  1. I purchased a pair of Polk Audio db401's and tried them in the front of my '06 RSV. I thought the sound was very similar but that the Polk's did have a tad more bass tone to them. In doing a test of playing each speaker seperately I found that I prefered the stock Clarions over the Polk's. If anyone is interested in the Polk's I will sell them for Ten dollars less than I paid for them. I have already drilled out the speaker mounting holes as recomended to allow them to mount easier which was a great help. I also soldered a speaker wire tail to one of the speakers for my test so I didn't have to cut the factory speaker plug off before I decided if I was going to switch them out for sure. $55.00 TYD. They are still pretty much brand new in the box. Just out long enough to test them out in the garage.
  2. Have you got your rack yet? Would love to see some pics. Looking at getting a rack for my 2006. Thanks, Brett
  3. As you can see from my user name, Hunting whitetails is my passion. Yes my user name is spelled diff. that's because the correct spelling is used on every forum I belong to. So i picked this version and have stuck with it. Anyways I have hunted with a Compound bow, rifle and black powder rifle. I enjoy bowhunting the most. If you have any questions feel free to ask. If I don't know. I can find an answer for you. Good luck and happy hunting.
  4. Well, the install went pretty slick with on exception. The double sided sticky foam they give you with the unit is junk. I had the player all mounted and the foam came loose from the sticky tape. I had to scrape it off and then used 3M double sided tape. That things not going anywhere now. Great sound from the cd player. I will have to try out the MP3 player out now.
  5. RedRider, You da Bomb! Thank you for these instructions. This looks to be a breeze with these instructions. Any other tips you have are welcome. Brett
  6. Thanks RedRider. I've tried to find something on the web with no luck.
  7. Hey all, I purchased a new 6 disk cd changer on ebay for my 06 venture but the thing doesn't have instructions on how to install it on my bike. It looks to have the rubber mounting bracket to go in the side compartment. anyone know where to find some detailed instructions on how this mounts? Thanks!
  8. Thanks everyone for your input. I really like your response squid. It was to the point. Have a great weekend everyone! Brett
  9. Thanks SilvrT! Do you run Yamaha factory filter? Or do you use another manufacturer?
  10. I was leaning towards the Amsoil. What weight should I use?
  11. Hi, I'm sure this has been discussed many times, however I did not find any old posts to my satisfaction. So, My question is. What oil would you recomend and what filter would you recomend? My bike only has 3k miles on it so I figured I could switch to whatever I wanted to run and stick with it. I read that some oils have helped with the chirpping noise, which I have a chirp but it's not a bad one. Thanks, Brett
