Went for 200klm(125ml) ride last Friday. Went to Port Dover to the only Friday The 13th this year!(get together for all kinds of bikes(mostly Harley)and motorcycle riders from all over Canada(some from Manitoba,Alberta,Quebec, and some from US)Estimated to be around over 100,000 bikes. And as usual there were a few accidents on way and home for a few riders.(around 6 that we know of,luckily no deaths)

Morning guys. Got to go out for a Father's Day ride yesterday. About 230 miles. Fiddled with the bike on Saturday, messed with the pilot jets and realized that the lower hose that connects the breather box to the crank was disconnected. Rode about 67mph with a light crosswind from the south and got 41.25mpg on the bike. I'm pretty impressed with that. Thinking about doing an Iron Butt this Saturday. I wont be able to go on any long trips with the kiddo at home, but I talked to the missus and she's fine with me disappearing for a day to do one. Going to ride from Omaha to Duluth and back is the plan!

I am new to Yamaha's and my son just acquired a 2005 Royal Star Tour Deluxe. Can someone guide me in the right direction to locate the tip over switch? I have a no fire problem and have checked all the safety switches with exception of the tip over switch. The manual i have suggest it's located near the kick stand but I have look extensively in that area but no luck. I have checked the kick stand switch in that area but that is all I can find there. I know about the ignition switch problems but checked continuity through it according to the manual and it test good. Thanks

Okay, still trying to decide no, discover why my light bar ain't working. Saw a post on another site that says there may be an inline fuse housed in the head light bucket. Anyone know for sure? Thanks

I checked Ebay and there were some Venture parts on there. Crash bars and cowling parts. Good luck finding what you need.

I had the Dunlops on mine. Local shop said they're unavailable, so I'm going with a set of Metzlers. They're more expensive, but I figure there's other places I can save money. Tires are pretty important.

Does anyone know if the ignition contacts on a 98 RSTD can be cleaned without having to break into the ignition case? Thanks in advance.

Wow. Didn’t know Pinwalll sold out. They were always my go to. There used to be one in Sandusky or Huron, I’ll have to see if I can find the name. They sold on Evay also. I bought a week from them.

I second the option to go to Linux Mint. I have dabbled in some Linux versions before and got frustrated with how much tinkering it takes to get it to do what I want. So far Linux Mint seems to work pretty good out of the box and still running strong on an old computer I got from a neighbor that was released in 2012.

Very nice write-up! I sent my leaking shock to Dave in 2021 when I bought my 2012 RSV and its been great ever since. Been in the back of my mind that at some point I may have to replace the o-ring in the future since I plan to keep my bike long-term, so appreciate the detailed write up being available here.

Cruise control quit working last week. 2007 RSV I have owned since new and am very familiar with how everything operates. It passes all self diagnostic tests listed in the service manual section 8 pages 73-75 in rest 3 it is testing the actuator, vacuum, and throttle cable. so the only thing I can think of is the gear position switch. the cruise will only operate between 50 MPH and 80 MPH in 4th or 5th gear. I can not find where the the cruise control module gets a signal to know if it is in 4th or 5th gear. i have been all over the wiring diagrams and just don't see it. Have any of you ran in to this?
