2015 riding season, what did you do for milage this year?
SilvrT replied to Brake Pad's topic in Watering Hole
Think I got around 13,000 kilometers in. 3 season's with the Vic and a total of appx 35,000 on it so far. -
Hey Larry! glad to hear you're gonna be OK! Hope you don't mind me quoting those words of wisdom of yours to all my friends and family. No truer words were spoken! "So as we wrap up 2015 and start 2016, lets make sure we have all our personal relationship in good working order. If there needs to be forgiveness in a relationship be the better person and say your sorry first. Make sure everyday that your family, friends know that you love them and appreciate them. "

I made the switch last July. I had bought my "VAP" unit while enroute home from Venture West Yreka but didn't use it much until the beginning of July when I went "cold turkey" on the cigarettes. I started with 8mg nicotine and am now down to 3mg. @GothicJB ... thanks for mentioning those "sub-ohm" ones. I've been wondering about how that worked when I see others with them. Gonna look deeper into that. What I find is the e-cig aka VAP allows me to continue with the "habit" of smoking but is allowing my body to rid itself of the harmful crap from the cigs. Unfortunately about 3 weeks ago I arrived at work only to find my VAP battery had died. By late afternoon I was craving so went and bought one of those flavoured cigar thingies called "Prime Time". Since then I've been alternating between them and the VAP. That is partly to do with some stress I've been going through leading up to Christmas; however, that's all over now and I will get back "on track" with the VAP soon as I am comitted to ending my smoking habit. Good luck to all who are quitting or trying to quit. It is THE toughest "drug" habit to quit. I've been a smoker for 54 years. It takes a lot to rid yourself of that.

and what's the point of a law if there is not enough resources to enforce it to a point that it actually does any good. Long gone are the days when you'd see a cop on every corner (almost) dishing out traffic tickets. You'll hear either on TV or radio that a blitz is going on to catch drivers for things like texting, speeding, drinking, and so on ... but I think a lot of the time it's a "scare tactic" and in reality there is no blitz at all.

Much the same around Vancouver, BC

Here in B.C. a law was recently passed to allow the cops to ticket those who drive in the "passing lane" when they aren't actually passing anyone. Problem I see is that around my area there is so much traffic that it's difficult to determine if folks are actually passing when in the passing lane. What generally happens is a backlog and those in the left lane get stuck when in fact, they were really intending to pass. Can a person beat a traffic ticket based on "intent"?? Now, if the government would quit taking money intended for highway improvement and putting it into general revenue, perhaps our highway infrastructure would be such that a backlog wouldn't occur. They could also open up the HOV lanes to alleviate traffic backlog because those lanes are seriously under used. I think I'll stop now as I feel the non-existent hair on the back of my neck rising!

I figure saying it is harder than reading it LOL

As near as I can tell, none of that is actually Japanese ... if it is, I'd love to see a translation! LOL

Heard that one before... still funny!

Japanese Sex A Japanese couple is arguing about how to perform highly erotic sex: Husband: "Sukitaki. Mojitaka!" Wife replies: "Kowanini! Mowi Janakpa!" Husband says angrily: "Toka a anji rodi roumi yakoo!" Wife on her knees literally begging: "Mimi nakoundinda tinkouji!" Husband shouts angrily: "Na miaou kina Tim kouji!" I can't believe you just sat there trying to read this - you don't know Japanese. You'll read anything as long as it is about sex. You need serious help! Sometimes I worry about you.

Crude prices are way down. Why hasn't engine oil dropped accordingly?
SilvrT replied to Beau-Kat's topic in Watering Hole
The metric system was introduced in 1970 but wasn't applied to gasoline until 1979 (according to Wikipedia). Near as I can tell, a gallon of gas in Canada in 1970 was just under 50 cents. -

Dramatically? Not in my neck of the woods. Just filled the tank @ $1.25 / litre which equates to $4.73 / US gallon. My truck: 2005 Chev Silverado ... from 1/4 tank it takes over $80 to fill. -
This painting is 24" x 12" I will be awarding it to some lucky person who attends Kruisn Kootenays!

We did the "early gift" thing too. We got something that we share. After all was said and done, appx $900 invested (so far but as time goes by, that will surely double or maybe even triple). Since then, neither of us has had any rest whatsoever! LOL

I've had two of them .... Some background for the first. My 1st wife and I had a son. She and I split when he was 1.5 yrs old. I never got to see him again until ..... around 2001 I found out where his mom lived and I sent her a letter inquiring about our son. She gave the letter to him and just before Christmas that year he contacted me, told me he had been wondering about my whereabouts for several years and in January 2002 we met for the first time. He was then 32 yrs old. We have been as close as a father and son could ever be since then. We get together almost every other week. I'm now married to 3rd wife who has 3 grown kids and we all are like one big happy family! Connecting with my son is the absolute best thing that has ever happened to me in my life ... it just so happened to occur at Christmas. Now the second. I was raised by my mom and stepdad from 8 yrs old thru to 15 when they separated. I again spent time with him between 19 - 21. We parted ways and I never saw or heard of him since. That was 47 years ago. Just 2 days ago I made contact with his wife and learned of his passing 14 years ago. While I am saddened by that, I at least now have a connection to him and am eager to learn more about him and his life since I last saw him.

Unrelated response to your Q but how is it that you're ending up with URL links to images (smileys)? Instead of them being embedded in your post? I've seen this in your other posts as well. Anyone got an answer? -
@Flyinfool Jeff, that's what happens when folks kick themselves in the arse! (j/k) ... hope you get back to 100% and your recovery is quick and smooth! As for the above comment, I should be safe now since I've gone beyond "middle age" LOL
