  1. How did you mount them? They look really nice.
  2. Gary that is a possibility that it is coming from the inside. I bought a new tank and will check that out when I replace the tank.
  3. Has anyone had a problem with the gas tank rusting just above the rubber moulding on the back of the tank on the pet cock side. I know of at least three people who have a similar problem. The moulding appears to hold water and subsequently causing the rust problem, just my opinion. Curious to see if this a common problem. It is a 2004 which is always stored in a heated shop and does get washed a lot. I will try to upload a photo.
  4. I have a 2004 Midnight Venture and I am looking for the colour code to paint a tank. Where can I find this information. Thanks
  5. I have a lift but would like to install the sides on like you have so that it is Safire to ride the bike up on the lift. How did you install the sides on your lift?
  6. Are all the 99 to present gas tanks the same? Can you remove the tank decals from your old tank and install them on a new tank and if so how do you do that. Do all the different tank decals have the same contour to fit on a replacement tank or are they just flexible enough to fit.
  7. How do you stop the pop up if you do not want to use Tapiatalk
  8. Happy Birthday Bubber have a great day.
  9. I installed the kuryakyn grips with the kuryakyn end weights and they work great. Continuous vibration can lead to carpel tunnel problems.
  10. Does anyone have or know where I can get a clutch lever for a second gen? I installed kuryakin grips and now I find the slight change in the diameter of the grip has caused me to roll my hand forward to pull in the clutch lever and subsquently hurts my arm. I like the grips and have read some of the posts where people have bent the lever. I am going to try to bend the lever but would like to have one on hand in case it breaks. Appreciate your help.
  11. After reading the material on these units I am very interested in purchasing one. I would like to Hear from any of the members that have purchased these units. I also have a question which mic do you prefer either the solid mic MH10-10 or the MH10-11 the slimmer one which fits inside the helmet? I have a HJC modular SY MAX 2 flip type helmet. I look forward to hearing your opinions on this unit whether it be pro or con. Thanks Dana
  12. Thanks I appreciate all of your comments.
  13. Does anyone have any experience with these types of heaters. They claim they are 40% more efficient than the regular baseboard heaters thus using less power. My question is how efficient do they work and do they use a lot less power as they claim. I was thinking of using in the rec room as a supplememtal heat. House has a gas furnace.Comments please. Here is a link to the heaters http://www.costco.ca/Dynamic-Infrared-Quartz-Heater.product.10395019.html
  14. When I golfed Grey Wolf I couldn't wait to get to the next hole just to see what it looked like. This is an incredibly scenic golf course. I have golfed a lot of mountain courses and this one was by far my favourite!!! You should really give it a go, you will not be disappointed. The whole area as mentioned is very scenic.
  15. I think you made an excellent choice. We all ride motorcycles for similar reasons and that is to meet people, both riders and non riders and ones that wish they could ride. We also enjoy the pure adventure of just riding, not just one style of bike, but whatever bike we get a chance to ride just to see what they are like but ultimately just to ride. I agree with Brian I don't think I would buy this bike for the long distance rides but I think it would be a blast to ride it on short trips and also in the winter months. An interesting note, every ural owner that I have talked to have had nothing but great things to say about the bike. As can be appreciated, it wouldn't be for everyone however if it were, we would all be riding the same bikes.....its definitely got my interest!!!!
  16. If you want to get real energetic you can remove the outer fairing and loosen the inner fairing, slide the rubbers in as they were originally and then tighten down the inner fairing and reinstall the outer fairing. This makes for a really good fit for the rubbers and secures the fairing eliminates any rattling and any movement of the fairing.
  17. With all the talk and the law changes regarding the noise of loud pipes does anyone know if there would be a legal problem running these pipes in any of the US Staets or in Canada?
  18. I just read an article in Rider Magazine about the Scosche Ipod Remote from Aeorstich.com. I was wondering if anyone has used this wireless remote. The remote straps to your handlebar and controls your Ipod which can be located wirelessly anywhere on the bike. It allows you to conrol the volume, skip tracks, hit play/pause, select playlists or shuffle via large, glove friendly buttons, and it claims to be waterproof. I have a power outlet in the trunk already and have split the aux cable also and was thinking of running the aux cable to the trunk however if the Ipod is communicating wireless to the remote then there is probably no advantage to run the aux cable to the trunk, just connect the Ipod to the power in the trunk and operate vis RF remote. THOUGHTS???? The cost of the remote from Aerostitch shows $79.00. The reviews appera to be pretty positive. I was wondering if anyone is using this remote and how do you like it?
  19. I am looking for a helmet communication system. I have a GPS (Bluetooth compatible) and an Iphone. My GPS is in sync with my iphone but I would like to listen to my MP3 player on my GPS thru wireless connection. I ride single the majority of the time and really only need for my music and possibly the phone. What system do you recommend and do you have to have a specific helmet for the system? I am thinking about going to a full face modular helmet, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  20. I took off the outer fairing and loosened the inner fairing slid the rubber mounts in and re tightened the inner fairing. This makes for a nice fit. Regarding the bars hitting the cover, I haven't done anything because it really doesn't do any damage. It pushes the cover in a bit but won't hurt it.
  21. Please note as per my question in the previous post I forgot to mention the lites are for the 2004 Royal Star Venture.
  22. I have a set of Yamaha Driving Lites and would like to replace the sealed beam bulbs with Halogen or better sealed beam bulbs. I would like to keep the wattage down to 35/36 watts. I have looked at some sites and they have them but they show flood, wide flood, spot, narrow spot, etc. Which kind is the best for the driving lights. Can you please advise what type you think I should be looking for. I am basically looking for the best light possible with a straight replacement lamp and still using the Yamaha lite bar holders. I have searched the sites and have sent a private message to one of our members but I know technology changes daily and possibly someone has tried something lately that works well. Thanks Dana
  23. Mark Number 10 is excellent advice: (10. Take care of everyone else who is with you on your trips and travels. If you are wise, share it with others). Some people are just not tuned into these situations until it is too late. This is a good subject and anyone riding any type of distance should be knowledgeable on this topic, not only for themselves, but also so they can share the information with their friends to keep them safe. Thanks
