  1. Just do it! Don't wait for the accident to happen. Get that beautiful bike outfitted with a Hannigan Trike attachment as soon as you can. It's only money, so get it done, never look back and you'll be popping your buttons as a proud Trike owner. And that's the truth! Plus no more knee worries. Good Luck with the healing process - hang in there. Owen
  2. There is no way to express my feeling for the help that I received from all of you, except that I truly appreciate the interest you took for offering the suggestions. Thank You! The Trike is back down on it's 3 wheels now, with no damage what so ever. I straightened the rod. A special thanks to Brad for the phone calls and walking me through. Also he and Jeff said to use a jack under the left shock/bolt, which worked fine. And I think most of you have convinced me not to use the rack and legs for winter storage again. It's sure a relief to have difficult problems solved so simply with the expert help from the members of this group. I'm proud to be a part of your family. Happy Biking! Owen.
  3. I've had the Trike up on the lift bracket, with legs, for the winter. Today, I wanted to get it back down onto it's wheels. I needed to jack it up enough to remove the 4 legs. I got it about halfway up and somehow it tipped to the left. This looks bad, so l as I let the jack back down, the Trike remained at a bad angle and the jack was now loose of the bracket. There's a heavy silver rod that goes thru holes in both the bracket and the Trike frame. That rod is now bent into a Z shape and the legs are on the floor, but the Trike is leaning badly and the lifting bracket is tipped sideways. I think that bent rod is holding it cocked. I've got to figure out someway to get those legs removed. Then maybe I could somehow cut that lifting bracket loose and get that bent rod out. I'm afraid that if I keep jacking it high enough to remove the leg bolts, it may tip over. At least it looks like it may. I know this is long and maybe as clear as mud, but now this thing scars me. I really need your advice. Thank you! Owen.
  4. Man, that was a quick reply! Thank you, I appreciate the information. Owen
  5. That is one beautiful Bike. Love that color. But, to change the subject - where did you get the chrome trim around the front knee guards, as I call them. I've always wanted to add them to my Venture, but just don't know where to shop. Hope you can help. Owen
  6. I like the chrome trim around the lower wind guards (or whatever they're called). Anyone know where to get them?
  7. If you don't think that the windshield vent is serving it's purpose, just ride on a cold day and flip it open. You will feel the extra cold blast immediately. I bet you close it again!
  8. Sounds like Home!
  9. Gary, nice looking Bike and I like your flags. I had a pair mounted like yours, but they kept blowing downward, so I re-installed them on the outer bars of the rack, which run in the opposite direction and solved that problem.
  10. My Trike is in Iowa, sitting on legs and covered. I'm in Mission Texas for the Winter. Today, looking at the photo of the Trike on the computer screen saver and panting!
  11. Now, That's funny!!!
  12. Just wanted to finallize this topic. I had the Root Canal operation Wed, Nov 4th. Everything went fine, as some of you had indicated. It took a total of one hour and I never once felt a pain. Plus, no pain or soreness ever, when coming home, that night or even the next day. Everything went perfect and the Dentist was very precise and thorough. I see now that all that worrying was really unnecessary. Now, I am scheduled to go back to my regular dentist on Monday to have the filling capped. I'm very happy to have had it all completed, with no problems. Thanks again to all of you who helped convince me. Owen.
  13. Thank you for the comment about the Crown. I didn't realize that. Sounds reasonable though. I have a brochure showning adding a Crown, but I thought that it was maybe only for adding if the top of the tooth was missing or decayed. So, I will have that done also. Hey you guys, talking me into all this stuff is costing me a fortune you know! But, really, I do appreciate you all with today's chat. Thanks to everyone! Owen.
  14. Thanks for all the 'positive' replies. I'm feeling better about it already now. My Dentist referred me to the Dentists in Omaha called "Endodontic Associates." My appointment is for tomorrow afternoon, so I'll go ahead, live dangerously and get her done. OH BOY! Doesn't sound like much fun, though. Owen.
  15. After having my teeeth cleaned, yesterday, they said that one of my eye teeth had a hole or decay in it. They've referred me to another Dentist who does root canal work. Have any of you or your friends had this operation? And if so, would you reccomend it or should I be as SCARED as I am about it? The tooth has never given me any pain! Please, I need your opinions. Owen

    Winterizing

Some folks have success with dryer sheets, but the mice here just ignored them for me. Here's a simple positive solution. Buy some good quality "Peppermint Oil" from a health food store. Put a few drops on cotton balls and place them around. Not only is this environmentally safe, but the smell is great. No guarantee, but worth a try. As rodents do not like the scent of peppermint, once they smell it, they leave and never return. Owen.

    on its side

A few years ago, a group of us were spending the night at a hotel. I had an alarm system on my bike and during the night it went off. I jumped up, yelled down the hallway and we all went rushing out to the parking lot. The guys in the car saw us, backed up and drove off. They had tipped over 8 of the bikes, with mine being the worse because they tipped it over on the left side, busting off the windshield. So, I know how you feel! Nothing worse than having someone pick on your pride and joy bike! Probably nothing more than an act of jealously. We feel sorry for you!
  18. You will say; "It's the best decision I've ever made!" You will Love it!
  19. Jim, that's good thinking, but this is Hannigan's Trike system which is different. It has a special switch and a pump that transfers gas from the auxiliary tank to the bike's tank when needed. There's no valve to re-position to do so, just flip the switch to refill the bike's tank. Somehow, there's no flow of gas to the filter. Thanks for asking!
  20. Yes, there is an auxiliary fuel tank, and it's empty.
  21. 1. The fuel filter (28), I had changed several weeks ago and then the engine stopped again just like before when the original filter failed. I'm not sure what the plastic looking thing is because it's down deep within other stuff. I said it resembles a filter, but larger. 2. The short piece of hose (30) on the bottom of the filter is the problem. It just kind of fell out, attached the filter, as I removed the hose from the other end of the filter and I don't know of where it became disconnected. 3. If that short piece of hose is part of another piece of hose and does actually go to the fuel pump, I don't know because both hoses from the fuel pump disappear among other stuff also. 4. The hose from that Tee and going down on the right side just disappears among other stuff and can't follow it. Also it's clamped down because it won't move. 5. On the fuel pump, I can't tell which hose goes to the shut of valve, but I disconnected one of them and opened the valve and still got no flow. 6. The filter is connected correct, but no gas is getting to it. Something is restricting the gas flow, and something is still open where that short hose from the filter had pulled loose. Man, what a mess! I hope this is about as clear a mud!!!! Owen.
  22. I had a girlfriend once that I kept saying: "Don't move - don't move!" But, TOO LATE!
  23. No, it won't start. It stalled on the highway as if it were out of gas, but the tank is full. Something must be plugging up a tube or maybe it's kinked. Opening of the gas valve without the tube attached, the gas flows put properly. Thanks for your interest!
  24. This is still confusing! Here's the progress so far: From the gas on/off/reserve valve, the tube runs to a brass Tee under the seat. From the straight part of the Tee. a tube turns directly down from there and into a white plastic looking unit below (it resembles a filter). The side connection of the Tee goes to a tube that goes to the right side, down and toward the left rear. I can't see where it goes from there, and maybe that's the one that this loose tube connects to. Don't know. Now, opening the gas valve, no gas flows out of any of the tubes. Oh, and when I first turned on the key the fuel pump did run for a sew seconds, as usual. Driving me crazier!
  25. Earl, Is there a reference page to match these numbers to the items? The hose that I'm looking for is attached to the large end of the filter (#28) and it looks like the hose (#30) has a joint in it before it gets to what I believe is the pump (#44), although I haven't looked for the pump yet. Does it look like that to you too? Thanks! Owen.
