:sign09:Boy am I in serious trouble now. Have been searching high and low for a trunk, trunk mounting bracket, grab rails and passenger trunk backrest to add to my Royal star Tour Classic II 1998. Have finally found most of these parts but the bottom part of the trunk is badly broken. Found another bottom that is intact and now I need to sort this out. Need to exchange the bottom part, dismantle the trunk and put the parts in the trunk itself to save space and so forth. O.K. what is my problem? I live in Iceland and need someone to help me with this. Need someone that is willing to have all the items shipped to his place and is willing to sort things out, dismantle, pack and ship to Iceland. This is quite a lot of work but I am surely willing to pay for the assistance by any reasonable rate. Is there anybody out there who has the time, skills and the kindness to help one little eskimo pulling this through? I have not yet bought the items since I don´t want to do it until I see through the dismantle and shipping issue, but the parts are available. Like I said to my wife - Just got to have it !!!!!!!!

There's been a ton of posts written about plastic repair on fairings, but can anyone who's successfully patched a large sized hole in their plastic fairing gimme a hint on what you used and how it turned out. I have two fairly good sized holes in the bottom of the trunk of the '91 that need to be filled and faired. Since they are right in front the area supported by the 4 thru-screws, and right on the leading edge of the trunk, I thought I'd try to lay down a reinforcing fiberglass matt over the entire area either on the inside or underneath. Any advise on what you used to fill the void of the missing pieces of ABS. I work with fiberglass all the time, but with ABS, and spider cracks, I'm a little aprehensive.... I didn't spot the damage until after I bought the bike, and this is the first time I've haven't been able to put 2 and 2 together to figure out how the damage happened. The bottom of the trunk was fractured , and the mounting ears on the frame plus the ears on the mounting rack were broken off. It took one hell of a hit. But.... there is absolutely no other damage to to the trunk, saddle bags, chrome rails and lighting, or surrounding area. The trunk is 100% other than the bottom damage. Nothings bent or broken. It's got me scratching my head.... A 400lb gorilla maybe???

I have a oily like blue-green leak at bottom of cylinder #1. I took the decorative fins off and snapped a picture that is posted below - not great picture - but I have this fluid leaking from around the rubber ring you see at bottom of cylinder. Now my concern is that I have a seal or gasket bad inside that is allowing the coolant and oil to mix and leak - since the fluid is oil-like - but blue-green in color - which would make sense if the coolant and oil is mixing. Obviously - this is not a good thing and likely costly repair. Anyone have any thoughts or alternative diagnoses? Anyone run into same thing? What am I looking at here for a repair - pretty much pull engine and replace gasket at bottom of cylinder? Or what? Would appreciate any thoughts, suggestions, recommendations, tips. Apologize for the quality of the photo if you can see what I am talking about.

Did anyone every have the windshield on their 2nd Gen start to crack on them from the bottom up.Well guess what ? Mine is starting to crack (2) at the bottom .I had the inner and outer part of the fairing at the windshield replaced because it had broken (part holding the windshield) a little while back and I think they over tighten the screws holding the windshield. I`am waiting to hear back from my Dealer now.Wish me luck Eh ?

ANy Advise Out There!!!! I purchased my 02 Midnight Venture about 3 years ago with 100 miles. Basically, new but had been sitting for a 2 plus years. From day one the biike has been bottoming out. I had the rear shock checked by two dealer and both said the shock was fine and not leaking. Well afetr two years of fighting with Yamaha I finally got them to replace the shock. Had the shock installed and wouldn't you know it ....my first time out with two up we bottom out. I must admit that the bike didnt bottom out as much but it did and I couldn't believe it. When ridding two up our total weight does not exceed 380 pounds. Can it be something else? Is there any other setting that can be adjusted to get the tire more clearance from the rear fender? What I have read so far seems to suggest that most rsv shock problems have to do with oil leakage ....that hasn't been the case here.......any suggestions? Thanks

Hi All, I am trying to get my 90 working right. I do not think the owner before me did anything yet ride this bike and he did not even do much of that. I pulled the plugs and they were rusted on the outside. Also they looked as if they were burning right not black etc. I got my carb tune today and hooked it up to sync the carbs. I can bearly get them to move at an idle. when burping the bike they do jump up yet then settle down to the bottom of the scale. I can get the readings to change as one would expect with the balancing screws yet all at the bottom of the scales. Right now I am thinking a big vacumn leak what do you all think. Thanks DAZ
