Good morning. Planning a 500 mile ride this Sunday. We're planning on having the kiddo dropped off at my sister's and on the road by 7am. We'll leave Omaha and take Highway 75 up to Sioux City, then Highway 20 west to Highway 12. That'll take you north and west past Ponca (cool native history there). We'll stay on Highway 12 across the river hills until we hit Highway 81 and go north. Then we'll get to the south side of Yankton and cross Gavin's Point Dam. From there we'll take Highway 52 into highway 50 west across the South Dakota plain until we reach the west side of Wagner, South Dakota. We'll continue west and have lunch at Radar Hill, which is where the Fort Randall Casino is. It used to be called Radar Hill because there was an old Army radar station set up there. We'll continue west into Pickstown and cross the Fort Randall Dam and continue west on Highway 18 until we reach Highway 281 and travel south til highway 12. We'll then take highway 12 to highway 81 and take that south to highway 275 and head home! I'm really looking forward to it!

Thinking about a spring ride for June. Here in Wisconsin.
Chaharly replied to OrlinEngh's topic in Watering Hole
Whats the general area you're in? I've never been to a Venturerider event, so after being on the site for like 10+ years I think I may like to finally go to one! - Today

I am interested as I have now moved permanently to Madison. I have attended at least a couple of your rides in the past and have enjoyed them - Yesterday

Just on top of my head, I think you simply remove the right side cover and there it will be...a small air filter. I have not done it yet and will double check the maintenance manual before I tackle the job. I'll post pics as soon as they are available. No special tools required.

Sharon the other day said she sure misses having people over and going out ridding. So, I thought I would put this out there and see if there was any interest. Do a Friday and Saturday ride, I will say that we are the take it easy kind of riders. And its a pretty laid back get together. In the past we go out for a ride have some lunch and back here for cookout and set around the campfire and get to chat. We have plenty of area to campout. its rustic there will be porta potties to use. We have our camping area down by the creek. Or there are motels in Viroqua or there are area campgrounds with electric and water hook ups with bathrooms and showers, and they are nice clean campgrounds I know that this is pretty early but like I said I wanted to see if there is much interest. I don't see much for Venture Riders getting together and meet. I know we sure had a lot of fun in the past. Orlin

Hi Rick, The guy who is fixing it for me didn't have the fairing off yet. Now he's got it all apart, and sees how it's all put together. Thanks to your post, he can get all the parts he needs. Thanks for all the help! -

Update on the trip. We spent last night in West Chester PA about 5 miles from the Delaware state line. When we left this morning, we drove south a little way in Delaware, stopped and fueled up, then headed north back to Pennsylvania. We stayed away from Philadelphia, so we headed NE for a few hours then turned east on federal roads that went from rural 2 lane to 6 lane parkways and back to 2 lanes rural in just a few miles. We got out of PA into New Jersey and are now staying in Goshen NY. Our plans are to make Conn and Rhode Island tomorrow. I have a niece in Mass. that we are planning to visit if she has time to fit us in between school and work. The best thing about the trip is the beauty of the trees and scenery and in the small old towns. So many majestic old buildings along the road. We want to stop and look them all over, but we keep moving on. -
It has been partly cloudy all day today, but it was the perfect day to run errands and commute to and from work. Just like you @Chaharly, I'll be riding to and from work. I just have a couple items to replace on the RSV and SVTC and that would be air filters on both. I am looking at partzilla to order the items. Once again, ride safe to all and most importantly enjoy the ride.

Back in the saddle for another work week, will probably be riding all week as well. We're planning on a long ride Sunday. Keep the shiny side up!

You will never regret getting a Goldwing, you will be surprised at how well it handles, not sure I am sold on the newest models with DCT transmission and revised front suspension, but then I never did ride one, visit the GL1800Riders forum to get acquainted with the bike. I sold mine after Covid when I realized my attention to details when riding had been compromised by by Covid and lack of riding during the pandemic, sometimes I miss it, but when I do I just take the Vette out for a drive and all is fine in the world. -
Good morning to all riders. Nice weather all week on my side. I'll be riding all week. Hope you are also having nice weather in your area. Ride Safe.

Hello Friends. I have been riding a Yamaha Venture since 2004 when I bought my first one brand new. I stopped riding in 11 after a bad accident and bought this one in spring of 21 and have managed to put 30,000 miles on it since, even having to take a year off due to back surgery. I did some checking and realized I had ridden all but 8 states in the lower 48. Patricia and I decided we should ride the others on a Venture before I give up the ghost and get a Goldwing trike next spring. Sooooo, Patricia and I headed out, Yeah, she TOOK the Spyder from me, from Hopkinsville KY on Friday, 9/26/25 heading east to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We got on the Parkway at Roanoke VA and rode up to the end of Skyline Drive. That beautiful ride was already the best part of the trip. I can wait to get into the more northern states to see the beauty there. We are now in the suburbs of Pittsburgh for the night and are going to go into Delaware and New Jersey tomorrow morning to get our first two. From there we will head north to get the other 6. Or 7, my geography lessons school were slept through when I did go to school.🙄 I will update everyone as we make a few more states. Steve.

We were, We live in the driftless region. So most of the time we get to the end of the driveway and try to decide to go to the left or to the right. Sharon was saying that she sure misses when we would have people over and put together rides and let people get to see the views and enjoy riding the roads. Something may have to work on for spring.
-
Were you riding the driftless region?

We had great weather, And the old Venture just purred all of the way just like it wanted to get there as much as I did. Its been a few years since I did the ride. Plenty of good roads stopped for some good burgers and home to set around the campfire. Just don't get that many days like that to get out and enjoy. I guess that's what makes them so great to have. Still a couple more to plan a route for before the weather changes. Orlin

N3FOL started following Sharkroad exhaust
-
From their website, it looks like it comes with an L shaped bracket for the RSV and it will fit. I don't have one, but it looks like an easy install. FWIW, it is louder than stock as advertised. If you decide to get one, please post a sound clip when you get the chance.
-
Any one try this exhaust system on their rsv ? I'm wondering if they just slip on and no alterations to anything else on bike

Got his orders from the devil. There really is a battle going on that we can't really see except in the results. That battle has been going on since day 1 and will soon be over. The King is coming!

I bet they both have been watching videos and noticed the CanAm has come out with a Spyder and they are discussing if it will mean total demise for the likes of them.
