  1. I don't run any at all in the front. The reason you put it in the rear it to change the center of gravity. The front end is a little swirly without any in the rear for me. So, I run about 4o lbs pert near all the time. Makes the front end more solid in the corners. Every little bit you put in the rear moves the CG forward, do so until you get the right balance. I see no point in moving it rearward by adding to the front. If you want to stiffen the front up, better to change the fork oil IMO.
  2. Interesting, that is not what I understood it to be.
  3. It got me to thinking, so I looked it up....This is directly from the manual: "Since this model is equipped with a self-canceling system, the turn signals lights will self-cancel after the vehicle has traveled both about 150 m (490 ft) and for approximately 15 seconds....snip.....NOTE: The self-cancelling system only operates when the vehicle is moving, so that the turn signals will not self-cancel while you are stopped at an intersection." /end manual quote. I see nothing about a lean detector either, never heard of that on our bikes.
  4. IIRC, the manual says something like 537 feet. Not sure exactly about the nuber, but I do recall it being more than 500 and a non even number.
  5. Man, you have some of the best trailer mfg right there in middle Georgia. One that I am considering is Kingdom Trailers. They have reutilized some of the Mobile home building facilities there. Has all the features of a much higher priced trailer.
  6. The existing plug should be both the male and female plug together. One side has no wires. They need to be added. I did this (or rather had the dealer do this.) and it worked fine for up to 5a of things you want to operate with the key in the acc or run position. The fuse however is in the right side leg fairing. PITA if you blow it over the other box IMO.
  7. Just a note on how they are making their money.....Pay Pal will pay MM interest on money with them, but for that you MUST give them your SSN. I did not give PP my SSN until I was getting interest. They have to report it in some cases. This site is paying 0% interest and they state that up front on the very first page. No doubt they decided to make their money totally off the float. The float is the time they have YOUR money before they really have to pay it out. PP also makes money on this with the transfers coming out of your account into theirs until the transaction is complete. I sure don't see why they need your SSN unless that is a banking rule, could be.
  8. Clutch slipping is not uncommon even at this mileagae. Some folks have even reported it much earlier. I doubt you will ever have to replace the friction plates, they just don't seem to wear in a wet clutch. I keep the bike in gear all the time even when stopped and there was no wear on mine at 47k. But the pressure plate is not the best design and perhaps one of the weaker areas on an otherwise fine machine. You can pick up a Barnett conversion (SR2) and a gasket and install it yourself with the bike on the sidestand. This is 98% certain to cure clutch slipping if it is mechanical. The Barnett uses a 6 spring unit versus Mama Yammies 2 spring unit. When done, you can feel a little more pressure on the clutch lever, but not too much. Well woth the ~$140 for the Barnett and the gasket IMO. IIRC, there is a tutorial on this site to do the changeover. HTH Knot
