  1. My bike has blue tooth, mp3 player am/fm stereo, Has Led Lighting and one heck of a V-4 with 18000 miles on the clock, so I still have at least 300,000 to go. I am sorry I want my V-4 bike it is smooth, got the humph, will spin tires if I want it too. Possible even pop Wheelies if I so want to. But I consider it my sleeper bike only problem is most of the Harley guys around here know them and know not to challenge, and some said they owned a couple and wished Yamaha would bring them back....
  2. Wait... I can understand people wanting to see the solar eclipse but won't everyone be able to see it from anywhere?
  3. Well.... That is a future project for me, I have new fork seals and fork work on the 83 before I joined site last year. So when they start leaking on goes the rebuild of the front... If I would have known about this I would have spent the extra $65.00. "Never ride faster then your guardian angel can fly."
  4. That is aggressive looking isn't it? "Never ride faster then your guardian angel can fly."
  5. Like tinker? Aka 83 venture. I like my bike alot... Wonder about mpg? Would a smaller engine get less gas mileage? "Never ride faster then your guardian angel can fly."
  6. I just can't see them being that wreckless on a touring bike. I have no experience with V-twin motors but my understanding they will not last near as long as our V-4. I wonder if it is possible to liquid cool those, and how are they as far as vibrations?
  7. Liquid cooled, another plus would be have an actual alternator would be nice... Maybe an Accessory fuse panel In the rear of the bike somewhere....
  8. Ouch, I don't even know what that is going to entail, but don't sound fun. I would guess maybe the pin is jarred into wrong position... if it is a pin..
  9. Ok so today I was trying to make sure I have all my ducks in a row. I ordered the MKII or 87 brake lined on the front as they included the Metering Valve with them. The only difference I see is the fact the 87 has the longer brake line which is just the addition of the bleeder on top to aid in bleeding past the metering valve. Has anyone switched there MKI out to the MKII brakes lines on the front to get the bleeder valve? What I have on order is the Copper washers, the banjo bolt was unavailable so I am hoping mine will work. Another question I had, Is it possible to rebuild the Metering Valves?
  10. Ok now I am intriqued. but it has to look something like tinker and nothing like nothing else on the road.... but reverse help would be nice....
  11. it is pretty close in the position there, So yeah you may want to check it out. I know for a while I wouldn't lock mine because I thought all it did was turn on the lights but found out if I just clicked the key slightly back there was another spot there...
  12. There is two positions there on my 83 I have locked it before and went into somewhere and came back out to need prayers to start the bike back up. The first one is lock the second one is the lights and yes you can take the key out in that position unfortunately.
  13. I had an elusive leak on number 2 carb on my bike never would leak in front of me. I would let the bike get good and warm and keep checking the carbs. Idled in drive for 2 hours and still no sign. Rod and/or fool kept telling Me stuck float.. Come to find out the needle had grooves in it and I will say no more.... I replaced the float needle tho.... But after an hour of shutting it off I would find a wet carb.... "Never ride faster then your guardian angel can fly."
  14. Yeah if your lucky you could probably look for smoke signals and get into some of that BBQ food, that is the best left overs.... "Never ride faster then your guardian angel can fly."
  15. I ordered 87 brake lines from ebay thru pinwall motorcycles. But this explains all the problems I was having bleeding the darn things... And brake fluid spraying all over a coil pack is probably why I thought I got some bad gas. I did email the guy and got a response back from him fairly quickly. He said he is working on the brake lines possibly be in the next year. So have them bookmarked, this is the second time within a month you have synced up to something I was working on... Right now I am waiting on the Damon DVD to dive into that... So many roads are shut down so I have no where to ride unless its straight roads... "Never ride faster then your guardian angel can fly."
  16. I don't know if the float valves can get grooves in them or not being you have the rubber tipped one. Mine was doing just about the same thing till I finally gave in and pulled my carbs and pulled the bowl off and pulled the float out. I happened to be working on it outside and seen immediatly in the sunlight what I had been missing all along. I could not see the imperfections under my 120 watts of florescent bulbs, that is what there called isnt it the tube lights. I have 8 of them float valves and seats, I can not use them on my carbs its totally different seat and needle...
  17. Well I just went down and checked at Oreily, the 36 does cover LED lights. But it says right on the flasher 3-6, Mine is the 34 and it says 2-6 lamps... So I am left with why would yours be solid..... I would think the 36 would work, I know I checked my flasher out wired it all up and hooked just one bulb to it.... and it flashed it. So is there a way you can wire up your flasher to a bulb and check and make sure your flasher is working correctly. I know it is tricky to do but it is possible I used wedge lights..
  18. I am fixing to head over to town I will double check. But I am thinking ep36 is for regular bulbs "Never ride faster then your guardian angel can fly."
  19. I have spent most of my day spring cleaning still got alot to do, But I managed to call several places about a NEW metering valve they all suggested calling salvage yards, I am real leery of this because it is something that I will consider a life or death safety feature.... So I will give them a call also to see if they do by chance have a metering valve that will work. I am rather shocked they don't carry this no more and do not have any aftermarkets I can find. Is it possible to rebuild the Metering Valve?
  20. MattK I will apologize first off by giving you the wrong part number for the flasher unit, I will also state when you use this flasher you should not need any resistors. I sound aggravated in the video is because I had to make the silly thing 4 times before my camera would aim right... and focus like I wanted it to. This is the wire ground I have running I have no Resistors The Wire that originally ran over to the cancelling unit from the OEM Flasher is Yellow with a green stripe. The B is for battery and the L is for Lights and the C is for Cancelling unit . This is how the EP34 Flasher, This is My ground Wire I have running for both flashers, I think i should loctite this guys because it has came loose twice on me. Cancelling unit Location I did nothing here just showing where it is It is located behind the Right hand Fairing on the inner plastic piece that runs around the Neck.
  21. Wonder if they have the metering valves... Mine is leaking and I can't find any. Trying to find out if one off another bike will work.. So far I got nothing. "Never ride faster then your guardian angel can fly."
  22. Ah join the crowd look up my, I give up trying to put leds on the bike.. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?126360-OK-I-give-up-Trying-to-put-Leds-throught-out-the-bike "Never ride faster then your guardian angel can fly."
  23. I am not sure where you cut wires, But I will pull the right fairing off of my bike. I need to know two things, One have you tried to go completely LED. I will try to reconstruct all the issues I ran into and I will do my darndest in detail to show what I have done. I fought with this Led thing for 3 months. I never gave up I just walked away from it and continued to study things. So in a way my fault for not making a clearer write up of what I actually did. I should have wrote it down in my tablets and then posted it to here once I got it all done. So give me a week and hopefully I can help you figure it out. This in no way was a trick, The 83 Venture was a Unicorn, Kind of the Alpha version of the bikes, then 84-85 was the beta, and of course 86-93 was the final release of them... Till they rebuilt something that was fine all along, Sorry 2nd Gens I cant tell you guys from Harleys half the time...
  24. I know I am almost two years late to the party, But all the same Love them dog's in that sour Kraut. You got me smelling that dog cooking over a campfire and the Kraut boiling next to it. Mouth is a watering here and stomach is a talking.... Good so far I may finish the story tonight maybe... Got me kind of Hooked. I went down to check out the park, it is gonna be awhile before I can enjoy rides to there and walking the trail. It is a mess down there. I will do my best to stretch this story out tho..
  25. Ok started and you may be right @cowpuc "Never ride faster then your guardian angel can fly."
