  1. Photos from the Sixth Annual Fun Day in Fort Myers April 10, 2010 to benefit the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Always the first Saturday after Easter.
  2. There is a 2005 Midnight Venture on the Fort Myers Craigslist with 2500 miles for $9000 obo. Thats a pretty good deal if you are still looking. If I remember correct though, I think you prefer a different color than the black. I can tell you from experience the midnights are PIA to keep clean (but look really nice when they are). rstddog
  3. The original installed clutch baskets for the Royal Stars 99 and UP, Vmax and Venture 1983 and up are all the same. There was a part number supsercede around 2000 but not significant, the original part beginning in 83 is 26H-16150-00-00 Primary DrivenGear Comp (clutch basket) the number changes to and is currently 26H-16150-01-00. I'm not sure what the benefit would be other than minor tolerance differences. A used one might be worn alittle differently and may be quieter or louder. My warranty paperwork says the basket they installed for the whine fix is 4XY-16150-09-00 (I still have audible whine and Jetsons Chirp) The early Royal stars 96-97 have different model code inthe part number 4NK-16150-00-00 and not sure what is different about these or if they will interchange. I had a great post with all the part numbers for the various years and models and a great explanation on how the Yamaha part numbers work, but forum timed out before hitting the submit button and all was lost. Whatever the time limit is that makes you log back in when you hit submit isn't long enough for detailed posts, particularly when looking up cutting and pasting info from another website (inthis case yamaha parts look up). It said hit the back button to reload page but the page was gone. No time to re do it. I know this occurs on most sites and typically I crtl C to copy just in case but didn't this time. Anyhow you can look up the various years and see the part numbers at yamaha-motor.com (also at starmotorcycles.com) RSTDdog
  4. Good time, Good cause, only 4days left. a Meet and Eat with a goal if you will!!! Info in the prior posts. If you are anywhere close its worth the ride. Thanks! Derrek
  5. Thanks for all the responses. I had a Corbin seat on my ST1100 and really liked it, but I was also 10-15 years younger then too. I have located a used Corbin?comfort cruise seat driver and pillion for $275. looks to be in good shape from the pictures. In the ad it says its a Corbin "gel" seat. Looks like the one on the Yamaha Star website but they don't say anything about gel in the description there. If I buy it and like it but the wife hates it, well enough said there, I m back to square one. I know every one is different where seats are concerned so trying to get an idea. I have looked at the Russell day long. Looks nice and I like the idea of it being custom but a little pricey. Of course if I buy the Corbin and don't like it, then its money to put toward a more expensive option. If people in general don't like them(the corbin for the TD) that makes it harder to re-sell too if it doesn't work for me. Thanks again for the feedback RSTDdog
  6. Either the Yamaha iteration or directly from Corbin (Corbin makes Yamaha's accessory seat). Who has one on their TD, Do you like it, and is it an improvement over the stock seat for the driver and the passenger (important)? Thank You rstddog
  7. Glad you figured it out. 2nd Generation Ventures would be the better forum here to ask your question. That forum is venture specific questions and there are more Venture owners than tour deluxe owners and that forum consequently gets more traffic and you'll probably get a quicker response to boot. 8. Congratulations! I have the 06 midnight as well. I love it. The midnights are great looking bikes. Gets a lot of compliments. Takes a little time to get all the chrome clean though. Enjoy the ride! rstddog
  9. I found a Tour Deluxe backrest on craigslist for a $100 and I plan on modifying that one to take a trunk. So far I have found everything on craigslist. Just takes a little time. There is thread here by a guy who was making a tour bracket that connects to the stock quick connect. Not sure what happened, I think he had an injury set him back on manufacturing. The thread is probably only one or two pages back I'll look and see if I can find it. A Search on tour pak and trunk will find most of threads on this subject. On edit: I see you found the one guy who makes them from the backrest mount. Here http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=35033 is the guy that was making a custom mount. rstddog
