Been rather slow with answers on this thread; so, I'll give a hint. The company is Asian and is a major producer of scooters. This particular bike has a 1600cc V-Twin.

Getting rid of the CLASS
Prairiehammer replied to dna9656's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
From your description, your rear shock has at the very least an aftermarket (possibly Progressive®) rear spring. It may have a Progressive® shock as well. Here is a pic of an OEM Venture shock with an unknown aftermarket spring: Only you can tell us that. Does it have an air hose connected to it? I do know, if you have a Progressive® rear shock, that it will not be an air assisted shock. Mechanical spring pre-load is all Progressive® offers for the Venture. Follows is a pic of a Progressive® rear shock for a MKII: Just to clarify: the 1983 Standard Venture shock has an internal spring (you can't see the spring when you lift the rubber boot), however, the 1983 and on Royale has an exposed external spring. Here is a pic of a 1983/1984 Standard shock with the rubber boot removed for illustration: And here is a 1984 Royale OEM shock: BTW: As far as I know (I am no Second Gen expert), all the OEM shocks for the Second Gen have an internal spring; you can't see the spring, even if you lift the rubber 'accordion' boot (similar to the early Standard shocks). Here is a pic of a Second Gen shock: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTE5NFgxNjAw/z/x8oAAOxy0bRTDQnn/$_57.JPG -
No. Substantially different mounting. This is a Markland hitch for the 1986-1993: And this is a Markland hitch for a 1983-1985 (that big black square is a mud flap):

Here's a clue: Oh, I forgot the most important clue: it is French. No surprise there, I'll bet. The Franco are so weird when it comes to wheeled machines.

Front fork conversion
Prairiehammer replied to dna9656's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Since you only need to remove, from the right fork air collar, the one hose that comes from the compressor/valve assembly and substitute the short hose with the Schrader valve, all the suggested eBay items will suffice, albeit collars and connecting hose between the collars will be excess for your immediate needs and will not have to replaced or changed. For half the price of the one hose alone, I'd spend twelve dollars and buy the last cited assembly. Just use the hose that contains the Schrader and file the rest of the parts. -
Resistance...
Prairiehammer replied to dna9656's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I think Doug's complaint about the fiche pictures is valid. ALL the Venture (1983-2011) starter motor micro fiche IMAGES are the same. All show just two brushes, although the parts list does reflect four brushes, but the pics show just two brushes. -
Front fork conversion
Prairiehammer replied to dna9656's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You are talking about converting the front forks from CLASS air supplied to a Schrader supplied air? If so, simply obtain the hose from a Standard Venture (all years) that goes from the right air collar to the upper tree mount next to the ignition switch. Remove the air line from the compressor valve assembly that goes to the right fork air collar and install the short hose with the Schrader valve. Here is a pic of the hose you need, complete with Schrader valve: The above hose is available on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-1984-83-84-Yamaha-Venture-XVZ12-TK-XVZ-1200-Front-Fork-Air-Hose-Line-2-/190953436135?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AVenture&hash=item2c75b633e7&vxp=mtr Here is a pic of the complete fork air assembly with collars and hoses: This assembly is available on eBay here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-Yamaha-Venture-XVZ12-Fork-Tube-Air-Joints-/321219686742?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4aca2f7156&vxp=mtr Here is a front fork air assembly with Schrader and collars and hoses for just $12! http://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-1993-Yamaha-Venture-Royale-XVZ12-XVZ13-Front-Fork-Air-Joints-/221245719956?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item338345c594&vxp=mtr -

Boats.net has the elbow for $33.98 here: http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/Y-26H-12446-00-00.html But the O-rings are 'not available' from them. -
Guess I'm kinda in a rut.

A blast from the past. Boy, I wouldn't want to engage any curbs with those cylinders hanging so low.

Looks like a Honda MB5. 1980. "HONDA MB5 (1979 - 1982) Description & History: Honda MB5, produced since 1979 till 1981, was considered a mix between a scooter and a motorcycle, " http://s1.cdn.autoevolution.com/images/moto_gallery/HONDAMB5-2653_1.jpg

Yeah, I considered showing other shots of the bike, but I figured if you saw a V-6 engine you would get it too quickly. I also considered this shot, thinking you would not notice the bike, thus spending time looking for the girl. http://www.motofgr.com/db_pics/fgrv6344.jpg

replacement fairing mirrors
Prairiehammer replied to mcgyverit's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I'll agree, Andrew. No give in those mounts! Notice that the owner eliminated the stock turn signals. But those little winkers on the GW mirrors don't look very prominent. And I wonder if the blinkers are still running lights like the OEM Venture? I found this bike in Turkey. Go here for some more shots of it. Click on the 'mega foto' tab for bigger pics. http://motosikletevi.com/ilan/meraklisina_orjinal_yamaha_xvz_1300_v4-160475#.U1GLA1fdzAU -
Since it has been more than a day since I posted the bike to guess, I am going to assume that a hint may be needed. The country of manufacture is bordered by Poland.

You could add GoldWing mirrors, molded in to the fairing, like this: -
New Venture for Christmas

The Colortune has a clear spark plug that lets you look into the combustion chamber while the engine is firing. The colour of the combustion flame tells you if the mixture is correct. With the carburettor mixture screw you can then adjust the flame colour to get the correct mixture. http://www.carbtune.com/colortune.html Sounds like a good concept, except on our Ventures with the deep sparkplug well, some have found it difficult to see the colour. -
I am going to claim winner of last guess, so here is another for y'all to find:

Not to beat a dead horse, but for what it's worth Pegasus, here is a stock unrestored 1977 CB750A. Note the color, the pinstripes, the exhaust and the passenger peg mounts. http://tws.dk-server.co.uk/item76103-2.jpg

I am crying 'foul'. The 1978 CB750A didn't come with the Akront rims, it came with Comstar wheels. The 1978 had dual exhaust (4 into 2). The 1978 had cast aluminum passenger foot peg mounts, not the steel frame extensions shown. Your pictured bike is a 1976 with Akront rims and stock four into one exhaust and stock passenger foot pegs (in other words a 1976 frame). The seat is not 1976 stock but it was available as a Honda option. And we can't check eBay ads from 2006 (where your pic was taken from). Here's a 1978 Honda CB750A that sold at an auction in Vegas January 2014, survivor with 4000 miles. http://forum.motorcycle-usa.com/attach.aspx/3896/750aleft%20small.JPG Here's a 1976 CB750A with the optional seat, (although the seat appears to have added padding).http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/08/75/6a/08756adcc3e671e8801653dd2168e16a.jpg
