  1. Sorry for your loss, my condolences.
  2. Glad you made it there and had fun !!!! I planned the whole year to go but, my back still killing me specially riding the bike at low speeds I don't feel safe. next time I climb to the roof I'm going to hang your Bell on the ladder
  3. check with your local AAA here in Florida you can add motorcycle coverage for an extra $35 annual fee. I have never use it but they claim to tow you for 100 miles. I was trying to decide weather an Air comp or a CO2 ............I think because of space and simplicity go for the CO2 kit
  4. The very best to you and your better half !!!! I always remember the ride to lake Okeechobee.
  5. Happy Birthday Sir and thanks for all your help
  6. thank you bongobobny and breakpad as soon as I get a little better (almost 100% now) going to order the sparks plugs and replace them.after that will check back to find somebody that could assist me with the carb sync
  7. not a very clever idea if you think all the issues a Ford may have
  8. a new tire makes !!! just got the bike back new Michelin commander II rear tire, rear brake pads and new brake fluid, front, rear and clutch. I'm very happy the way the bike handles, a totally different bike. if I get a little better want to go to Daytona Beach on the future want to change spark plugs and sync the carburetors (after buying the synchronizer and learning how to use it ) Dan
  9. I don't worry about Michelin tires quality, I always try to save money but NOT when it comes to motorcycles tires, I'm very glad to hear that you work for Michelin here in the US, and lots of tires still made in here Dan
  10. I must say that I know for experience that there different grades of quality on Asian products, you should see some of the stuff they import from Asia on other countries lol, and I'm sure a big name brand like Michelin is not going to expose their good name and reputation with a bad product. it is just a little shocking or sad for a lack of a better word how everything is made outside (different topic I know) and makes one wonders if this tire isn't being produce on the same factory that makes the $80 tire that we didn't want to jeopardize our safety on them.
  11. thank you very much for your quick reply, could not ask for a better response very complete indeed.
  12. I just got the rear Michelin Commander for my Bike I think it was made on the 38th week of 2012 going to have install tomorrow and on about a month or two going to order the narrower front Michelin .................. one thing that caught my attention it is made in Thailand. is it just my luck or are all made in Thailand? is anybody using the 130/90-16 Michelins in the front and what's your opinion thanks in advance guys Dan
  13. I quitted riding while I was living in Argentina for this main reason seen many trucks with loads not tight properly and stuff flying all over one even broke my car windshield good thing wasn't my neck riding a bike lol
  14. first thing we notice when we moved to southern Florida is how Bad people drive ...............on the phone talking if not texting, cutting you off, no signal lights, using the horn all the time, pedestrian crossing anywhere, elder people, distracted tourist, foreigners that saw and drove a car for the fist time in their 40's etc etc .......... the good think is when I go to Argentina or Uruguay I almost don't notice any difference and blend in right away:confused24: lol
  15. Congratulations!!! I'm really happy for you Best wishes Dan

    Why?

"Why if you call an orange an orange, you don't call a banana a yellow"
  17. I just envy you Man, I'm here in sunny Florida bike it's running pretty decent but still can't ride ..........I'm doing better after falling from my house roof but the only thing I was able to do was just star the bike and drool over it a little.
  18. the carburetors were leaking I guess bike wasn't used much a 05 with only 12700 miles must've been seating for a long time ..............florida ethanol doesn't help either ........... still backfire a little but I 'm going to live with it until replace spark plugs, I'm in the procees of replacing my rear tire and that is going to help with handling issues .the tire is not only wear out is probably close to 10 years old ...........had a little accident yesterday so no riding for a few days thanks a lot and ride on
  19. The very best to you. Enjoy retirement and keep fighting the C.
  20. thank you guys I going with the EBC pads then ............. there is a change of plans and I'm not going to be riding for a few days lol. I was trying to save some money (to get the tires was my reward) and, I was pressure washing/painting my own roof and fell from top of the ladder when going down ....... I was bleeding from my head and wife got scared called paramedics and got me to an ER now I'm okay but my back and clutch hand hurts like hell .......... I guess gonna stay home for a few days and wait for the bill (there goes my savings) before I can move the bike around. the main thing is that I'm still above ground and, everything else it's cheap if can buy it with money, and Barry thanks again for the guardian bell I should've hang it from the ladder
  21. my rear tire could be the original metzler with 14k miles it is pretty Bald after doing intensive "home work" here in the forum and , because I live in southern Florida and rain can't be avoid I think I'm going to order Michelin commander II(any news if they going to star making a front tire for us?) they seem to behave better on rain than the Dunlops E3 while I'm at it going to replace my brake pads too I think I'm going to try some organics any suggestions? I want to be able to stop the bike normally I don't enjoy replacing pads every other week but I know that if they last too much is because they are eating your rotors, so rather replace pads than rotors lol I already have my 12 bucks worth !!! but any suggestion and or input on tires and pads will be greatly appreciated
  22. I'm starting on doing some research on rear tire for my RSTD and Avon tires were on list but I going to scratch those out currently the Michelin are top of my list because already had Metzeler and don't like the way they ride once they star wearing out, and if the elite3 are noisy they are out as well so far is between the Pirellismt 66 and the Michelin commanders
  23. I'd rather give the bike to my son or some one that will enjoyed above ground ........................ but we leave flowers that nobody it's going to smell so in a way this is a lot better.
  24. on my Gilera 150 I took the muffler end too!!!! and made some "gizmo" that I could open and close to fool the police lol it worked like a carburetor choke with a butterfly Thanks for bringing those memories back !!!!
  25. it looks very similar to my second bike a Gilera 150 cc my first one was a Honda PC50 cc
