  1. I doubt there is anything available that will be anywhere near plug and play. If I were going to do this, I'd look at a split Harley Fatbob tank. There may be metric equivalents, IDK. A split tank will be the easiest, IMHO to mount and make look nice.
  2. I'd double check the cable routing from the sheild seat to the cam/pulley. IIRC, you can get one or both cables on the wrong side of an axle and it looks fine but doesn't work very well. There are some plastic bits on the axial links that look like the cable should be run over them but they don't actually ever contact the cables.
  3. I've never been an ATGATT (All The Gear, All The Time) guy. I gear up for the occasion. I get it, there is no way to see the future and know for certain that I won't be involved in an accident. I also know how many miles and how many years I have logged on two wheels without a real accident. That is not luck. I have actively avoided major catastrophe on many occasions, several of which I might not have been able to see/hear/anticipate if I had been wearing a full face helmet. So, to answer the question; No, I certainly do NOT always wear a helmet
  4. The fan won't kick in until the gauge gets almost into the red. On my '83, it is actually into the red before the fan kicks on. I still contend that the reason for the blow out was 37 year old heater hose.
  5. I'd venture:cool: to say the problem is 37 year old rubber heater hose. You said your temp gauge was in the normal range and the blowout did not burn you severely. I'd replace the T-stat just because and all the rubber hoses, cause they're old, ya' know. $0.02 YMMV
  6. Riding a motorcycle is as close to flying as most of us will ever get.
  7. Definitely sounds like a pinched nerve C5,6, and 7 are where i am having issues. My left hand has been numb/tingly for months and when it was at it's worst the pain in my left shoulder and chest was excruciating. I never lost motor function, but for a while I had no feeling at all in left arm from the elbow down. Xrays showed the misaligned vertebrae. My Chiropractor helped immensely.
  8. Hhmmm... Technically, I only have one Venture right now... New kitchen/new Venture??? Oh the Pain, the PAIN
  9. Sorry to hear your wife had to go through that! Great to hear she is doing well! My wife welcomes your's to the Zipper Club. Kris had to have her aortal valve and quite a bit of the artery replaced about 15 years ago. Hers was a congenital issue and she was quite young for such a process. According to her doctors, the newest process for the homeogenic replacements is so good that they will never need replaced again. At the time of Kris's surgery we were under the assumption she would have to have the valve replaced again in 10-15 years. It seems the new process was still under scrutiny and they were not telling anyone about it until they had more empirical data.
  10. Has anybody heard from jdbaker.vet? I've been trying to make contact with him for a couple weeks.
  11. A couple more from the same blade smith that made the wrapped handle scalpel above. This is "The Brute" a massive and ugly Tracker(ish) hacker. And My Wakizashi made from a slab saw circular saw blade.
  12. Here's my version of a Bagwell Hell's Belle. This was made with a licensed Ontario blade, my handle, guard, and sheath.
  13. Here's another a Buddy of mine made.
  14. Here's one of my favorite fixed blades. Made by a local Blade Smith, Mike Yurco. It's based on the Filipino Gunuintang sword.
  15. You and Eileen are always in my prayers. It does seem that Christmas has a price. My father died a few days before Christmas. I prefer to think of it as a sign that those taken at Christmas are sure to be met by Jesus and welcomed home.
  16. Prayers up! Never fun but worse when it ruins a good holiday.
  17. Here is what I have. I'm not sure it will work for you. I thought I had the top cover and the inner "bucket" for both sides but I only have the top cover for the right side.
  18. OK, I have the inner and outer top fairing covers but the outer is for the CLASS only with no CB. The CLASS module is mounted in the rear half and the front half is blank. The inner part has space for both the CLASS and CB modules. I'll take some pics this weekend.
  19. I might have that piece. Not sure. I know I have the CLASS module and CB, I just don't remember if I got the fairing cover with them. I'll check when I get back in town Wednesday.
  20. Spent some time yesterday evening going over the X-Rays with the Dr. I have a couple slightly compressed vertebrae(C5-C6 and C6-C7) and T1 is slightly out of line. A couple places with very minor arthritic build up, nothing major. The Dr. suspects that one or both of the compressed discs are bulging slightly but is confident that adjustments, NSAIDs and possibly some PT will take care of it.
  21. So sorry for your loss. It's hard enough when you see it coming. I thought I was prepared for my father's death as he had been in poor health for quite a while. I was wrong. I can't imagine how hard it would hit me to get that call about my mother. Remember the good times, don't dwell on the bad.
  22. I went for X-Rays yesterday. The Chiro will go over them with me tomorrow. To my untrained eye, I see two vertebrae that aren't watching their gig line. By my count, they are C5 and C6 which is where the Bone Cruncher told me the base problem is. I am feeling a bit better every day. I'm down to two adjustments a week from daily sessions.
  23. Forgot to respond! Mine arrived while I was on the road. THANKS!
  24. Just returned from my second chiropractic adjustment. I did see improvement after the first visit, the chiropractor confirmed today that things are looking better. I was still not able to sleep well last night but I was not in excruciating pain as I have been for the previous few days. This chiropractor uses a different method than the last one I saw effectively(many years ago). He uses a mechanical "thumper" to pin point impact rather than twisting me up and torquing my spine. I'll give it few more sessions, but I do feel the difference after each so far.
  25. Earl, Thanks for the advice. I hear what you are saying and get where you are coming from with it. It IS appreciated and not discounted. However, There was no significant injury or situation that precipitated this event. None. I simple woke from sleep in pain. So far, the MD side has only suggested/prescribed pharmaceutical solutions that have had from little to ZERO effect. I have had good results in the past from chiropractics. Granted, it was a completely different scenario. Rich
