  1. Am at a conference in Savannah GA and had the opportunity to get my picture taken on an OCC chopper made for the Army National Guard. Thought I would attach it here. It is pretty big. Almost too much stuff on it. Paint job is fantastic! Will attach more when I get home and can resize the ones off my camera
  2. National Cycle's Neutron Star http://www.best-motorcycle.com/yamaha/neutron-star.shtm
  3. I know it's been a while, but I have finally uploaded several photos from our June trip to Utah. Several of my riding buddies and I rode from Central KY to Grand Junction, CO where we met our wives who flew out. From there we rode a 6 day loop through the Utah National parks while also taking in Monument Valley and Lake Powel. Here is the link to the photos: http://www.traynorphoto.com/utah/Utah/index Enjoy! Dennis
  4. From a ride on Sunday the26th of October. Three of us on our Tour De Luxes headed out through the Dragon, over to Maggie Valley and back through Smoky Mountains National Park by way of the Blue Ridge Parkway. In Maggie Valley we went to Wheels Trough Time, a great little museum!
  5. On 9/11 I would like to say a big THANK YOU to all First Responers. Where would the USA be without the Firemen, Police officers, EMT's, Medics, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, & National Guard. You are there when we need you. God Bless the USA.:usa:
  6. locals who live near "padre island ", off the Texas middle and lower coast, love to see these "gulf storms", roll in. reason being is that they ALWAYS wash up more "gold doubloons" and "silver pieces of eight", onto the beaches. of course it is illegal to pick them up, to keep, because our govt. in it's benevolence has made the whole island into a "national seashore park".so , if you find coins, chains, or precious stones on the island, you are SUPPOSED to stop by the park ranger's office and turn them in. YEAH, RIGHT! just jt:whistling:
  7. When our US Navy Veterans group wanted to go for a ride on Skyline Drive, which is in the Shenandoah National Forest I found that the USGS issues what is called the America the Beautiful Access Pass which will get people with permanent disabilities into National Parks and other National Recreation Areas for free... I showed the Park Ranger my VA disability paperwork and now I have one!!!!!! To my surprise our entire group has permanent disabilities (as deemed by the Veterans Administration) and we all have the passes now. It also MAY get you a 50% discount on camping and other things... It will NOT get you free parking. Click HERE to learn more.
  8. I don't know if anyone has seen this yet, but WOW!!!!!!! 6-8 years old.... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKCVS57j284]YouTube - The Cactus Cuties sing The National Anthem Old Video[/ame]
  9. Hey Gang. Don't forget to ride your scoots to work tomorrow and support the National Ride to Work Day effort! For more info visit http://www.ridetowork.org.
  10. I made it home this afternoon after a 4050 mile trip from KY to Utah, an incredible journey. We met up with our wives in Grand Junciton, CO and from there we went to Moab, Monument Valley, Lake Powell at Page, AZ, Zion National Park, Cedar Breaks National Monument, Bryce National Park and Capital Reef National Park. The parks are incredible and much to our surprise the ride to and from the parks were equally as incredible. The bike ran well but got really poor gas mileage. I only had 5 tanks about 30 mpg. Most were about 28 mpg with a low of 22. I was towing a small trailer (Unigo) and rode 2-up while on the loop through Utah. The Gold Wings with me did much better on gas. They would always use 1/2 to 1 gallon less than me on each fill up. Here are a few photos from the trip. Dennis
  11. Deb and I got out last Sunday and rode up to one of our favorite destination Rabbit Hash Kentucky. A wide spot in the road along the Ohio river between Louisville and Cincinnati. It's like stepping back in time a hundred years, very quaint. It made some national recongnition on the national nightly news a few years back when the local dog that hangs at the General Store was voted Mayor:rotf: You can Goggle it for some more info. Anyway here's some pics.... 12. Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York. This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico. But as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, and the cargo was forever lost. The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise, and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great, that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day. The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5th and is known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo. WHAT ?? You expected something educational from me??
  13. Just to really confuse you. Guess who just signed up, pony tail and all, to be a volunteer at the Republican National Convention this summer............

    Windshields

A buddy shared this with me. Kind of tells a compelling story IMHO. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDXwcgSYjws]YouTube - National Cycle Switchblade Windshield[/ame] Cheers,
  15. Yesterday afternoon I went by a local independant MC dealer, Cycle Parts, to pick up a copy of Friction Zone, a west coast rag. The last couple of times I dropped by it was closed and I just figured it was for the holidays. Same thing this time, so I got out and peaked thru the windows. Nothing. The store walls were bare. Closed out of business.... I received an anouncement about an auction being held next Wednesday from Lone Eagle about another local independant store. National Cycle Discount Center. AUCTION The first store was nice but didn't have a ton of inventory on the shelves. National was loaded, and there are over 1400 items listed in the auction catalog. And a lot of these are multiples. This may just be a coincendence that these two stores were located right here in Sacramento, but it may be a sign of the times. And I wonder if this is happening in other parts of the country as well??? I plan on attending the National auction next Wednesday because they have some big sized items that I've been wanting, and I may get lucky. And.. anything else of interest that ends up going for cheap.
  16. I wondering if any OF's (over 62) on the board have picked up one of those Lifetime Senior Park Passes for $10 bucks? And if so where did you go to apply for it? Seems like it would be a good thing to have if you plan on visiting any National Parks in the future, and the $10 bucks is kinda cheap......
  17. I reccomend doing a Google Search of this subject " Deep Oil " ( not peak oil ) You will find several hits will come up. Read up, then ask yourself why we are not hearing much about this on the national news outlets ??
  18. Since I bought my new 1997 RS I have problem with the small piece of Lexan they call Winshield. I'm 5'10" and it seems to be more a deflector (IT cachs all the wind and send it too my chestt and face). There is no brand, and I'm quite sure is not an Yamaha OEM, since the brackest are more like the National Cycle stile than the originals. Yesterday searching for any mark or logo on the Lexan, I found a code NC136 (A confirmation of National Cycle may be?) but nothing else. Some one else has the same kind of winshield on the Royal Star. This is about 11" on top of the notch for the headlight.. I would like to know where and what to order for replacement before to buy a full new tall Yamaha one. Thanks
  19. North/South Hot Springs to Harrison or the other way around. This is national scenic byway route.
