The wife hasn’t been on the bike since my surgery, gonna try it soon to make a decision about whether to go to Vogel this year. 150 miles has been my longest ride since being back on it.

You can always change it out in the back yard of the air bnb at 1:00 a.m. right? 🤣🤣🤣

Congratulations. I did one in 2019, started and ended at a gas station 8 miles from home so 16 miles farther than the GPS showed. Never did send in the paperwork since the patch didn’t interest me since I don’t wear a vest. I was recovering from shoulder surgery and bored out of my mind not working so as soon as the therapist said I could ride I really rode. Probably the first and last time, I have done some 850 mile days since then.

I’ve got 90k miles on the OEM and counting. If it fries I figure one more OEM will last the rest of my life, small investment for that many miles.

I can supply you with an 86 if you want to try it. 🤣

Did you get to see our Murray State Racers in Omaha this week? Little school making some big waves in college baseball.

Have the carbs been synched? It will cause a vibration under load if they’re unequal.

You would hear the relay if it was the starter. Possibilities off the top of my head: do you have an ignition bypass installed? Check that relay if so. ignition switch, sidestand switch, cables/wire connection clean and tight at the starter relay and battery.

I scored a new one from Partzilla last year but I don’t think they have them anymore. Upholsterer probably the best bet now.

Carb cleaning, check tank for rust, check/flush all fluids at a minimum. It all depends on the price and how much work you’re willing to do. Check date codes on the tires.

Congratulations. Life will never be the same but it’s in a good way. My babies are 30 and 23.

Not from the factory. Previous owner may have added a vacuum petcock.

Not a lot you can do to the sound system without butchering bodywork due to space limitations. Polk D404 speakers fit fairly easily in place of OEM. A lot of us add a Bluetooth receiver in the front fairing plugged into a “Y” at the cassette box. This keeps the original controller working. Welcome to the circus here.

Too many options and arguments for each. Park in or out of gear, kill switch vs kickstand vs ignition, which oil, which filter, which tires, blah blah blah.😁😁😁🤪🤪 Why you talking trailers, you’re bike broke?😛 I just need to find the time to ride more.

@videoarizona Glad I could help. People ask me how I have friends in so many states and Canada, it’s all because of VR. It took a few minutes to wrap my head around what was going on and had to go mess with my bike to see what lights lit at start. I always park in 1st and kill the bike with the kickstand and really don’t look at the dash at startup.

The bikes sold in the U.S. have a standard printed speed above the digital screen. I’m unaware of a way to change the digital display other than changing out the whole cluster.
