    Harley

Ok, it's a 2007 HD sportster. 883 L, bobber, has 12,800 miles. What it don't have and I will be adding is rear view mirrors and turn signals. I will also being changing the handle bars and sissy bar. Rode it home 9 miles and it's quick, handles very different from the RSTD and a lot firmer ride (yes, has shocks). So much shorter in length and seat height.

Won a Harley Sportster last night at Boomers bike night. Will get more details today when I pick it up. it's used but I won it.
  5. glad they found something to fix. when you feel like crap and they say we can't find anything wrong I really get worried. Get well soon and
  6. think the road glide is the # 1 stolen bike. um
  7. Thanks for the pics.
  8. Looks good.
  9. Are they 1" bars ? Be waiting for the test ride report. Looks like you may get some orders coming your way.
  10. lot of bikes have idle around 600 RPM but we need around 1000 RPM's I will try a sound test tomorrow. you can adjust on your test ride, just reach down and turn it up a little at a time and rev the engine up after turning up. you should be able to tell from the sound. when you sync the carbs you should turn the idle up some then back it off when your done.
  11. do you have the idle too low? around 1000 RPM's should be good.
  12. Get well quick Puc. your supposed to being picking up bikes not bugs.
  13. would like to see a night shot from the saddle position.
  14. have you checked the throttle cables to make sure they are adjusted right. the cable may have been stretched or out of adjustment not allowing the slides to move right. was the grips changed before this started or maybe just came loose. Seen this happen a couple of times and get this same type of behavior. won't hurt to look.

    wont rev

Do as puc says and he'll get you going. remember first to check the tank for rust if you don't the tank will just fill the carbs with junk wasting your work.
  18. I add air with my gauge on the air compressor chuck and today thought I'd use the slime compressor I carry on the bike and I knew it ran high on the reading but I had big reading difference with the gauge I grabbed then tried another and another. I also add because of the feel on the bike but always used the same two gauges until this morning. thought after looking at old posts their may something new and more accurate out there. guess not but as much as they talk about checking air in our bike tires they would have a good gauge to sell us.
  19. Joe, that's way out of my price range
  20. I know everyone loves it when someone brings up old post, so here we go. Checking tire pressures this morning on the wife's car and my 07 RSTD. Thought this was going to ne a simple fill the tires with air and have a good day. Well the first tire on the car looked low this is when it started. Got a gauge out (pencil type) to check the pressure it read 15psi and I thought it can't be that low so I got another gauge out (dial) and it read 5psi low, then I tried my old stand by off the compressor (like you see at tire stores with the gauge and filler in same gauge) higher than others by 4psi. Then I checked with the gauge on the slime air pump I carry in the bike 8psi low. then another stick gauge and it was 1/2 psi lower than my normal gauge I use on the compressor. so I use that one to set the air pressure on the car and bike. This is not about what kind of tires or air pressure to use but the gauges used to check the air. So do you have a tire gauge in the bike that you really trust or the one your using and the bike handles fine to you. I was so tired of trying all the gauges I forgot to try my HD hand pump gauge to see what it read. So after all this my question is their a newer accurate gauge out there or place to get your gauge checked accurately? If you read all his thank you, if you know a better answer that would be great.
  21. think the younger gen would like it but I'd get in a wreck because I was looking at the rear view section or looking at who's calling. I don't do well with video games either so I won't be wearing one while riding, even if it was a gift. I'd fall down wearing it and walking around the yard.
  22. you can tell the one on the left broadsided the one flipped over
  23. Got to thinking ( not allowed to do that at home) after seeing where you've camped on your adventures I don't think she's afraid of any old snake. Thinking she must of been shopping and you snuck out for a quick ride on the Hex and found yourself farther away from home and came up with the berry picken story trip:no-no-no: caus when you got home and she was already home from shopping. didn't see any berries in the video or anywhere. Thinking (again) that young lady Tippy smack you around a little and your going to be telling people that the marks are from your berry pickin trip.:whistling:
  24. Nice story but! How did you get to ride 20 miles without Tippy?
  25. I thought this was going to be about steelers that overcharge for parts and work that don't work or get done.
