Hey Yammer dan, Still considering a trike?
cecdoo replied to Motorcycle Mike's topic in Watering Hole
Well, I am the new owner of a Blue Trike, the front lower is busted thats why it looks funny in the pics, they are replacing it with new. They also put a new front tire on it and changed out all fluids and gave it a safety inspection? It does have the EZ Steer and aux. fuel tank, also full cover. Now to figure out how to pick it up?? Big Thanks to Dave and Robin for going over and checking it out, gotta love this family!! Craig -

Will do, If its as nice as the dealer says it is, I am going to grab it. Figure I will keep my 06 till I have had the chance to figure out if I am going to like 3 wheels or not. If I dont like it, dont think I will lose alot? Thanks, Craig -

Put the new oem pump in this morning, easy job! Took her for a spin, seems to be running fine. Boxed up the old pump and I will get to the post office on Monday, keep an eye out for it Bubber should be there next week. Craig

Actually I went out this morning and tried her again and she fired rite up after pump happily "clicked" for 5 seconds? So did the points just freeze in an awkward spot and now they will be good for awhile, or is it going to be a recurring problem thats going to leave me sit sooner then later? Anyone have one act like this? and keep working fine afterwards? Thanks, Craig

Thanks for the info, I am going to just replace the whole pump, for whatever reason I just feel more confident with a whole new pump. I will gladly ship my old one off to you, just pm me your contact info/addy and I will get it off as soon as my new one comes in. Thanks, Craig

It was a beautiful nite last nite, so I thought I would roll the Venture out and go for a nice ride. Pulled the choke, hit the starter and she fired rite up but sounded like she was only hitting on 2 cyl. tried to give her alittle gas and she died. After repeating that around 50 times???? I rolled her back in and rolled out the Madura, 30yrs old and she fired rite up. Almost forgot how much fun it is to ride that bike. Anyhow after doing a quick search on the site I see same thing has happened to other folks and it turned out to be the fuel pump, so I ordered a new one from Yamaha, hopefully it lasts another 9yrs and 60k miles. I gues the one good thing is it died in the garage and not up in NY or on the way home from there. I have another Millineum sitting in the garage, just mite steal the fuel pump off that one to use until mine gets here, wonder if Millies owner will mind? So Thanks to Don and everyone who contributes to this family for making it a snap to diagnose my problem and hopefully get back on the road. Craig

It was great to see you and Allen again! Glad you had the chance to stop by and visit in NY. Hope you have a safe trip home with lots of room to stretch out on the plane. Craig

Just put the avon cobras on my 06, not sure about radial/bias construction, but they are the best handling tire to date that I have had on that bike. Rode in the pouring rain up to Ny rally and they were great, wish the windshield worked as well as those tires, but thats another story... They handle like you are on rails, dont know how well they are going to wear but I like em so far! Craig

1st job employment experiences,, oh those wonderful first jobs..
cecdoo replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
Wanted this beautiful "Red" bicycle in Pep Boys window when I was about 10yrs old, Dad said he would match everything I earned toward buying it. So my first job was emptying my aunts wash tubs that set next to the ringer washer. 25cents each, then collected newspapers and rags and took them to the rag shop, got my bike by the end of summer. At about 14 got a morning paper route, set up bowling pins 3 nites a week and worked at Kerns Sunoco on weekends, guess that explains why I never made it to college?? Been working ever since, from construction, to a rolling mill operator in a Beryllium plant, to a Clean room worker at At&T, mens and ladies clothing cutter, worked a draw block at a copper tube plant, you name it I did it. Have you ever had thoughts of hanging it up on riding?
cecdoo replied to Eck's topic in Watering Hole
I am starting to feel the way you do when it comes to riding around my area. I have been riding all over these roads for over 45yrs and its getting old. I do still really enjoy going on trips though, getting far away from home and exploring new areas. We took off to NY in the pouring rain, something I never do, but I wanted to take the bike and once the weather cleared on friday I was glad we did. We both really enjoyed the trip but we both had more aches and pains then last year. By the time we got home I was thinking I really need to get in better shape if I want to take that cross country trip thats on my bucket list. Dont think I am ready to hang it up just yet, but it isnt fun 100% of the time, like it used to be. You really put alot of miles a year on your bike Eck, maybe its just time to take alittle break. All the best in whatever you decide, Craig
