I mounted mine to the venture bracket with rubber in between,save some trouble have a painter match paint and spray it,stay away from color rite,i have mine on for four years now all is good.Good luck -
I have tried there overpriced paint and learned a very hard lesson.The customer service dept is not something they can brag about.

I put round rubber washers under mine drill couple holes for mounting,drill the metal plate that bolts in the bottom of the tour pac,if yours did not come with one there only 15.00 from harley.The one i put on came off a 2007 ultra.Mine has been on for four years now with no issues works great,glenn -

Well as it happens i was looking for one to replace my worn out kuhmo and ran across these.I was looking at my 97 and the metzler has a crack around both side walls only 2000 miles so now i need 2.

Thanks,i have used dino oil from day one,have not tried anything but lucas and it did nothing for the noise.I have a 97 rstc and there is not a sound,i am sure yamaha could tone them all down but its all about what it would cost.I havent found a dealer that knows what an i basket is.

How do you find a dealer to replace the basket.I have been to two dealers was told the same thing,there all that way.I called yamaha they said dealer knows best.I called another dealer they said they would ride the bike if not covered 50.00 to say no.

Yamaha will have there own story but the piston looks to have had water in it for some time looking at the pits,hard to say with pics but this will be covered.The inside looks clean and over speed would streach rod bolts.The wrist pin is ok,they will or should replace or short block,if not lawyer up. -

color rite paint is a pain if the paint does not match,its all your fault,you mail it back and they give you the run around.I made that 200.00 mistake.The paint store matched better and cheaper by 150.00.I used paint store paint and clear no issues at all.I wont waste my money again.
