I just switched to Rotella T Synthetic based on advice from the site and I still have clutch slippage!!! Whats up with that? Does anyone know of a readily available MC oil that does not have the modifiers in it?

I have a 99 and on page 7-5 of my manual , it looks like oil and filter every 8,000 miles. Thats seems a little long , but was just wondering?

I am reading in my owners manual that oil changes only are needed every 8,000 miles? Is that correct?

Just completed the install following your directions, it works FINE , But forgot about the warning of not testing it in the garage. Sign language classes start at the Community College tomorrow!

Gained I am getting ready to install a Stebel Air Horn. Your instuctions say that the post 30 and the + side of the horn are to be connected and the + post of the battery and post 87 are to be connected . The Stebel instuctions have them reversed. Do you know something that can help me out ? Being they are Italian made, I was hoping to get it right. Thanks

Emergency Ignition Switch Repair

Chris How did the Ignition switch go ? Do you have a part Number for a new swithch? Looks Like I have to do the same. -
Thanks Squidley for the warm welcome . I have just upgraded from the 650 V Star site and there were also a great bunch of folks there. I will try a weld first before I subject myself to the pain and agony of contacting my local dealer

Sleeperhawk You are correct I used the wrong term ,its the deflector, plastic lower piece, that sits alongside the front fork.

I am a new guy, just bought a nice 99 Venture and was reading on this site about the lower plastic vents breaking. Well today mine broke off at the metal bracket! For no apparent reason. Hope to get it welded back together.
