I spent many winters in NE, WI, MI, NY, IL, PA, VA, and OH contracting so I saw lots of snow. Don't miss it at all. My favorite job was south of MIami, FL close to the Keys. There were only a few nights here in Wilmington, NC this winter when it got below freezing.

I don't know if this applies to you, but several times over the years, I would get sciatic nerve pain in my right leg when I was on my feet. I would have to sit or place my foot on something high to relieve the pain. What seemed to get rid of the pain was going on a 1,000 calorie/day diet which is a good solution for any pain related to arthritis I suppose.

Bike Week Troubles
BlueSky replied to StormtrooperTK427's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I bought a slightly used 73 Honda CB750 in Feb of 73. It ran great on the test ride. After buying it I stopped for gas at a country store and by the time I got it home, it was running ragged. I replaced the plugs and that helped just a little. After putting more gas in the tank it ran great. But in the mean time I thought I had gotten taken on the purchase. I paid $1150 for it with 800 miles on it. A new one was $1450 in the winter and $1750 in the summer in Raleigh, NC. I loved that smooth 4 cylinder bike after learning to ride on a vibrating 71 Honda CB350 twin. -
I start my RSV occasionally to try to keep it running properly and the last couple of times I tried it the fuel pump doesn't appear to be clicking as much as before and it won't run very long. So, I'm guessing it's time to check the points and probably change them out. I'm assuming it's under the gas tank? I bought a set of points for the pump.

Bike Week Troubles

Is the fuel pump clicking normally when you turn the ignition on? Fuel pump points are a fairly common problem with these bikes. That shouldn't explain the smoke though. -
Way too many leaves on the road! Should have made the run in the spring.

Have you tried Dennis Kirk? They have a Michelin for the rear. https://www.denniskirk.com/tires/2013-yamaha-xvz1300tfs-royal-star-venture-s.mmy

I didn't know about grapes being toxic to dogs but I haven't owned a dog for about 27 years. Before that though I had a dog most of the time. I'm surprised my kids didn't give our dogs some grapes when they were growing up.

That British guy gets Chinese replacement engines for his. I think he has changed it out more than once since he has ridden it all over the world it appears.

I've really enjoyed watching this guy's videos! https://c90adventures.co.uk/ At CT70 just popped up on Facebook Marketplace I noticed today. It looks like new. The owner said he bought it at an estate sale and it only has 300 miles on it.

My son has been recording/mixing music for Beyonce' for over 10 years. She won 4 Grammys last night and my son who recorded/mixed her music was awarded 2 Grammys. This makes 4 Grammys total for him! Had to brag a little! Sorry!

Rear brake issues

Seems to me that a master cylinder rebuild is needed and maybe a caliper rebuild also while you are at it. -
Recently, a Partzilla ad popped up on my computer for LED bulbs for motorcycles. Perhaps they are plug and play more so than others? I don't know. They claim to be guaranteed to fit. https://www.partzilla.com/search?q=led+bulbs&ui=typeahead

I'm confused about the legal limit on lumens. I have read in some places that 3,000 lumens is the federal limit and have read other information that didn't agree with that number. So I'm cornfused. I noticed that the bulb in the link is rated 6,000 lumens.

I've had 3 pfizer vaccines, the last was about 14 months ago. Don't know if that helped or not? My wife has had no vaccines and it appears to be affecting her about the same as me. She is 17 years younger than I. First time getting covid for both of us. She did get sick a few times during the epidemic but never tested positive for covid. I"m sure both of us will be fine in a few days. A nurse friend of my wife told her that the local hospital has two floors filled with covid patients!

I went through the whole covid epidemic so far without even getting a cold. Monday, I woke up hoarse and coughing like crazy. Tuesday, I felt really bad. I took ivermectin both days. Wednesday I started feeling a little better. I tested positive for covid. Thursday I felt almost normal again with no fever. Today, I feel almost normal with some coughing. So, I guess a 78 year old man with health issues can survive the crap. My wife got it a couple of days after I did. I'd like to kick fauci's azz all over the county for funding the creation of this virus with taxpayer funds.

The holidays are over! Now we can exercise more, lose weight, ride more, and kiss the wife more often!!!! Well okay, I can dream! 😂

Thanks for the update. We'll be hoping for the best. -
I spent 3 yrs and 8 months in Homestead, FL just south of Miami working on the nuclear plant there and I love the weather down there. Winter lasts about 2 weeks and the summers aren't any hotter than where I live in Wilmington, NC, just longer. The water from about Ft. Lauderdale south is crystal clear and the fishing is fantastic. We spent lots of time in the Keys fishing and visited Key West many times. And there is a reef from about Ft. Lauderdale south past Key West that keeps the waves down, so it's a fantastic place to go snorkeling or fishing. Only thing about Homestead and the Miami area is that the crime level is higher than normal. That is when I got a carry permit for the first time. I'm the old guy in the photo if you couldn't guess😁

Hey, time for a condo in Ft. Lauderdale, or the Florida Keys! 😃
