  1. Thats ok, I apprecaite the advise Ken, but I'm not to concerned about it, as I just want to add lights to the back of the bike, to light the back up Thank you for the links, I've ordered alot of stuff from Custoum Dynamics, and they run a first class operation
  2. Great job ! Can you post some links to what you bought, I'd like to buy this set up, I love it
  3. I cant find where your talking about. Do you mind posting a link so I can see where the header is coming from?
  4. We are picking up our 2007 RSV this Wednesday, and I planned on adding some modes to the bike within the first month. Some things I wanted to add were the driving lights ( Light-bar ) . I added a light-bar on my VTX, and are familiar with wiring, relays etc. Is it hard to do on the RSV? I'm assuming the tank comes off etc? Also I planned on adding luggage rack. I noticed Yamaha makes a nice one for the bike, is that what you would recommend? I also plan on adding some LED's to the bike. About 200+ plus, so I'll be removing the gas tank, to light the engine, and running some up front of the bike, plus in the rear under the saddle bags. Any threads on this, so I can get some ideas for the placements of the LED's? Exhaust - Not sure on this one yet. I had 4 different exhaust systems on the VTX before liking the one I had. I'm looking for an exhaust system Little over stock, Little rumble down the road, but not loud enough to give the wife a headache when we take long trips, 300 miles + in a day Here was my last bike, before and after, so you can see I'm comfortable with working on bikes: http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/fltekdiver/cropped.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/fltekdiver/IMGP0305.jpg AND Here's MY GW with the LED's I added: http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/fltekdiver/Ledsbike.jpg
  5. Thanks everyone, you all been great here Tony, I have 8,800 miles on the bike, and I questioned the owner about the tires, as there hard to tell how much thread is left. In the middle there more flat then the outter edges. If I had to guess, I would say they have another few thousand on them, but not sure I've owned a couple of full dressers, including a GW. I think that has helped with the turning and comfort level of this bike. ON the GW for example, I couldn't;t flat foot the bike , which in the begging It really bothered me, tip-pee toeing a 800lb bike at stops riding 2-UP. But I got used to it. For some season , the RSV is .30 tenths higher, which is a 1/4" higher then the GW, which is nothing, but I can easily flat foot the RSV. My whole riding position on the RSV is perfect. I never owned a bike that fit me so well Were really looking forward to picking it up Wednesday, and enjoying the bike I'm also watching a few auctions right now for the driving lamps for the front, and a luggage rack for the rear
  6. Nice bike Can I ask where you got your rear passenger arm rest? Also do you have a close up pic of them? Sorry, didnt mean to highjack the thread, but I think my wife would like those
  7. 9. ha, figures somone would catch that What do you expect when somones this excited, lol
  10. We sure did. It was allot of work, finding the right bike, a price that we felt comfortable paying for in todays market, and it turns out the bike went up on Cycle trader yesterday, and was only 45 min away We were looking at bikes anywhere from Florida, ( Where we live ) to Texas, to Canada, Arizona, we were ready to travel to buy the right bike. I was very lucky to have found such a gem. The owner took such good care of the bike, and its so clean, I'm afraid to ride it, as it's in just such beautiful condition. We can't wait, I love the feel and looks of this bike! A very good friend of mine, who I do a ton of riding with, told me about this bike a few months ago, as he has owned two of them. I was so stubborn at the time, and didn't want anything but a HD Ultra Classic, Thats all I focused on getting. We to find out, the RSV really is the perfect bike for us right now, has all the bells and whistles we were looking for like CB , cruise control, a bike with a fuel gage, wow, no more running out of gas!
  11. I was thinking of that when I posted it. I'll get some tomorrow, he only lives 45 min away
  12. Well great news !! I HEARD the Blue/Black RSV can keep up with that super fast Black mid night Venture, so we just bought one ! We just came home, and found a 2007 RSV thats blue/black, with 8,800 miles on it, for $11,000.00 ! ( Buyer was asking $12K ) The bike was spotless, looks like it just came outta the showroom ! I took my first ride tonight before leaving the deposit on the RSV, and what a great smooth running bike ! Lots of power, engine was smooth as silk, easy to turn, I had to make a U-Turn, and went into a full lock on the steering wheel, and no problem, that bike is easy to maneuver. I can also flat foot the bike with no problems at 5'9" I also heard the stock pipes for the first time, and they have a slight little rumble to them, which I just love ! The bike came with the saddlebag chrome wrap around guards, drivers backrest, highway pegs, and a full tank of gas! I can't wait to pick it up next week, were so excited ! http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/fltekdiver/94912273_3thumb_550x410.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/fltekdiver/94912273_1thumb_550x410.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/fltekdiver/94912273_2thumb_550x410.jpg

  15. Here my 2005 Honda VTX before and after, some mods I did to it: http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/fltekdiver/IMGP0403.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/fltekdiver/IMGP0305.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm200/fltekdiver/IMGP0312.jpg
  16. Dosn;t look like anything any other bike would or may have. A couple of loose screws, maybe some grease, alittle whine somtimes, but if thats it, I can deal with that
  17. Can anyone give me just a short run down on what to expect for maintenance on a RSV? For example, we are looking for a RSV, and found a 2002 for $6,000.00 with 27K miles on it. Then we found a 2005 with 40K miles on it for $7,000.00 We are also looking for 2006 and newer, but we may consider something with Little more miles and a year or two older then a 2006, to offset the price of $10K for a 2006 What I don;t want to happen is, I buy a 2002 or a 2005 with 30k-40K, and find out I need to spend several thousand on the bike for routine maintenance because of the miles. Then we would be better off just bitting the bullet now, and spending $10K on a newer bike, and enjoy it and ride it. Thanks for your help, as we are eager to buy a RSV after owning several other cruiser and touring bikes.
