  1. I spent a lot of time on the roofs of some factories and plants around here for 13 years, really liked the work. Unfortunately the owners in their later years were more concerned with profit over quality work so I moved on. Too much pride in craftsmanship to do cheap work.
  2. I like to make fun of the Yankees in early spring and late fall about our extended riding season so I guess I deserve that. 🤬🤬🤬
  3. Been there. I left the HVAC trade 19 years ago, I miss the work we did but not the weather we did it in.
  4. Last I knew Earl was putting his kit back together after the post office scattered the shims. He’s been down with some surgery, I’m betting he’ll be around soon with another update.
  5. 1963 is older than me but I can’t imagine wanting to live in that. We may have our 90% humidity and 100*+ summer days but you can keep the snow and hard freezes. Not to mention our 9 to 10 month riding season. When it’s too hot to ride I can go fishing.
  6. We’ve got that coming too. Single digits and 12*-15* below zero. Not normal for our area.
  7. I think you Northerners done went and broke your weather. It’s down here in my yard, all ice with what we consider heavy snow coming (up to 8 inches). I would greatly appreciate it if you’d come and get it.
  8. @Marcarl nailed it. We’ve done the 3day trips with just the saddlebags and trunk ok, longer trips I want more tools, cooler, leathers, rain gear, snacks etc, etc. The trailer is one of my best purchases, as we get older theres cpap machines, meds, and other necessities. On the other hand. watch @cowpuc and his videos, nobody packs a bike better for two people and weeks of travel.
  9. Y’all feel free to keep that mess up there. Cool, windy, and wet here. Weatherman says 45 and sunny Wednesday, I hope to get the boat on the water and catch some catfish.
  10. Scroll up Carl.
  11. Prayers up.
  12. One good thing about it, no matter which method you use you’ll be the first to know if it isn’t set right. In my case it was at 90 on the interstate.
  13. Condolences to the family. I never got to meet Kevin but like many more I learned from him on more than one occasion.
  14. Thanks y’all. We had a nice sunny day for the grave side funeral and 8 grandsons to carry her to her resting place. She’s much better off now.
  15. I read right across it. Now thanks to you I have an image burned into my brain I could’ve done without. 😩😩😩
  16. Only if you remove the belt. It’ll spin the tranny same as the shaft.
  17. I don’t have a 3rd Gen but 1st &2nd gen both say to not tow with wheel on the ground. The transmission isn’t lubricated correctly without the engine running. The forces of acceleration and hard braking are also transmitted up the forks and neck, not something that excites me.
  18. Yeah I know this is off topic but a question for all y’all in the area. Watching the Science Channel I just saw the story of the Kinzua Bridge collapse, we like to see historic sites and are considering detouring over to see it. 300’ high and a glass floor is something right up my alley, my wife not so much. Anybody up there have opinions on taking time to see the park and are there other attractions nearby?
  19. After reading more of this I stopped by and grabbed another Gock 48 while the getting is good. $400 including tax.
  20. I think you’ll find some in “poor mans tips” and 1st gen tech. May take a little searching. There are some really good ideas scattered around. I haven’t had to do much plastic work so hopefully a few of the gurus will chime in.
  21. Several posts regarding this. Search in the library. It’s ABS plastic, you can make a putty with ABS and MEK for patching, I used ABS sheet and ABS plumbing glue to fix a broken saddlebag. There are commercial products available Plastex being one. Fiberglass really isn’t the answer.
  22. Not on topic but Hey Kybronco, not many of us bluegrassers on here. I’m at the west end of the state but have a daughter at UK Med school closer to ya.
  23. The fight is over, Mom passed peacefully in her sleep 4:30 a.m. this morning.
