playboy Posted September 28, 2011 Share #1 Posted September 28, 2011 Thought I would share an idea i had don't think I've ever seen one. The wife an I got tired of coming back to our bike after shopping to a hot seat we haven't had a chance to try it yet but it should work. Snaggletooth Posted September 28, 2011 Share #2 Posted September 28, 2011 That should do it!! I always use a half cover on mine to help keep the seat a lil cooler. Now if you're looking for a fancy way out...........a lamb skin seat cover is sweet! Cooler in the sun and warmer in the winter. No more smelling bacon burning when I plant the old rump on the seat. bongobobny Posted September 28, 2011 Share #5 Posted September 28, 2011 Yup, another vote for sheepskin! Should run you around $80. Just go to Fleabay and do a search on sheepskin and you will find seve3ral dealers withb some really nice colors and quality... Of course your silver bullet half cover is nice! kenw Posted September 28, 2011 Share #6 Posted September 28, 2011 Take a look at this site www.genuinecoolass.com I don't know if they have anything to fit the venture, but they sure work on our scoots!
Bwhite Posted September 28, 2011 Share #7 Posted September 28, 2011 I bought two sheepskin covers from this place several years ago. One for the front seat, one for the back. Use them all the time when we ride out of town. http://www.wildthingsfur.com/sheepskin_seat_covers.asp
RedRider Posted September 28, 2011 Share #8 Posted September 28, 2011 Full sheepskins are available at Ikea for about $30. Will need to cut to size, but they are generally large enough for both driver and pillion seats. RR
Gearhead Posted September 28, 2011 Share #9 Posted September 28, 2011 IMHO, the Ikea skins aren't dense enough for full benefit, but they're OK. The better ones have fur that's more dense, thick and curly. They are SOOO nice for temp and for comfort. I have a black one, and somehow it's still not hot to sit on, even in full sun. brainfart Posted September 28, 2011 Share #12 Posted September 28, 2011 here in the Valley of the Sun - I've used a couple methods... 1) the beach towel & bungie cord for long days in the sun 2) beaded seat cushion.. works GREAT -- allows air flow and is quite comfortable at Www.beadrider.com
