  1. I never make the same mistake twice. I make it like 5 or 6 times, you know, just to make sure!
  2. Marriage is like a game of poker. You start with a pair and end with a full house.
  3. I would pull the valve covers to see if that tells you anything. If not, pull the heads just out of curiosity. Better to junk it rather than rebuild I would think.
  4. Sounds more like a valve train issue to me?
  5. Well, a 13 year old thread was revived. I don't know how many of you follow this guy but he rode his tiny Honda through Mexico on his way south from Alaska. You may want to watch. He has lots of videos about his travels on his Honda C90. https://c90adventures.co.uk/alaska-to-argentina/a2a-episode-11-mexico-part-1/
  6. The Gen 1 Mk1 bikes have poor brakes on the front. Some owners put Mk 2 front forks/brakes on them. All Gen 1s through 1990 have weak 2 brush starters when they went to 4 brush starters which is another favorite mod. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I've always used semi-metallic brake pads on all my autos, etc. because they provide good braking friction for stopping quickly. But, my 2005 Dodge Magnum with the Hemi engine came with ceramic pads. The car has great braking power because it has large brake rotors. Anyway, I changed the pads recently at 113,000 miles and they would have lasted another 10,000 at least. And the rotors had a mirror finish with no grooves at all. So, I am sold on ceramic brake pads now. They don't appear to destroy the rotors. They last a long time and still provide great braking friction. Might be worth trying to help our old bikes expensive maybe unobtainable rotors to last longer. By the way, I bought Akeboni pads for it and I like them because they provide great stopping power and great modulation.
  8. This company in the Netherlands supposedly have some. https://www.cmsnl.com/vf1100c-magna-1983-d-usa_model1119/disk-lfrbrake_45351mb1700/#.X17JsmhKiM9
  9. Your life is a treasure. Live it with a smile to benefit others. In other words, take your meds so you won't punch anyone!
  10. Yeah, that's why the senile one always reads from a teleprompter.
  11. The Gen 1s are about 80 lbs lighter but they don't feel like it due to the higher seat height and less rake of the front forks. They are also geared lower and will outrun a Gen 2 in a drag race. The seating position is totally different with the upright position of the Gen 1s with your feet under you. The Gen 2s have the foot forward cruiser riding position that is more comfortable for us older (ancient in my case) riders who are getting too familiar with Mr. Arthur Itis.

    What a day

Glad she is okay. I worked with a guy who lost his wife when she took a combination of meds.
  14. I'm skeptical. I just went to their web site and watched their video on how this plug supposedly works. I'd like to read FlyingFools response to this subject because they claim it has a capacitor inside the plug. I don't understand how a capacitor would work in this service.

  16. I needed to sync the carbs on my Kawasaki so I decided to buy a gauge set after my sad experience with the Motion Pro Manometer. I ended up overpaying and bought a K&L Gauge set (made in Taiwan). It looks really nice all SS with its own case and has all the fittings needed for different brands. It worked great on my Kawa and I'm pleased so far. The #1 carb on my Kawa was closed off to the point it was missing at idle. Now, it throbs on all four. I had been having problems with the #1 exhaust pipe running much cooler than the rest. After syncing, it ran on all four at idle but the exhaust temp was not up to the rest after a ride. I cleaned the plug which didn't help. I installed new Champion plugs and it is back up to temperature. I'm beginning to wonder about the quality of NGK plugs. when I bought the bike in 2009, the #2 plug was dead. It was 24 yrs old but it only had 1k miles on it.
  17. Went for a ride on the 07 Bluebird. I have never noticed the cooling fan running. Shouldn't it run while sitting at a stop light in 85 degree weather?
  18. Thanks, because I would never know that just looking at the chart.
  19. Looking at that chart it would appear that my 89 Venture should have 2 piston calipers on the front but both front calipers have 4? What am I missing?
  20. Yeah, it's your lucky day! Be sure you contact them and give them all of your bank account information so they can make the money transfer! NOT!
  21. I'm curious as to what brand these failing tires were and where were they manufactured? Back around late 80's, I bought a used 25' travel trailer. All 4 tires on it were cracked from sitting in the sun. A week after I bought it, I towed it 600miles to Disney World on the interstate at 65mph. I was expecting tire issues but did not have any. In fact, I've never had a tire failure due to age. Knock on Wood!!!!!
  22. Seems the bike manual only states use coolant compatible with aluminum. It doesn't say anything about using the green stuff or the 5 year coolant?
  23. This is our boat. It's a 98 18' Boston Whaler Ventura with a 99 Yamaha 2 stroke motor and we bought it in 2007.
  24. Did you make sure the tires were up to pressure? Stupid question I know. Sorry. I have a 4' x 8' utility trailer I bought from Lowes in Manitowoc, WI to haul my ZN700 Kawa home to NC. The small tires on it are supposed to be inflated to 90 psig. When I was working in Homestead FL, I hauled the my 04 Kawa concours 15 miles down the turnpike to get some new tires installed. One trailer tire was only inflated to 30 psig but it sat up fine even with the 660lb bike in it. The trailer was rated for a max of 1600 lbs. So, I thought it would be okay. NOT! On the way back to Homestead, the right rear tire shredded. I didn't even know it until I slowed down to take my exit at Homestead. So, I continued to drive it back to my Townhouse. I was working 12 hr night shifts and I didn't have much time to get this done during the day when I should have been sleeping. Anyway, I ordered a new tire/wheel combo from etrailer because the rim was a goner too and the local stores didn't have a replacement tire/wheel combo. I learned to make sure the tires are up to pressure before towing!!!
  25. The carbs might have to be cleaned. You could try the shotgun method first. Also, replace the fuel filter. https://vmax.lvlhead.com/tips/shotgun.htm
