stock exhaust for all around performance. With some of the 4 into 1 system you had to remove the center stand. Earl
  9. They are great bikes. I have two 81s and two 80s. Two with titles and to are parts bikes. My son-law has an 80 Special that is his daily rider. This winter I hope to get one of the 81s back on the road. There is still a lot of parts on ebay and the XS11.com site has great info if you need help. The Special is geared low for Interstate, but it will live out there. Twenty years ago I rode my XS11 to St Louis and back. The first day I rode to Nashville Tn., 650 miles. 1500.00 is not a bad price if it is ready to ride. Earl
  10. Getting old is not for wimps, I pray that we all get that way gracefully. Earl
  11. Prayers going up for David and family and thank him for his service. Earl

  13. We were honored to fellowship you and Annie. I trust we will be able to do it again soon. I hope your return trip home goes well. Earl Debra
  14. It should still be under warranty, if you have a good dealer. Earl
  15. I had # 482, it had 88K when I sold it. The last info I have on it it had 114K miles and that was a couple years ago. Earl
  16. Prayers going up my friend. Earl
  17. Prayers going up. Earl
  18. Good to see you again Tom. Earl
  19. The left rear wheel bearing inner race will come out. Remove it and check for wear and grease it. Earl
  20. Cool picture.. Earl
  21. We can feel your excitement. I know you will enjoy many miles of fun on this bike. The clutch should be a fairly easy fix. I hope we will get to ride together one of these days. Earl
  22. Thanks for sharing the pictures. I like the XS and XJ Yamaha from the pass. I am getting together all the parts I need to get my 81 XS1100 back on the road. I hope to have it back on the road by the end of the year. Earl
  23. If it runs as good as it looks, you did good. Earl
