  1. I thought that was in the dry season in June
  2. Yeh I saw that one also. I really like the HD one, but I'm not sure if wearing it on the Yamaha would look ok. Nice jacket, for $44.00 bucks, I may just buy it anyway
  3. Thanks Dave ! I'll keep that in mind. I'm only 2 hours south of the Daytona Oktoberfest, so I goto that every year down here. But it would be nice to get up there that time of the year to see the leaves changing colors ! Somthing we don't get down here in Florida!
  4. I think this is exactley what I'm looking for , you got it : http://www.renosyamaha.com/productdetail.htm?productId=7468589&ez=Star%20Motorcycles%20Jackets~q=bidaa1705zzfidaa212zz~r=~ I'll have to look more into it when I get home tonight from work, thanks !
  5. I fixed the link above, take a look of what I was thinking of
  6. I hear ya. well, let me re-think it, there was times when it was low 60's and I got cold, going up the highway for a hour, by the time I got home upper 50's Also low to mid 50's, fur sure heated vest Anything lower then that, I don't ride, thats why I live in FL, 90% of the time its above 50 All kidding aside, I think the vest gets really used about a dozen times a year. I was thinking of somthing like this even though it says HD http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HARLEY-MENS-2XL-SKULL-NYLON-JACKET-98422-09VM_W0QQitemZ350141340570QQcmdZViewItemQQptZApparel_Merchandise?hash=item51860cdb9a&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
  7. Thanks , but all ready have several. I have probably 5 jackets I was more looking for something like a nylon jacket, wind breaker. I need something that rolls up and stores easy in the saddlebags, as most of the time, it will just sit in the bags. I'm not worried about the armour, I ride all the time in T-Shirts etc. I just need something that breaks the wind, and stores easley, thanks
  8. Now that we are into 90+ degree weather here all ready ( Florida ), I don't have a good light motorcycle jacket to wear. I have several motorcycle jackets, leathers, and mesh, but none of them seem to carry well in the bike. They take up allot of room when not using them. The mesh jackets work great, but with all the armour inside, there hard to fold up. Even with them removed, there still bulky, take up half my saddle bag I was out riding for Little while tonight, and this Harley rider was getting gas at the same time I was, and He threw on a light HD Motorcycle jacket. It was perfect, he pulled it outta his saddle bags, and I could tell just from the material, it was probably fleece inside, and a light material outside, or something like that, and it looked comfortable, and was rolled up nicely when he removed. HD always seems to have nice appeal, all though it's expensive Any suggestions for an all around light weight jacket, for carrying around in the summer time, to throw on maybe on a chilly night while out riding? I ALWAYS carry my heated vest, so If the temp drop down into the lower 60's at night, I could throw the heated vest on low, under the jacket Thanks for your help. Seems I have a ton of jackets, but there all to heavy to carry for here in FL for just a throw on when it gets chilly at night
  9. Wow, thank you both. Steve just sent me the link for the 17th, I plan on going for sure Thanks again
  10. **** UPDATE**** We now have the bike about a month, and put 2,000 miles all ready on her, and loving our new bike Upcoming planned trips are : Naples, FL : Memorial Day weekend Helen, GA & the Smokies : June, date TBD So far we went to GA, Ferdina Beach, St Augustine, Vero Beach, Leesbugh biker event, and have a few up coming trips ahead I still need to put a luggage rack on the bike, and also some running lights
  11. Can somone tell me if there is a place for local riders in your area to post upcoming events, rides etc? We are heading to Naples, FL for Memorial Day weekend, and wanted to post somthing maybe we could meet up with some local riders in the area over the weekend Is there a place to post upcoming rides etc on here ?
  12. Thanks, looks great! I love Custom Dynamics, there LED's are the best by far. I'll be adding their 150 LED Goldwing kit to my bike withen the next month, and light it up. I wish they made the "Ring of Fire" for the Ventures like they do for the Goldwings
  13. FYI, great post CMIK, when your talking about flash rates, they only effect the turn signals. I'm not sure if that was in your post, if it was sorry for mentioning it again. When you add Load equalizers, the only down fall to them is they add more of a load to the electrical system, rather then Custom Dynamics Flashers, which will not. Last year I went through this on two bikes, and felt the same way, I had hundreds of dollars into all kinds of LED's etc, and spent the extra money for the load equalizers. Now I just buy the electronic flashers, and they work the same, without adding an additional load to the system. I also just bought and hooked up there Knight Riderz LED strip, and I have to say, it works great. Do you have pics of your bags with the non sequential LED strips used for the sides of your bags? I would love to see how everything came out
  14. You can make the rear turn signals stay on all the time, and act as running lights also for more rear visibility if you want, but you'll need one of these: http://www.customdynamics.com/loadequalizer.htm
  15. I was out at Leesburgh biker event this past weekend, and Custom Dynamic's was there as always with their trailer set up. I bought their LED Night Riderz RUN/BRAKE strip, which I have to say, when I saw it, it was extremely bright, and for $26.00 bucks, I had to try it. It took less then 15 min to install, and looks awesome ! It has a LED light that goes back and forth like Night Rider in RUN mode, and when you hit the brake, it flashes 5 times, before staying lite. I mounted mine right under the license plate, on the reflector, and it is perfect. I'm next going to buy their light bar for under the trunk. Here's the link to their LED strip I just bought, when you open the page, its the first set of 3 videos on top, and the first one to the left, to see a demo. Custom Dynamics did it again! http://www.customdynamics.com/knight_rider_led_light_bar.htm
  16. Thanks, looks like theres about a $50.00 difference between the E3's and the Venoms I'll probabley just go with the Venoms at this point
  17. I'm having troubles finding the Venoms in the stock sizes for the bike
  18. Scroll back a few threads, and you'll see motocycle super stores 10% discount for being a member here. I found they were the cheapest and free shipping. I havn't made up my mind yet either, as I still have about 2k left on the tires , but will need to order some soon here
  19. Yeh 10/4 , thats what the manual says also. thats all the salesmen was trying say I belive also
  20. From what I read in Yamaha's manual, you can use another oil, as long as it meets or exceeds the requirements as specified. I think salesmen was more thinking of the lines of when you add oils with the additives, it could possibly damage the clutch From everything I read on here, Am soil and Mobil 1 seemed to be the choice of oils. I'm real comfortable running Mobil 1 in the bike, so from now on, I'll just run that
  21. How about the hardness of the ride between the E3's and the Venoms ? I noticed the E3's rear are 77H on the rear @ 40 psi The Venoms are a 80H @ 50 psi I'm not used to running a rear tire at 50 psi, does it make it a harder ride, or give the bike more of a bounce ?
  22. Interesting enough, I went to the Yamaha ( Dealer ) today, and asked them how much for their oil, and filter that the manufacturer recommends using on the RSV. When I mentioned using other oils in the bike, they replied right away, that the first thing they ask someone when they come in, complaining about clutch slippage, what oil are they running. He replied most of the time, they catch the customer off guard, and they reply regular automotive oil. Right away, he replies that just voided the warranty on their bike. I then went into a 20 min conversation about using Syn oils, such as Mobil 1 etc, and if their was engine failure such as bearings etc, what that void the warranty. He had mentioned to his belief that they would have to point the know cause of the engine failure to the lack of, or wrong oil being used. I asked how would they know. He replied on larger failures such as complete engine, or major engine failure due to the wrong oil they believe may be the cause, they send it out to a lab, to show the results. I asked does this happen often......He said once in all the years he's been working there, he recalled, but is not surprised it doesn't happen more often, because the number one mistake is customers use the oil with the additives in them. Does this somewhat make sense, or was this guy just blowing smoke you think?
  23. I just bought motocycle 4 stroke oil racing 4T 10W-40 oil for $8.95 a qt at wallmart
  24. Thanks for the heads up. I will keep that in mind for the next time, as he all ready bought the pads. I just bought Mobil 1 today, as I couldnt find anything else really for the bike in the local stores. They charged me $15.00 just for the oil filter
  25. You got it buddy, and hope to see you back on the road soon hear Drop me a line, and I'll ride the new bike over one night this week mdelano@cfl.rr.com Great chatting with you
