  2. Thanks for checking in Annie, so sorry to hear of all the health issues you are dealing with, but certainly understand family comes first. Its great you have the time to help them when they need it, be sure to take care of yourself as well! Craig
  3. IF you are happy with his work, I think that price was more then fair. I have an excellent mech. that I have used for years, but he is not nearly as reasonable, I still feel he is worth it. Craig
  4. I was wondering how many guys it took you to set it up!!
  5. So very sorry to hear this Don, will keep you and your family in our thoughts at this difficult time. Hopefully you have many great memories to help you through this... Take care, Craig
  6. Looks like it was well cared for! Great find!! Craig
  7. Put 20% of your pay in the bank, when tax time comes your covered. Also keep records of all travel and expenses, mite be a good time to sell any stocks you took a hit on. When you have more income, ya need more deductions. Craig
  8. Heal fast Pucmeister, listen to the Docs and Tippy Too! One finger typing is no excuse, all I have used for years:thumbsup2: Craig
  9. Happy Birthday Skid!!!! I hate to see how that whole retirement thing is really ageing you... You really look bad in all those pics at the beach... Enjoy your day!!! Craig
  10. Yep back in 85 there were 4 "muscle cruisers" and I took them all out for a test ride, being vertically challenged the Maddie just fit me best. The Vmax was awesome but very histrung when that vboost kicked in. The one I rode kept jumping out of second, so I passed on it. Then the V65 Magna, nice bike but not quite the one. Then I took out the Kawasaki Eliminator 1000cc inline 4, real screamer in a straight line but didnt want to corner. The Maddie is quick, handles great, as you said comfortable to ride and bullet proof, I have 60k on her, and I start and run her regularly. Great around town bike, and was an awesome barhopper till I quit drinkin! They dont have the plug failure in the secondary, but you do need to check that fluid everytime I change oil. When we were at the NY ralley last year, the owner of the dealership that sponsers it, took me back in one of his storage sheds to show me his Calvalcade in very nice shape. If you come across one at a good price grab it, there is an active forum and most parts are still avail if you look. Hydraulic valve adjusters no need to check valves. Craig Craig
  11. Yep Puc, I know exactly what you mean, I bought that 700's big sister back in 1985 brand new rite off the showroom floor GV1200 Madura and I still have her out in the garage and she still runs like a top. Has no problem at all getting up on the back wheel even at 31yrs old!! I know, I know I need to get some pics!! Craig
  12. Hey PucMeister, do you still have the 700 Madura? Looks like it was a nice one! Craig
  13. Sticky Notes are your friend!! I have them everywhere! Only way I can remember anything is to write it down. Craig
  14. I guess I am looking at it differently? I would never "gamble" that everything was going to work out just fine, while my 6yr old son was flying down the road on a 600 lb bike in his shorts and t-shirt. Maybe everything will work out fine, but I would never take that risk with his life. It bothers me to take my grandkids 12 and 14 for rides, I am over cautious at all times because I know how quickly something can happen and how seriously they can be hurt and they are way too young to realize the danger they are in. I would not be able to live with myself if something went wrong. I agree with you Jonas, nothing cool about "cool Dad" I also remember the incident with the kid and the UZI, another "gamble" that went horribly wrong. Craig
  15. RIP Jonesy, I hope you are freakin riding pain free and knees in the breeze. Really going to miss our talks... Craig
  16. Sad to report Jonesy has passed away. So very sad to hear this news! I'm in shock and heartbroken! Jonesy was always so kind to me in the time I've known him. Please accept my heartfelt condolences! Jonesy and family are in my thoughts and prayers! Attached Images Leo (Jeannette) 09 RSV Black on Red with Hannigan trike conversion
  17. Very sorry to hear this, Jonesy was a great guy! He would go out of his way to help in any way he could. Want to offer our condolences to Linda and his family, he will be missed... All the best at this difficult time, Craig
  18. If it was lowered with the Barrons kit, the rear brake caliper will be relocated under the axle with a triangular plate. Craig
  19. Thanks again for all you do Don, wondering if it wouldnt be easier to just add new photos to tech articles as they are requested/needed. When someone has a question or needs a pic. I am sure someone can help them and upload a new pic. Hate to see you have to spend hrs and hrs to redo all the pics. I recently had a question and couldnt find pics, I contacted Ragtop and he was kind enough to send me pics and all the help I needed. Craig
  20. Its looking great Eck, bet you cant wait for your first ride! Craig
  21. Happy Birthday!! Way to much snow around here to think about cutting grass yet. When I turned Sixty I bought myself an ExMark Zero turn, I wish I would have done it 10yrs sooner, it actually makes cutting grass fun! Craig
  22. I think next time you need to turn up the heat in the room! Was dealing with some serious "shrinkage" couldnt stay long...
  23. I think 5 yrs on a bike battery is pretty good, I wouldnt expect it to last much longer then that. We do put our bikes up for the winter here so maybe long periods of just sitting shorten their lives. On a side note my work truck a 2005 gmc 3500 still has the original battery and starts effortlessly on 10F days, thats 11yrs and still going strong. The deka plant is rite up the road from me and probably one of our areas largest employers. Craig
