  1. Trunk, fairing, antenna and mounting, radio, intercom, CB only 20 pounds? I was thinking that if it is true that the frame is different then that could explain why they are so close. Just very curious.
  2. I was looking at the specs for these two bikes and it struck me very odd that the RSV was only about 20 pounds heavier, does that sound right? It also appears that a different frame is used between the two, is that correct also?
  3. paint thinner (mineral spirits) removes most adhesives and it is cheap
  4. Handiwipes, travel size toilet paper, aspirin. Depending on whether you are camping and the overnight temperatures a single burner camp stove to heat up some tea or soup to get your core body temperature warmed up can be very nice. Rain gear, a couple different weights of riding gloves. If you don't have a drink holder consider a Camelback to keep you hydrated while riding. Lycra long johns. Mag light flashlight. Ziplock bags for the small stuff, other bags to compress to get your packing tight.
  5. Question on the straightening of the engine protection bars by foot; Do you take the cowl off first or just press away?
  6. I don' think I saw anyone mention Spam. Used to get it as a kid once in awhile (probably before pay day). In Seattle they have a version of Marti Gras called Fat Tuesday and they have a Spam carving contest. Raw Moon Snails right off the beach was taught to me by a Phillipino, very tasty. Got a mess of Sea Slugs scuba diving once, if you take them out of water they turn into snot, the idea is to clean them in the water and get a strip of meat that when it is cooked is the size of one of the miniature corn cobs, but very good. Someone else mentioned pickled pigs feet, a regular at my Grandmother's house, and when she visited her relatives in North Dakota at "the farm" she would always bring back head cheese. Went to a church that was a Sweedish spin off of the Lutheran church and got exposed to Lutefisk (fish dissolved in dye in a cheese cloth bag). Hawaiians like Poi but it tasted like Elmer's glue to me. Any insects in chocolate sound great for dessert.
  7. I live in Glendale north of the 101, just got a Venture Midnight. Love to do some riding.
  8. I just got at Venture RS but it was missing the CB antenna. The dealer price is high, any alternatives?
