  1. This was a wrapped fairing that was on my trike when I bought it. One thing to keep in mind are any imperfections on the surface will come through the wrapped surface. Surface prep is just as important with a wrap as it is with paint

  2. Technically it was a garage find. 9400 miles and very mint. Looking forward to getting my hands dirty.

  3. This week I had a lapse of sanity and bought a new 2023 Truck. It's a Nissan Titan Pro4X. I was cruising through Autotrader just to see what was available and I saw this truck advertised with a $6500 discount. So I checked to see what the real price was and they added some imaginary service fees. I wasn't interested so they dropped those extra fees. Then after waiting a couple days they called and added another $500 discount for my "military service". I did serve but it was for 3 years starting in 1967. So I ended up with a $7,000 discount off MSRP with the doc fee as the only adder. Then, they financed it a 0% for 60 months! I tried and tried to insert a photo of the truck but it always inserted upside down no matter what orientation I made to the photo before inserting!!!!

  4. Tina has been asking about highway pegs for her, since nobody is making aftermarket parts for the Star Venture. I decided to make my own design. She wanted her feet to be out more than forward so this is what I came up with. The floorboards still fold up out of the way when I'm riding solo.

  5. I don't believe all those statistics that Home Depot is claiming but I do agree that it's being shoved down our throats.

  6. OK, I'm calling BS. That is way too nice to be a garage find. Darn fine looking ride. I've said it before I absolutely love the Gen 1, especially those handlebar setups. Those were so comfortable. I just don't have the ability to maintain them. Congrats on the find.

  7. There is a soldered buss/terminal strip on the CLASS control board that , notoriously has cold solder joints. If your CLASS doesn't power up in ACC position, or shows an error code(ER3, I think), it's probably a bad solder joint.

  8. Did you check to see if it is just the valve core leaking? I remember a couple people thinking it was there shock that was bad and it ended up being the valve core.

  9. Nice find, I know you'll love. Don't know what compressor you are talking about, but if it's for the air ride, it's usually not the compressor but the controller.

  10. Try bleeding the master by cracking the banjo bolt. If an air bubble gets up there it’ll drive you crazy.

  11. Congratulations Steam Rider! I just purchased a 1986 recently! That bike looks very clean! Hopefully it won't take too much to get it on the road! Good luck with it. I took mine in for insepection today and it passed with flying colours. Went to piock it up after work but it was raining so hard I decided to leave it till tomorrow. Will get the licence and registation done tomorrow and be riding it Thursday! Can't wait!

  12. I think you have to pull the motor to change out the u-joint. If i remember correctly, and its verrrrry possible I'm wrong. There's no grease fitting on the u-joint. The 83-85 have bad second gears. You'll find information on exactly what it is. You have to split the case to change it, but the part itself is a couple bucks lol. Another thing you'll find is the front forks will start to bottom out. Most guys upgrade with progressive springs. Get those things out of the way (and you can drive without 2d gear) and she'll run for 200,000 miles. Generally speaking they're pretty easy to work on. I really like fiddling with mine. These motors are pretty bulletproof. Most guys dont even do valve adjustments! Enjoy your beautiful bike!

  13. I have an '83 that I purchased a couple years ago. It wasn't in the best of shape but I always wanted one of the first yamaha dressers. after nearly 3 years, I'm finally getting it to run well. Carbs were a mess when I got it: leaked, not synced, clogged. Worked and worked but could never get them right. $600 for a professional cleaning and the guy said they would still need to be fiddled with a lot. I finally said screw it and ordered a carb modification kit from Germany. Now using a single pict 34 carb from a Volkswagen. Wow! What a difference! Runs like a dream, with the added benefit of electric choke and fuel shut- off. Just took it on a 700 mile weekend run and averaged 45.9 mpg! I know there are some naysayers and purists that will disagree with doing it, but I've never been happier with this bike!

  14. In my opinion, it's just fake advertising. I just looked again and DR Powers website says 10.00 per hour operational saving vs. gas. It actually takes about 2 gallons of gas to mow my yard. It takes about 3 hours to mow my yard and about 2 gallons of gas so approximately 7:00 at current gas prides here. So that's about If I factor in a yearly oil change, that equals about 35 cents per hour for the annual oil change.and filter. So it cost me about 2.45 per hour to mow my yard. So how can they advertise that the electric mower saves 10.00 per hour over a gas mower when it only costs me 10.00 per hour to mow? If it didn't coast ANYTHING to charge the electric mower, it would save me about 2.45 per hour. Then figure new batteries at 4500.00 every five tears or so on top of that. Over 5 years, 4500 for new batteries minus 1200 for gas and oil means the electric would cost me 3300.00 more to operate over 5 years PLUS the cost of charging the batteries I'm not at all interested in an electric mower, just ran across these misleading ads while looking at various mowers. I can assure you that I will stick with gas or diesel. Most likely, gas.
