  1. Yammer Dan is just a bit upset bc his first Gen comes with the state mandatory antique license plate, Youngsters marvel that its not in a museum....
  2. See?! I Knew Cheesehead was awesome, and correct.
  3. This may be off the path of what your asking, but there is a site called open road journey. You can scroll your state and see other riders and where they ride. You can modify it to your own liking and make your own adjustments. Just a thought...
  4. Mike, I will send a PM with my address. Was wondering if you sent anything or if the UPS guy hijacked my goods!! I would prefer them mailed as I would have space for other things...if that's OK and thank you !!!!
  5. One last thing...my color scheme happens to be the fastest....just saying
  6. +1 on using wunderground....
  7. My 2.3 cents worth is I am not a big fan of this method and I wouldn't object going back to the older method....
  8. I would certainly like to attend and would be available ....
  9. I wouldn't steal the sock either. For that same problem, try this: find a beer Cousy at the dollar store and cut it and pop it on. Match the color fornyour bike. It holds up well and dries quickly in the rain. ( vs. sock)... Credit( that I know of for me saying this) goes to the rider of the black cherry RSV owner/ rider at B2Moms at the BBQ...
  10. Graham....(chips) ahoy.....I want cookies now. thanks Steve.
  11. +1 on what Steve just said. I had rain X on for ONE day until, DHJ3/Dion said nope... I quickly took it off. Members have used pledge, wax and other assorted items, but the rain X on my shield just started to have an itty bitty spot of hazing and separation of the coating. If you still have it on, my recommendation is to remove the rain X ASAP to preserve your shield. On the forum search, nook up RAIN X and read the posts...
  12. Condolences and prayers to Dan and his family.
  13. The passenger should be like a sack of rice on the back and just relax. Have a chat prior explaining no sudden movements or shifting during turns, slow speeds and stops. To let you know when the passenger needs to shift weight or make adjustments. Other than that, the passenger although visually in your mind seems like you need to do more, you do not. Just sound fundamentals and a passenger that understands what you want/ don't want.
  14. Like Brake Pad I USUALLY back it in, if I can and I won't park where I have to struggle with backing up a hill since I can't get the right amount of leverage most times. although last week I pulled in at Solomon's castle.
  15. PS....don't mean to steal this original thread. We live close to sleepy hollow and yes the steak and eggs and or potatoes for $5 are hard to beat. Ozello is nice also. Check open road journey website. I have a few posted routes that you may enjoy from time to time..
  16. Just a suggestion...have you tried those medical grade foam rollers? I use them on my patients with tight ITB and they have helped tremendously. Stretch and use the roller 2-3 times a day and see if the IT band pain subsides. Even if you sell the wing, consider keeping on a stretching regimen to keep that pain in check. Also, let us folks here see and know about the GW for sale. Ya never know who is looking for one. Barry
  17. That's funny Patti bc I am envious of YOUR riding location. You can go N-S-E-W and find something new. This time of year can be unbearable but hey, we all have something somewhere we'd like to improve or change...if you head to Florida again, lets us know.
  18. Iron Ranger, I see your listed in Ocala. Ever been to Al and Jan's breakfast place out there on US40 near CR 315? I ride out there from spring hill somewhat regularly. Great food, nice riding and everyone accepted. It's a nice hidden gem along 40.
  19. I am up for it as long as I am not working and we can get a few more committed riders to go. I am also up for discussing possible towns to ride into.
  20. Dion, maybe it's me, but baby girls Bday trumps riding in the extreme humidity. Perhaps we can set a date to ride when your free/ off
  21. Brian, I have been my own road captain and have made plenty of routes. We can ride together soon. If you go on the website OPEN ROAD JOURNEY, click on Florida, and trips, look for barrycuda. I have posted some routes. I have more I haven't posted yet.
  22. Today was a great day for riding. M16A1MECH/ Steve was informing us all week about the STAR chapters run to Solomon's castle in Ona, Florida. My wife and I were going to meet them there since we had our own scenic route from where we live. The castle was nice and they had great food. As it turns out, my wife Kristen and I met Brake Pad and his partner Karen or the first time. They join us at the table and we all start getting to know each other. Later on the STAR guys and gals show up and i was able to see Steve and his lovely wife. Just for the record, I can never not be happy to see Steve. He is an awesome individual and is extremely low key. After lunch we all stood around admiring each others bikes. Brake Pad has a sweet Goldwing with blue pin striping. one of the STAR members was really into my diamond cut dog bones and seemed amazed at it. ( thanks Eusa1/Mike) Kristen and I thoroughly enjoyed spending our time meeting Mike and Steve and co. The trip was nice, but hot. However, the rain was kept at bay. Perhaps next time we can get Angry Amish and the new members from NPR, along w mike, Steve and anyone else to make another M&E some place in Florida. Thanks everyone for a great day!!!
  23. Can someone inform me on what's a color tune?? And how often should this be performed and why?
  24. Thanks for including the blog link. I enjoyed the pics and the stories. Very cool indeed.
