1. I would like to get shorter antenna's. Firesticks look to be about 3' tall and allot fater compared to the very short trunk mounted antenna.
2. I wonder if any one has ever tried to mod the Harley shorty antennas to the Venture?
3. FROG MAN, Had the same problem with my last furnace. Cleaning the pilot orfice usually takes care of the problem. If you decide to replace it one day, the new ones come with an electronic pilot. In the meantime, if you keep the old girl for awhile, when the weather starts to get cooler each year, go ahead and clean that sucker before you start the heat for the first time of the season. May save you a trip under the house or in the attic at 1:00am.
4. Yeah, you know me Bobby, that's kinda what I was hoping for. I just knew freebird was going to send me a link that said, go hear and buy them and they fit on right where the stock ones were. I might look into those fireflies. I was looking for some shorter ones like Snap put on his Holly though.
5. Looking for some nice shorty antennas for my '04. Anyone have any suggestions were to get some nice ones that actually work fairly well?
6. I'm really not sure?????? Quit having those "B" day things when I turned 18. Then they raised the drinking age so I had a few more to make me 21. So I've been 21 for awhile now.
7. Just thought I'd let everyone know that thanks to LILBEAVER and the radio controller he sent me, mine is now fixed. Thanks Dude. A little word to the wise......If you see a little moisture in your radio controller after a rain, seal it up quick! Pretty costly fix. Smely
8. Bob, I sent the pay pal payment this morning for 2 2nd Gen's. Sorry, haven't been able to check thread in awhile. By the way, name is Mark Smelser and thank you for doing this.
9. I will take 1 -- Thanks
10. 2 2nd Gen for me please. Just let me know
11. My RSV is April '04 so my waranty is up. I took off the front fairing and totally removed the controller before breaking it down. I did inspect the pins and clean them up but still nothing. Wow, if you do have one for sale I would really be interested.
12. Looks like it is broke real good:crying: I pulled the controller off and opened it up and did the best I could with it, sealed it back up and plugged it in. still stuck in the same place and none of the buttons work. Anyone know were you can get used/new Venture parts. Looks like these controllers can cost anywhere from $400 - $500 to replace OEM.
13. Mine has been acting up whenever it gets wet. I did a Steel Pony Express ride from GA to PA this past week and we were in a monsoon the entire time. Now the CB is stuck on channel 3, the interphone volume is stuck and I cant turn on the radio. The only thing that works is the volume. None of the buttons work. I'm going to try and open it up and pour rice in it for a few days to get all of the moisture out and clean the switches. If I can breathe some life back into it I'm going to try and seal it up real good. Anyone know where to get new controllers incase I let the smoke out of the wires on this one? (You didn't know wires had smoke in them did you?) Smely
14. RUSS beat me to it, I was going to say......Her feet would have to lay across the trunk! If you see my RSV on a trailer......................CALL THE COPS, IT'S STOLEN:sign back to topic:
15. I hope you are not paying too much for someone to cut it for you. Did mine with some thin painters tape (to mark the cut) and a jig saw with a fine bit. Make sure you put painters tape on the bottom of the jigsaw where it will rub on the w/s so you don't scratch it. then just 3 levels on sand paper (corse to fine) on a jitterbug sander and viola, a cut down windshield. You will have to cut from the top down. Can't cut the bottom where the mounting holes are. We cut mine just to where I am looking over the top of the w/s. No buffeting at all. Good luck!
16. Been there, done that but now........I can see where I'm going!!!!!
17. Hey Bobby, Snap just cut my OEM down for me.......LOVE IT!
18. Well, this sucks tried soldering them and no help. I put a 12 volt power source on it and all of the diodes that were out had power on either side of them so the only conclusion is they are blown. Gonna go look at the site that awsmsrv gave me. The manuf. on the diode strip that I have is LUNAR ACCENTS.COM. They are made right here in Kennesaw, GA. They don't sell to the public but I might call them anyway.
19. Yeah, saw that. Thanks for the link awsmsrv some good stuff on that web site. Think I'm going to try to re-solder first but if that doesn't work, looks like they have everything I need.
20. Thanks Ablumny, that is exactly what I have. I took it apart once but did not see any broken solder but I will try and re-solder them this weekend.
21. About 1/3 of the lights are out in the trunk rear spoiler on my 04 midnight. Anyone know were I can order the diode strip without having to replace the whole thing?

opossum

Yup, I hit an armadillo one night. Scared the bageebus outa me. Like running over a boulder.
23. Hey WrongWay, Thanks for being kind on your response. I must have been on the hooch when I read the manual the first time. It was actually the front shock spec that I was reading and in kgf.. Bobby G fixed me up this weekend and we ran about 30psi in the rear shock and OMG what a difference. No more bottom out while riding 2 up and she ran the twisties real nice (until my back brake went out - but that's another thread, another time). I think I'm going to try around 35-40psi and see how that works. Why it would not hold the first time, I can only blame it on the hooch again, iiiiiii dono?
24. My problem is that it will not hold. I'm wondering if the shock is blown.?. I checked the shock and not seeing an oil leak out of it though. I'm going to take a better look at the valve stem this week. Even though the owners manual says .5psi max is it ok to run higher pressures?
25. I have read several post stating to apply anywhere from 30 to 50psi in the rear shock. I have a 04 midnight and the owners manual says .5psi max. Am I missing something? I tried to put more in but it will not hold??????
