Where is your shaft linkage in relation to the adjusting nuts? The adjusting nuts on my shaft are about halfway to both ends...leaving the link between the shaft and the rod above...almost vertical. The brake pedal rod (#71) and the "boss"(part #77).....page G2 on the parts diagram pdf....

Do you have the owners manual or the service manual? The procedure for adjusting the pedal free play, pedal throw and brake light all need to be done in sequence or it won;t work. I don't remember the exact sequence but know the info is available here. Look in the Maintenance only section for 1st gens... david

That's what I have...Edsets adapter. Works fine. Also allows the other direction. You can add an MP3 player or your phone output to the adapter and it will play through the system. Since I have headphones in my helmet, I have several choices. Plug in the earbuds for noise reduction and better audio...or use the helmet speakers and plug in an mp3 to listen to my own mix of tunes. You can also make your own adapter...with a stereo mini female plug, some small wire (4 conductor), heat shrink tubing and a little ingenuity. There are tons of the 5 pin plugs...male and female out there...since this type of plug goes way back to the old style computer keyboards.... Lots of choices... david

Peroxide does kill the mold, but not the stains underneath. I like what Puc brought to the discussion...going to have to try that on some other strange stains I have! david

In reading the label on the original Rain-X.....it says only use on plastics if manufacturer says it's ok. Clearview says it's ok...so I'll keep on using it... Wonder if they know about the new plastic rain-x??

This does seem to be an issue with some HD groups. I've seen them do this in the left lane....cars passing on right. Law in this state is to move to right lane...

I use Rain-X original on my Clearviews. No issues. In fact, time to get another bottle. Throw old bottle out....have a new Clearview to take care of! david

((We are only guessing at what is happening inside of the relays, since we have no info, that is why I recommended a test to be safe.)) Jeff...I did post what looks to be a basic schematic for the relay in your medical post....to give you something to think about during your recoup! BTW, pleased to see you are posting daily! david

Clearview arrived. Pretty. Fits perfectly and looks great! BUT, missing one bolt in it's sealed hardware package. Left message...Sigh. Got phone call...late yesterday. I can use regular bolts...should fit just fine...and they do.

Note: The CB takes precedence only when the CB signal overcomes the squelch. When CB is squelched, the radio still can be heard.

I really think at this point, you need to cut the TCI open and see what's going on (if anything) within that unit. If it's clean and all looks good, it still could be failing. BUT, sure seems to me to be TCI related. Since the TCI is the computer to determine plug firing...it would make sense to at least see if it can be ruled out as a source of the problems. Thinking out loud, here....

In 1969, I was riding my bike in Phoenix during one of the hottest summers ever. It was warm...but I rode a bike and drove my Austin Healey Bugeye...all summer long. My nickname today should be "Wimpy".

Search for older posts. Tons of pictures and narratives on taking the fairing apart and what you'll find in there....plus the manuals are here as well... I have some pics here somewhere of the HD pipes on mine. PO did a nice job mounting them...

My speedo is hitchy too....don't know what the problem is...yet. Download the manual from this site unless you have one..info in there on radio and audio tuning. Easy once you wrap your head around the controls... The engine may feel anemic compared to the Max...but don't forget...it's basically the same engine and loves to rev...but a much heavier scoot. HD stock pipes give a nice low rumble without being to loud. Keep the backrest...get the risers....you'll be thankful you did. Glad to hear the rest went well! Welcome to the group!
