  1. What is this part, where does it go, what does it do and is it important or not. During the most recent carb maintenance this weekend, the magnet picked this up from inside the center of the v In between the cylinder heads. It seems like I have seen it before but for the life of me I can't remember where it goes.

    need help

07 venture...6900 miles. purchased new.........i'm getting no spark at the left rear cylinder...plug checks good....other three are firing.........new battery........i really can't make heads or tails of the wiring diagram......is there any fuse anywhere that would affect just one plug?
  3. Well, thanks to MiCarl, I have a working set of gauges. I just need a bezel with lenzes I can see through. It starts and runs well now, and shifts through all the gears (on the center stand). The Computer display is indicating a battery problem and a oil problem. I am guessing the battery light is from the electrolyte sensor not being installed, since I have an AGM battery on this one. The oil light, though, is befuddling me, as I cant seem to find the oil pressure switch. A heads up on the location of that would be helpful. Once again, the people of this site are astounding in their helpfulness, and I think I may not ever be able to say thank you enough.
  4. I found this tip on the Venturers site...ordered the caps from Reidsupply and aquired the bolts from local Sears hardware...works great!! Inexspensive alternative to more exspensive mod seen on e-bay and other sites... You can easily make your own quick removal bolt set for your saddlebags. No tools needed to remove the bags for service or cleaning. Parts needed for 1-bike are 6 ea. M6X36 and 2 ea. M6X55 socket head cap screws with 1.0 thread pitch. The t-cap heads can be ordered from Reidsupply.com and the item number is SLK-1200. If you want to see the screws the item # are brb-532086p and brb-532094p and there is a limit of 100 each on the bolts, but not on the plastic T-heads. I was able to find my cap screws locally and I didn't have to buy more then I needed. Check with your local hardware store, Lowe's or Home Depot. Just press the T-Caps onto the bolt heads in a vice or small press. I used a drill press to push them in. Also thanks go to Gunny (Butch) for his help to me......Ken http://venturers.org/Tech_Library/attachments/Bolts&Caps1.jpg http://venturers.org/Tech_Library/attachments/DrillPress.jpg http://venturers.org/Tech_Library/attachments/Bolts&Caps3.jpg I used a large C-clamp to press the caps on the bolts...works well...I hope that this helps someone!

Can anybody tell me if you can disassemble the mirrors on an 89 VR so as to put different heads on the mounts.
  7. Just a heads up folks, spammers are at it again. Last night I received a notification from Paypa! ( no that's not a typo) saying that my acount may have been accessed by a third party and to update my information at the link provided for my "security". Needless to say I forwarded the email to Paypal. Thanks to someone posting this type of warning earlier in the year, I was aware of what was going around and didn't do something I would regret. Thought others might appreciate the heads up as much as I did. Cheers Wayne
  8. this time , it isn't so good. the lab results on the fluid that was removed from her lungs, had "free floating" lymphoma cells in it. right now they are calling it "lymphomia", because they don't know what type it is, or where it is , in her body. my mind is not working too good, right now, and if it weren't for spell check, ya'll wouldn't be able to make heads nor tails out of this post. just jt
  9. Critical at best. If we don't get shut down again this evening, I will be amazed. I am feverishly looking for a solution via a new host. That will take some time though and a LOT of work to move everything. I hope I can keep it going until the move but just wanted to give you a heads up. If you come here and find that the site is down, just try again later. I promise that I am doing all that I can to get the problem resolved. At this time, I'm getting flooded with "too many users" database errors.
  10. So the oil get pumped up to the cams and then drips off onto the heads, but where does it go from there???????? I am quite used to looking at automotive heads and there are drain holes to get the oil back into the pan, but I can't seem to find any on a first gen. The reason I'm asking this, is that when I was doing the tappet adjustment, one side of the head was full of oil, so how come, it just can't keep pumping it up there with no place to drain it away. An inquiring mind needs an answer.
  11. ...of the R/K muffler brackets ready to go. I just wanted to give you G2 folks the heads up if you were waiting to get a set
