I have a 1st Gen. I'm a peg fan. But I would like to either lower my pegs or raise my seat so it is a little farther from my seat to my feet. Do floorboards lower your feet? Has anyone made the seat a little taller?

Well I have been thinking about buying a full touring bike and the venture had my attention till I sat on it. I'm just 5'8" so I was up on the balls of my feet which is not going to work. Any lowering ideas out there?

I just picked up the 02 midnight venture i won on ebay. I am going to be needing couple of things 1 The chrome ring around the headlight And 2 The chrome whatchamacalit on the top of the fairing that covers the windshield bolts. I also could use the front outer fairing but I think I can fix mine so not as important If any one has either of these laying around let me know what you want for them. I also have a question I live at an altitude of 6500 feet, and when I rev the bike and let off I get a popping from the stock mufflers, do yall think I will need to get the carbs rejetted? Thanks guys, I have been reading this forum for a while and will soon be following some of the advice I have seen here. -

Weather was 50 degrees, so I took the bike out for a WET ride. Everything going great and then my cruise went off all by it self and I could not get it on again. Shut it off turn it on, Nothing. Few miles further down the road as I kept pushing set, cancel, set, cancel, etc. I shifted my feet off the highway pegs and realized my heal had been resting slightly against the rear brake. Guess What. :whistling:Cruise works! What a relief thought I was going to have to tear into the switch or maybe replace it. Next time this happens, I think I check my feet first. Jay

Just wanted to let you all know what happened yesterday. I had just got off work and had not been on the bike more than sixty seconds, when a lady turned left into me. I saw her car coming and I thought if I could hit the curb deadon I would have a better chance that way instead of her TBoneing me. Well I didn't make it that far, she caught me about two feet up from the rear of the bike on the left side and the next thing I know is that I'm airborn. I went about 20 feet and wound up going into grass on my right shoulder, doing at least two rolls and winding up on my hands and knees. Nothing broke and only 1 little cut on my right arm, although my right shoulder feels like it's ready to fall off. The lady was given a ticket for improper lane useage and now Nance and I get to play the insurance company game over the bike. I really do want to thank all the members for their thoughts and prayers, and we have allready started to look for a new bike. ( Sorry Redneck it will probably be another First Gen.)
