  1. Taz I'm not familair with the grinder you mentioned. but it sounds like it is one used for flywheels primarily vs a lathe like used for auto disc.
  2. I have an app and also the web site for the same place saved. I forget its name rite now. But almost every time I find a station and make planse to fuel there it is 91 octane or better. I have yet to find 87 oct. WE use to have a station here in town that had race gas that was non-eth, but its gone now too. I guess I could go to the airport and take a can. but thats a hassle.
  3. Larry I'm suprised it ran long enough to do that. Usually the pump will only "draw" so much and then they quit.
  4. What no pics? JK I guess just be glad they can fix it and your not out like month or something. Sorry to hear about the injury, speedy recovery.
  5. When I had my FJ1200 motor in the Legends car I was getting shims from I think Mr Cycle. Seems to me at that time a couple years ago it was around $5-6 ea. Luckely I have a bag full of shims different sizes now. But I have a real over abundance of big shims, like 300 range. I need to see if I can sell the FJ valve tool. I gave like $40+ for it. Jeff: you heard anything about the one Bob was working on last year? Last I had heard he had to knock off on the free work (the valve tool) as he had paying jobs.
  6. I havent looked, but could a fellow turn a rotor if it was warped bad enough to pulsate. I would think there is a min thickness stamped on the rotor right. The hard part might be finding a machine shop that would want to mess with it.
  7. Sell it to a TD guy. Looks lost to me behind brakes also.
  8. The only issue I see with the hanger on that link is that wiht only one bolt on the forward mounting point it wouldnt seem to me it is really supporinting any weight. To lighten up the load as far as the overall weight you could use square alum tubing also, probably 1" angle of your choice would work too. Alum if you polish it up looks pretty spiffy also almost chrome. I did see a thread on these boards where a fellow used just the ole glass pack (cherry bomb type)mufflers and it sounded pretty dang good.
  9. Use to call Sams Club the $100 store. Seems we never got out of there without spending $100 or more. lol The techron they had wasnt what I thought it was, it was the injector cleaner stuff treats 20 gal. I just got my oil and a filter and went out the door.. Heres sort of chuckle for you all though. I go in and the shelf is empty of the T6. So this young fella maybe 18-19 asks can he help. I asked him do you have anymore Rotella T6 as the space is empty. He looks at the shelf and procedes to tell me its all gone and the shelf is empty. Well Dah. I asked do you have any in the back. "I dont know let me check" He pulls the price tab off the shelf, walks to the very front of the store scans it on the machine and it tells him there is 3 more jugs. He walks back to where I was at back of store where oil is now and tells me the news. Then asks if I want one. So dispite the obvious I tell him yes please. He walks like 3 feet from where I am thru the back store room door and fetches the oil. I'm thinking wouldnt it have been a heck of alot easier to just go the 3 ft look in back and figure out if you got the oil than make the extra trips to the front? Kids
  10. Holy crap and no mention of the sea foam or Techron that is on sale also in the flyer.
  11. That was all we had to put them back together back then. The gaskets that came in kits sucked and leaked. So qutie often we used sears or wards cataloge and yellow dog (3m weather strip adheasive).
  12. Well I see they have plenty of "supervision" on the top of the hill there.
  13. Carbon-I had a buddy back in high school that was sort of a British bike efficinado/nut whatever you want to call him. But he once told me he wouldnt buy a Triumph if it wasnt leaking oil. Me being pretty much of a 2 stroke background and a couple hondas asked why? He told me if it wasnt leaking any oil, it probably didnt have any in it.
  14. Sneak a peek at the MP3 player in the saddle bag and let us know who makes it and if its got a par number besides yamaha if you can see it. Congrats, but this would be really hard man. To know its sitting there and you cant go out and play. thats got to be as bad as being sick on the weekend when you were a kid.
  15. Oh my British, probably has Lucas(also known as you-cuss) eltronics on it, and shifter/brake on wrong side. But were neat looking bikes in the day.
  16. I can see a use for them. But more manuverable than a traditional bike? Probably not. Working events in a downtown sort of envirionment yea, meter enforcment yea high speed pursuits probably not on any bike. You can probably fit more LEO gear on this bike than an HD. AS for prisioners, hand cuff them to the back and make them keep up.
  17. I'll look thur the CL stuff off and on here for a few weeks and see if something looks like a deal worth looking into and send you a PM with the info.
  18. I guess a good question from us "helpers" would be are you buying straight out or do you have to trade in? I buying outright it open the option of CL. I was looking about a month ago and there were some pretty nice units for sale at decent enough prices here in Fl and southern Ga. The guys here will be able to steer you on the price/miles thing. How about a pic of your current ride.
  19. You say you have still no way of knowing if it works over the headset part of system though?
  20. If the trunk is full and we are going to be away from the bike for a good amount of time we will lock them up. Worst thing I have had happen using the locks is it has rained while the helmet is hanging. Lucky it wasnt a heavy rain just a quick shower, but still we were an hour and half from the house and wearing a damp helmet ick
  21. I did see a thread somewhere about tying into the ventures intercomm with a wireless scala type headset if you already have those. Some kind of dongle thingy or device.
  22. I have an 09. It has the pillow top type seat. For me a 600 or even 700 day is possible and I go 190-200lb. Guess its definatly an opnion thing. The boss loves the room she has and I have not heard a complaint about buffiting except once in awhile on the interstate if you end up passing a lot of big rigs. Power if your running say 70 onthe slab youll be OK wil somemore throttle, if your around say 60 and in 5th youll probably want a bit more snap. Windisdhield is fine for me and I go 5'6". Its definatly different than a V-twin. You cant lug this thing.
  23. shocks should be popular.
  24. To some extent the leat amount of "slop" between the gear clusters when assymbled is best. You have to have a little freeplay so they will move some to reduce heat and some other stuff. But if free play is excessive it allows to much deflection and then you get not correct contact points. Not that I have particualr knowledge of this transmission, just going with experience on sequenchel gearboxs in general. The heat normaly associated with the motorcycle is going to take some of it out as the gears will expand.
  25. Far as I know Fl requiers insurance on a bike. I think if your on a military installation your wearing a helmet. I know when I was in even though Oklahoma was an option state us on the base had to wear them.
