Is Oiled cooled engines have similar life expectancy as water cooled engines. Know any draw backs to oil cooled engines. Just doing some research for my son who is looking at purchasing a Ducati when he returns from his Deployment.

Does anyone have some pictures of the Barons tachometer mounted on the master cylinder cover of their bike? I'm going to be purchasing a tach and wanted to see what this set up looks like prior to purchasing. Also, what are you thoughts on it? Does it do everything you want it to? Does it look nice? I am looking at purchasing a used Venture. What things should I be looking at before I put my money down? One of the bikes that I am looking at is a 2003 with 220,000 km's (136000 miles) on it, is there lots of life left in this bike?

I've just pulled the trigger on the complete set, plus the passenger armrests. Should be here in a couple of days. I liked the reviews, and I like that it's Canadian made. When my wife finds out I've spent considerably more $ on a machine I justified purchasing on the savings in fuel costs, there may be blood in the water. Ah well. Maybe if I explain that the new seat and arm rests are to make it more comfortable for her to ride with me...

Hello everyone, New here and excited about my purchase but confused.....I'm actually in the purchasing and transporting process at this time. I'm purchasing a 2007 Royal Star Venture in Ohio and trying to arrange to get it here to Florida. Confusing I might add. I have never done this before and I'm seeking suggestions if anyone has any. I am looking at purchasing a 2005 Royal Star Tour Deluxe, this is an upgrade from the 1982 Honda Deluxe I go back and forth to work on. My mechanical knowledge of bikes is minimal to changing oil, filter and charging battery, oh I can change light bulbs to. I have a few questions; do they make a lowering kit for it? Is there anything I should be cautious about or look for on this bike that would tell me to avoid it (other than the leaks, drips and signs of damage)? Is there some other instrument cluster you could get for it be either aftermarket or off a different model bike (just don’t care for that look)? Thanks!

Good Day.. I am new to the Venture Rider Forum and requesting some help. I am considering to purchase a 2004 Midnight Venture with 12,000 miles that appears to be very clean and honorable. Is there anything that I should be aware of prior to purchasing that would make this year bike a poor choice? Service records are not available. I look forward to reading your responses. Richard
