  1. My $12 eBay bought Bluetooth receiver. Plugs into stereo aux jack and music from my phone to bike wireless.

    Harley

Lucky you! Looks like a nice one. My first Harley was a sportster. Good little bike for around town or to sell and pocket some money:)
  3. Nice! My back would be aching!
  4. I could never get it to completely seat. It was always in the same spot on the tire. Thought it was the tire so I tried it on a car rim and it seated at 15 lbs. I did polish the rim with no luck and followed all other mentioned steps. Gave up and ordered a tire mc tire yesterday because it's been sitting in the middle of my storage unit on a jack. I will buy a used wheel in the next couple of weeks and play with it some more and try to get it mounted. I've owned numerous bikes and this is the first one with a size that is darksideable. Ive wanted to give it a shot for years so hopefully I can get it done in the future.
  5. Andy, Looks fantastic! Looks nothing like the bike I had. Mike, I'm going to try the starting fluid tommorow and if that doesn't work all do what you mentioned. Tks
  6. Pulled the wheel and installed the tire today, cannot get the bead to seat. It is so close on both sides, just won't go. Used a tire cage and went to 100 a few times and even 120 once. Would not go. I've got 80 in it now and it's in my car hoping it will magically seat:) Tonight I'm going to try a little ether and see if I can get it to seat. If i can ever get it to seat I will get it balanced and see if the hype is legit or not. It's a federal 165/80/15
  7. Very impressive et and mph compared to magazine number. How much experience do you have and what was your 60ft?
  8. Looking harder at the pic, it looks like its right next to the set screw. Getting ready for work, but I will check and see if the spring is installed and get back. Hopefully it's not installed and a less than $2 repair would be nice:)
  9. I'm assuming the spring (#4) is held in place by the set screw and nut? Then no, I don't have that and that's why I added a spring, but apparently mine is not strong enough. Tks for the pic, looks like I will order the correct spring! Tks M61A1!
  10. Thinking out loud, Maybe the brake light switch on the lever is adjustable?
  11. Original broke and was not an issue. New factory replacement and it will sometimes not return all the way and will activate the brake light, brake is not engaged only the rear light is coming on. I have played with varying amounts of free play and have even installed a small spring between the plunger, lever and screw with no luck. Brake light will be activated till I push the lever forward just a little bit. If I am parked it will stick approx 1 of 10 times. Spring seemed to help a little. Cruise control won't activate when this happens. Hope this makes sense. All tips appreciated.
  12. It worked! Two hours and cycled the key on and off. Might try reversing the pins temporarily so I can raise the bass and treble in the future.
  13. It's a 2000 millenium and the UP button for radio station, bass, etc... Is not working. The bass is at -6 and treble is at -2. Sound quality is horrendous and I'm sure would sound a whole lot better at 0 0 versus what it has now. I took apart the fairing and the stereo controller so I'm pretty confident that it's the button versus a connection. Also disconnected the battery. Tks!
  14. I got an iPad when they first came out for the wife. We liked it so much we waited in line and got an iPad II. We both have iPhones and she has a MacBook. I prefer windows over Mac, but the Mac works flawlessly after 3 years unlike all the window laptops and pc's I've had. I still use my wife's original 1st gen iphone because I dropped my my 3G one too many times.p and she has an iPhone 4. I don't know anything about the droid tablets, but what I know about the apple products is they have been super reliable for us and not willing to take the risk on anything else on any other tablet or phone.
  15. It surprises me that in 2012 yamaha's touring bike is still carb'd and has a cassette. I haven't bought a cassette since the 80's, can you still buy a cassette tape?
  16. Have used both ngk and autolite, feels the same to me. My next set will be which ever is cheaper (autolite).

    Droid

Agree with the iPhone. Still using my 1st gen iPhone, it's got more miles then my 84 1st gen Venture.
  18. Your going to love it. Harley's are great bikes and also look great. I've owned an Electra Glide Classic and a Road King. They are not fast, but they do the job. When my finances improve I will have another Harley touring bike.
  19. I plan on installing an aftermarket stereo. Looking for a how to for wiring it. My factory radio/cassette work fine, but only one speaker works and just doesn't have the sound quality I would like. I saw a 4x6 speaker install that I also plan on copying. My bike came with a blank that goes in place of the stereo which I plan on installing an aftermarket head unit in place of the stocker that I remove.
  20. I would bite the bullet and pull the carbs. Clean the heck out of them and then see what happens. When I bought my bike 2 weeks ago it wasn't running quite right. I trusted the previous owner that the carbs were removed and cleaned. Come to find out all 4 diaphragm caps were removed and new diaphragms, air jets, etc were installed, but nothing was done on the inner fuel side.
