  1. I keep putting in my bid...but am getting outbid. Sigh. Nice looking stuff, guys and gals!
  2. Greg...now that the scoot is running better...it would be a good time to go back over the plugs, wires and carbs to make sure she is running sweetly. You should be able to get over 160 miles to the tank with normal riding before reserve. "Normal" means keeping the wrist in check...most of the time...grins! At least that has always been my goal...40mpg's. Good to hear you are on the way!
  3. In our thoughts and prayers, my friend. You WILL beat this...ya hear!! Besides, I need to see you and Tip down here in AZ this Fall.....we have some nice rides down here! david
  4. Gee and here I was thinking about buying another WallyWorld set for my 05 RSV. I like them on my 09VStar. I was thinking the same area. Guess I'd better re-think under the floorboards! Grins!
  5. Pinwall has this pair for RSTD...seems the same. Can someone confirm? http://tinyurl.com/ptbomsm Thanks for the help. I had forgotten about Pinwall! As much as I would like new.....these seem to be about the same thickness as mine and look good. David
  6. Anyone help point me in the direction of best place to buy new front rotors for my 05 RSV? I'm a little tired of the web searches showing everything under the sun that I know WON"T FIT the 2nd Gen instead of only what I want...(using quotes doesn't help much anymore) thanks, david
  7. Really does look nice! Reminds of my youth when I rented Class A motorhomes and went to Disneyland/San Diego, etc.. Do miss those days! Maybe in a few years we'll get something else....(dreamin...)
  8. Yep. Brian....most of the time ignition noise making it into the audio circuits is from: noise on the power line (amp doesn't have very good circuits to filter it out), poor grounds, unshielded speaker amp circuit, etc.. The power and charging circuits of a bike is rudimentary...without much shielding as well....so audio noise on the 12 volt lines is a given. You will get rid of most of it with a good filter...but I would expect some left over. On both of my Ventures, there are at least two filters in the circuits and I still hear ignition noise on the intercom at certain volume. No biggie. Good luck! david
  9. I know normally docs don't do much for ribs...but 12? Sounds to me like a body cast would help a lot! Like you said, bones won't heal if they are moving around. Geesh! Well, l hope the next docs to work on you can get a better handle on their "practice" of medicine!
  10. Fantastic! Hope you can find those notes!
  11. Yep....a filter on the 12volt line feeding the GPS should take care of the ignition noise.
  12. I like the idea of using any extra $$ to help our members that may need it... Good idea....we just need a volunteer artist. David
  13. Patti, You and Don are welcome here in Southern Arizona...but don't come until Oct.15th when the heat breaks. From then till May...you are good! Enjoy the retirement and the travels! david
  14. Eck, is that the same color as the 05 RSV has? Sure looks close. If so...can you let out where you got paint and what color number? I have some painting I want to try on my 05....and she is silver. Thanks, david
  15. Agreed...lawyer up! Glad you are OK. Geesh...what is going on with the world that people have to lie? Guess he's afraid he may lose his job...well...now he probably will for lying to cops! Be curious if his company sticks with him or the truth.... Good luck...and keep us informed as to what happens. We all need to know how to handle these things ...in case we have to deal with same/similar issues! Prayers Up! david
  16. Scott....take life one day at a time..be thankful for all that surrounds you and ..."Prayers Up!" P.S. ready for you and Tip to come down and ride my part of the country....when it's cooler! david
  17. I learned to! Went off and tried shifting without clutch on 1st Gen. Worked like a charm!
  18. Dang...really looks like fun. Ah well....
  19. Went for my Sunday morning ride. One of my usual haunts is Madera Canyon. Cooler up there...I live on the other side of this Valley you can see way off in the distance. Try to leave before 7 am...get back before 10. To dang hot after that. Oh, breakfast burrito was good.
  20. Fantastic! Thank you for sharing... david
  21. It's an alternative to triking or not riding at all.......and it's a good alternative. I think I would do that before I would trike.
  22. Clive, Normally you have a left and right hot wire and a left and right ground wire. But sometimes you can combine the grounds if the amplifier allows it. If the amp has separate grounds, then keep the connections that way. Combining them in those circumstances can cause you to lose stereo separation on some amps....and on others the amps are not happy campers. On the VR, the 5 pin connection is also wired for microphone. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?499-Headset-Pin-Out-Diagram To make a minijack output.....just tie into the left, right and ground wires. You will have to google or search this site for the pin outs on the minijack...I've long forgot that tidbit of knowledge! The rest of that diagram is self-explanatory and not needed for adding a mini stereo jack to system....but fun to read. Anyway, it's an easy thing to do. Although I simply ordered the edset adapter. I'm tired of soldering! david
