  2. well you can hear the difference smooths it out. not a big rpm difference but noticeable.
  3. well wiring is the same took sensor back got a different one. still mv. back probed the sensor running 1.5 at idle and 2.3 3grand nothing showing on puter:think:
  4. well same thing. double checked wiring. pin7 is ground pin 6 sensor then pin 17 is ref5v. in the first page it says pin 16 then it says pin 17. if i put my multimeter in terminals i get 5v ref and ground works. found bike shop removed re stricter so put it back in good thing part house is close. but numbers still show in mv
  5. did you just have the ign switch on acc for it to work. after you solder the two rows of pins clean the board where there is dirt film with an eraser just to get crud off. that is what i did to get mine functioning. had same problem. took me two trys
  6. well how do you read the tps at idle and wothrottle and do you go with the lowest setting when you program. i take it you read it at the bottom left of the screen. would like to do the finishing touches this week and ride all weekend. not going far as dont want to get stranded again. rod

  12. thanks for the info if i need the stand I'll use 2-4s or bigger. but for every day will do on side stand. i have had to many cuf surgery's to lift or pull the bike. dont want any more. didnt even think about boards.
  13. now i have a different question. i cant put the bike up on the center stand by my self. will it set pressures on side stand or will this hurt something

  15. three are rusted all the way off and two are paper thin with cracks the outlet with the bends are the paper ones
  16. well so far they have been to high priced on ee bay as there all complete systems. is there after market headers for this old of a bike to replace just the box :confused07:
  17. does any one know where to get the. exhaust box on the bottom of the 83 model. was going to farmerize but pipe broke in half. right before my eyes. that was where that smoke in the sky came from.lol cant afford fancy stuff just want to ride this parts bike.
  18. well took cap back off rear master. found snot inside hole. must not have cleaned as good as i thought. its clean this time.
  19. the way i would test is at the plug behind cmu. is there a voltage drop between the in and out wire. mine is about 1 volt max. the back of my high low switch was filthy cleaned this up and head lamp was brighter and display worked correct. but dont go by me. first time repairing this. by the way was 100 where i worked on mine fan saved me. took me a little over 2 hrs to complete.
  20. well i just finished doing my display. then had to replace headlight. and had to clean high low switch for headlights. i had rings around the solder joints and crud between terminals. and by the way the eraser was the greatest tip for cleaning board. all warning lights are out:):):)wew something worked the first try:cool10: sorry was just about to give up this bike has fought the whole way back to life.....
  21. well it worked fine. turns on when needed. at least some thing works on this bike.
  22. my problem is the back reservoir how to fill correctly all i see is the fill plug.
  23. well took the bike out today made it about 6 miles. started to slow down. then i stopped and could not move. didnt bring any tools with me that was stupid. stuck on one of the busiest street in town. cant move. cop didnt even stop. a homeowner let me use his small socket set to bleed the linked brake front caliper. then i could move how can you tell how full the reservoir is supposed to be. i think it was to full and expanded putting on the brakes or am i missing something. flushed and rebuilt all parts made sure all holes were open dont know how to check amount of fluid. filled till full.
  24. yes it was the b/g wire that was grounded so the relay is ok. hooked it back up to sensor. will find out if it gets hot and if it does just have to replace sensor. wow something was easy. thanks:shock3: now what will happen????
  25. well i jumped the compressor found inlet hose was plugged with mud. then i cleaned the splice at center of bike left side. took control off of bike and plugged back in. works when it wants and makes the speakers crackle even when radio is off. took back off control. re soldered the terminals the wire plugs into. and where the jumper wire leads off board to front. it likes to set codes e2 and e4 then restarts itself its like the terminals wont conduct continuous power.
