  5. In addition to the side stand switch, consider the programming for the Ignitech. When I first installed the Ignitech, I could ride off with the kickstand down. It was a matter of programming in the correct setting. Now, with your situation of dropping 500 rpm at idle when kickstand is down, that is strange, but before I swapped out anything, I would consult with Dingy and see if there is a fluke in the Ignitech settings.
  6. Maybe not as simple as the Fruni, but compared to today's bikes, simple.
  7. Here's your pic. http://p1.bikepics.com/2009%5C05%5C21%5Cbikepics-1674280-full.jpg

  9. If you are asking about the First Gen Venture weight, it depends on the year and model:

  11. That site was built by our very own mbrood. Mike Brood.
  12. When I picked up my '91, the exact same thing was happening. When I got it home a spritz of WD40 on the channel change buttons immediately fixed it. One of the channel change buttons was stuck down.
  13. Let's go back to a simpler time.

  15. If you are looking for OEM mufflers, there are always a few for sale on eBay. If you are looking for aftermarket mufflers, two manufacturers (maybe more) made mufflers for the Venture back in the day. MAC and Jardine were probably the most ubiquitous, but are not commonly found today. Again, check eBay. Here are some new MAC mufflers on eBay, right now: http://www.ebay.com/itm/YAMAHA-VENTURE-MUFFLERS-83-84-85-86-87-88-89-90-91-92-93-/281301971173?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item417ee770e5&vxp=mtr And another set here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MAC-Yamaha-Venture-Royal-Turn-Down-Slip-On-Mufflers-Chrome-Exhaust-004-4315-/291034447720?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AVenture+Royale&hash=item43c3013f68&vxp=mtr And here is a used set of OEM from a 1993 for just $25, 'Buy it Now'. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1993-Yamaha-XVZ1300-XVZ-1300-Venture-Chrome-Exhaust-Mufflers-/400570338743?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d43da4db7&vxp=mtr

  17. Come on! That's not fun if you don't have to search for a long time. Therapy, remember? http://www.mototype.com/pics/8428/full/rouge-moto_qmoto_2_10.jpg http://www.mototype.com/pics/8428/full/rouge-moto_qmoto_1_10.jpg
  18. Seriously, you thought the Venture would be tough? LOL. This is a Venture forum, eh? Anyway, try this:
  19. That same connector has been known to corrode and the corrosion has caused problems, such as intermittent faults. Can you get to TCI (yes, Carl it is still called a TCI, even though it is digital) and ohm out the pickup coil from the TCI connector? Might identify a flakey connector or wire between the pickup coil and the TCI.
  20. Is it your turn or mine?
  21. Mine has the exact same antennae and the gold pin stripe is stock for that bike. Of course, the antennae is not stock. It is aftermarket, for the TK did not come with a radio (or antennae). LOL
  22. Umm, OK. Minor detail: it's a 1987 according to this source: http://www.suzukicycles.org/ http://www.suzukicycles.org/photos/concept/Nuda/1987_Nuda_520.jpg
  23. Hey! That's my bike! 1983 Yamaha Venture XVZ12TK (Standard) in Sparkle Crimson Black.
  24. I was waiting on you. But OK, Here try this one on for size.
