  1. If that doesn't touch your heart you don't have one!
  2. Go to Youtube and listen to Vance Hines Monster Ovals on a Venture. They sound real nice. I'm going to try them on my Tour Deluxe next spring.
  3. I just got a set from Slowrollwv my self. He does very nice work, they look great. Also a set of twinky covers. Perfect.
  4. Just happened across a very good documentary on Netflix. It's called Runaway Slave. It concerns the social plight of the black community from a conservative perspective. Much better show than the title may lead you to believe.
  5. I got them. Thanks again. The guys (and gals) on this site are the best.
  6. Thank you very much. I'm going to grab them if I can.
  7. I've seen a lot of side covers on Royal Stars with a strip of chrome down the center of the cover. I can't find it anywhere on the net. Can anyone tell me where they got theirs? Thanks, Scott
  8. Just reading how everyone is blaming "big oil" tells me we are screwed. Your government has caused this but brainwashed all the sheep to point fingers and lay blame elsewhere. They stopped us drilling anywhere their may be oil in the gulf, invite Brazil to drill in the same places and tell them we will be their biggest customer. It's supply and demand. Yes we are producing more oil than last year but we are far behind where we should be. The price of gas directly correlates with the outrageous cost of oil which we are buying from our glorious leaders Muslim brothers. He is successfully draining our wallets and shipping our $$ overseas while convincing you it's the oil mans fault. There has been talk in Washington that if the price of gas drops they will levy a gas tax to bring it back up. What does that tell you about our leaders manipulation of us. Soon he will have us begging to take the oil industry over and we will be just like Venezuela's people who don't even have toilet paper to wipe their butts. WAKE up and quit buying the garbage from the state run media or we will all be slaves to our own government. Quit blaming the very people that gave us what we needed to become the greatest country that ever was.
  9. I'm jealous. I sat on one at a bike show this winter and fell in love with it. I just couldn't get the wife on board with the dollars so I found a new leftover '09 Tour Deluxe. Hopefully a CCT in a few years. Nice bike!
  10. I wired them to the blue (hot when key is on) wire so they will work whenever I want them. Good thought on the ground, I'll check that out. Thanks guys, Scott
  11. Has anyone had any bad experience with the plastic chrome fender tips? I'm not sure if I want to do all the work to bolt the metal one to the rear fender when I can just stick a plastic tip on. Will they last? My brother-in-law has a metal tip bubbled and pitted so I know they aren't perfect and removing everything necessary on the rear end doesn't thrill me.
  12. No I didn't do the relay at this time. I'm kind of pressed for time so I just factory wired it for now. I'll make it right later on. I've done a fair amount of wiring in the past just never saw a switch show juice when it is in the off position. Only one wire to the switch (hot) and grounding thru the buckets the way they came. I was just asking so I will have the parts (possible new switch) I need when I run the relay later on. I'm not sure how much juice may trip the relay and I intend to run it with the switch on the light bucket. Thanks guys, Scott
  13. Just installed passing lights and for some reason I still have voltage to lights even when the switch on the bucket is off. Shows 12.4 when on and shows 4.3 going to the lights when it is switched off. The lights don't light up but shouldn't it show zero? Do I have a bad switch? Scott
  14. You sure have toured some awesome country. I'm jealous.
  15. Why race when you can just wait for the HD to break down and just gently roll on by.
  16. Sitting here looking at my 11 yr old Golden, made me tear up. Sorry for your pain and I know you are right about that reunion day. God surely wouldn't create heaven without our best buddies to share it with us.
  17. The helmet debate goes right along with the seatbelt laws. Big brother is going to take us from cradle to grave in a bubble so we never get our hair messed up. Every time I see someone on a bicycle with a helmet I laugh and wonder when we became such a country of sissies. Men went into battle in WWII with less armor than most wear on their motorcycle. Stop looking at the close up view and stand back and take the 20,000 foot view. Why does the federal gov. care so much about your head? Because when they run all the insurance companies out of business and take over health care then they have to pay for your flattened mellon. That costs them money that they are planning to line their pockets with. Just how long do you think they are going to let us ride these "dangerous motorcycles"? Helmets now, one day our bikes will go away too!
  18. Just got my Carbon One freestanding lift adapter unpacked and I am impressed. This is top notch quality and packed expertly. If anyone is on the fence about one of these get off and buy it. Thanks Larry Scott
  19. Thanks for the offer just the same. The guy I bought the bike from was not really into maintenence at all. He told me he just changed oil and tires and rode it. He even washed it with car wash brushes. I've been doing so much overdue maintenance I'm almost beginning to avoid the bike as it just reminds me how much more attention it needs. It has 66,000 mile with virtually nothing checked or greased.
  20. Thanks guys, I thought I might try to match it up and drill proper hole. I see a new lever is $35 or so. Not too bad but seems crazy not to have a replaceable bushing. Scott
  21. I have searched all night and can't seem to find the brass bushing for the clutch lever. I found the one that pushes the rod to actuate the clutch but I can't find the one where the bolt goes thru for the lever itself. Mine is egg shaped and the handle wobbles around quite a bit. Anyone know if this is replaceable? It's not shown on the Star parts list only the one that pushes the rod. Scott
  22. Simple to figure out. The OP just got back from his wall street protest and has nothing better to do but stir up trouble.
