  1. Past hour
  2. @sleepy2 My thoughts and prayers to you and your nephew's family and close friends. My your nephew rest in peace. Not surprised about the price of anti-freeze from a moto dealer. The next time I do my anti-freeze, I am simply sticking with Prestone which I seem to have no problems with. Take your time and enjoy the install. The fruits of your labor will show in no time. Got called in to work once again, but at least I was able to ride and take advantage of the nice weather we are having.

  4. Haven't had much time this past week as Nephew passed away from liver and pancreas problems he had been battling for a few years, he did pass peacefully though! Was able to pick up some Antefreeze the other day(boy has it gone up)from dealer! One had it at $20 per liter and other was $13 per liter (Ipone) Have all cooling drains tightened up and am ready to fill with Antifreeze but will triple check everything first. Also ready to install new Voltage Regulator, oil filter then fill with oil.
  5. Pull the plugs and see if it’ll turn. Check the oil to see if it’s full of gas to Rule out a hydrolock situation.
  6. I ordered an Air Filter for my SVTC, but I got the wrong air filter. This is what they sent me (see pic) and it will have to go back as a return. The one I got is way too big. Would anyone know the exact part number of the air filter for the 2018 SVTC?
  7. Looking for set up for little cargo attachment for tow ball. With cargo it blocks rear lights and tag
  8. Good morning to all! TGIF. Weather is great here in SE Pa. Have been riding for the last 2 days after all the rain last weekend. Cutting the grass today and I just might have enough daylight to wash the truck. Enjoy your Friday.
  9. I own a 2009 Royal Star Tour Deluxe S. It is a weekend rider for short trip and only has 7500 miles on it. It has been meticulously maintained and I've never had an ounce of trouble with it. I recently experienced a starting issue where I heard a loud "clunk" like metal hitting metal when attempting to start and then the motor would not turn. The solenoid would click, but the engine did not turn. I thought my battery had lost charge, so I put it on the charger overnight. The next day, she started fine. After a handful of rides, the issue repeated itself. Again, thinking my battery was low, I put it on the charger and it started fine the next time. Unfortunately, it happened a third time and the solenoid clicks, but the motor will not turn even after a battery charge. I had the battery load tested and it passed with no issues. I replaced the solenoid, but that did not help. After reading through a few posts, I am thinking it might be my starter clutch. Perhaps something has broken internally and not allowing the motor to turn? I would like some advice on how I could diagnose the root cause to ensure I am fixing the right problem. If it is the starter clutch, is it a repair that I can do myself and are there any available instructions? Thanks in advance for your help!
  10. Last week
  11. I was in the Army from 67 to 70 when we had a half million GIs in Viet Nam. Fortunately for me, I was sent to S. Korea. But, a friend died over there, my first cousin was shot in the abdomen but survived and another friend came home with a creased helmet that was shot off his head. Almost everybody my age, 82, knows someone who died over there. I am a student of history and the heroes who sacrificed themselves in WWI and WW2, the Korean war and all the others are owed a tremendous debt. If anyone would like to know more about the war in the Pacific during WWII, watch Battle 360 on youtube. It's a series of programs mostly following the Aircraft carrier Enterprise, the only carrier we had that survived the entire war. It's an amazing story.
  12. Amen. We owe them more.
  13. I used AI to generate this image. The message is something I posted in 2024 after a friend called. He lost his son to suicide because of PTSD. Please feel free to take, share and use it however you like. I believe it's an important message to get across. I've seen several posts this year from friends and family that have lost people they love to this unseen ghost.
  14. I remember when I bought my TriGlide and rode it home it had gotten dusty dark and started a light rain before I got home I could not find the right switch for anything. The next day I went out and just sit on that bike and look at the location of the different switches. That may have played into the reason I went and got my RSV back. But both of those bikes are gone now.
  15. Dog gone it, I hope you and your small dog are okay and we get to see ya in Asheville
  16. We have rain this weekend and maybe all of next week here in the Bluegrass State.
  17. Asheville is only about 80 miles from me. If I can make it work out, I'll ride up for at least a day visit. I've had some rotator cuff surgeries on both shoulders. Thought I was doing well until 2 weeks ago when I dislocated my left shoulder saving my small dog from the neighbor's pitbull's jaws. My dog survived with some punctures and muscle damage. My shoulder MRI is this Wednesday, May 27th. Hopefully, I won't have any residual damage.
  18. I have no need for lit up switches on my RSV MM or my VR. But last year, a 78 year old friend gifted me his '02 Goldwing. At least for my needs, it could really use some (at least dim) switch illumination. I think Honda added illumination from 2004 or newer.
  19. Still riding my '88 Royale with two person California Friendship 3 sidecar.
  20. I was just wondering, as it does say it's usable in aluminum and cast iron! I have been using Honda antifreeze the last few times with no problems then I saw the Prestone fluid while grocery shopping in Walmart. I know about what shouldn't e in it, like silica and additives!
  21. I made mine I reserved site B9 at KOA west on Wiggins Road.
  22. FWIW, I've used Prestone coolant on my RSV and had done it twice already. So far so good.
  23. I haven't made any reservations yet because I don't know where I'm staying at yet.
  24. Silicates not good for bikes. I don't remember what the specs are, but there is some antifreeze out there for cars that is usable. You have to read ingredients and become initial friendly.
  25. That is true, car anti-freeze has silicates in it that can wreck the seals in the bike's systems, use an anti-freeze that is designed for bikes.
  26. i have always heard you should NOT put the same antifreeze you put in your car in your bike.
  27. was wondering if this would be usable in my 2012RSV or do I have to go to dealer?
  28. When the only bike I had was my Kawasaki, my wife complained about the uncomfortable little seat so I looked at some baggers. A coworker had a 2004 Kawasaki Voyager for sale for $4,000 and I test rode it but it seemed to be too top heavy for me. I then went to the Honda Dealer in Miami and test rode a 2006 Honda Goldwing. It was even gold colored. The wing has a much lower center of gravity. I wanted the wing but it only had about 6k miles on it and this was 2010 and the price was $16,995. I just couldn't justify spending that much on a bike. I then bought a 2004 Kawasaki Concours with about 21k miles on it for $3,000. It was a nice bike but the most top heavy bike I've ever ridden. It has a 7.5 gallon tank on top and less rake which made it even more tricky at slow speed. The Concours forum even has a section for discussing how many times you dropped it! I sold it after a couple of years.
