  1. Sorry about your luck :rotfl:
  2. Another thing to try : Hook a volt meter up to your battery and note the voltage Crank the engine again noting the voltage while cranking If the starter turns sluggishly or barely at all and the voltage drops way down you have (A) a bad battery or (B) If you know beyond a doubt that the battery is good, you have a bad starter If the the starter turns sluggishly and the voltage barely drops. then you most likely have a bad connection ( this however could include bad brush contact within the starter) If you get the results in step (4) progressively move the voltmeter (+ Pos.) lead closer to the starter one connection point at a time (a second voltmeter is nice at this point so you can compare but not mandatory) until you do get a major voltage drop. You have just narrowed it down to were the bad connection lies, which is between the point of your recent major drop and your last minor drop. If you make it all the way to the starter without a major voltage drop repeat the test leaving the POS. test lead connected the battery and moving the NEG lead along the connection points towards the starter. If after testing both side of your circuit and failing to find a voltage drop anywhere between the battery and the starter then the poor connection is within the starter itself NOTE: this test is a lot simpler than it sounds when you read it and probably takes less time to do than it does to read it as well.
  3. Maybe if I can get the day off.
  4. No promises but I will try to be there.
  5. I have a FIAM two trumpets mounted were the old horns were. The compressor I mounted behind the seat under the trunk and ran an airline down each side of the bike along the frame to each of the horns. They connect to a T at the compressor. The horn switch was not strong enough to run the compressor directly so I had to incorporate a relay switch. The downside is they are so loud I sometimes scare myself.
  6. I am about to send my 660 in for the same reason, locking up. Now your scaring me.
  7. Now ain't you glad you finally learned to read:backinmyday: so you could cash in on some of the knowledge available on this site
  8. Some people are just too fussy. I had both the shark and the black death. Other than a slight ammonia smell and taste I found it to be more like a tough version of raw herring. Would I eat it again ......NOT ON YOUR LIFE. The black death on the other hand is another story , I could not stop drinking it, it was so good. Do not know how much I had through out the evening but at the end of the night there was a 1/4 bottle left I gladly finished of before being the last one to hit the sack. No after effects the next morning either. As far as Jonas goes although I have sort of met him before, this is the first time I really got a chance to get to know him. All I can say is I hope its not the last time, as he is a great down to earth fun loving guy with a great sense of humour.
  9. My system is loaded identical to Carls all the same versions etc. Yes they were all cleared before the trip and again when I had tech support try to help me out. Performed a factory reset no change. It seems as though it has to cool down for a bit and then it comes back. Until it does it again.
  10. That's cause when people see you coming they throw up the GONE FISHING SIGN
  11. On the way home from WNY The Counts did the same thing and He said he had not updated it since 2011.
  12. Did the reset with Garmin's tech support and it did not help
  13. No it did not.
  14. I did do the firmware update and it has all the latest updates.
  15. Has any one else had issues with their Garmin 660 or 665 freezing or locking up. Mine began doing this on my trip to Galena I would unplug it and within a short time it would do it again. Sometimes it would not even turn on it would just faintly show Garmin on the screen and freeze there, at which point you can't even turn it off. the unit is just over a year old. I have called Garmin and talked to them about it and they. talked me through a reset but this did not help. So now I get to send it back to them and for $165 they will replace it, a little discouraging since I have only had it for a year and three months. P/S I bought it from Best Buy and like a total idiot paid $89.00 for their so called replacement plan. When I walked in to get it replaced I was informed they could not replace it because they no longer carried it but that I would get a gift certificate of equal value to spend in the store instead. What a Joke.
  16. Its a little early for me to say whether I will be there or not. However I will certainly be planning for it.
