WOW....I had no idea. Eileen and I actually stopped at Tilley's HD in Statesville on the way home from Hilton Head today. There was no indication of any kind of this news. Really sorry to hear it.

We had a great time with the two of you. Got away about 7:00 this morning and rode approximately 400 miles to Beckley, WV. We are settled in here for the night and then 300 and some odd miles home tomorrow. Humidity at Hilton Head when we left this morning was 100%. Other than that, we've had great weather.

Thanks for the reminder Eck. Eileen and I have been riding all day and just checked into a hotel room. Remembering that this is the Remembrance Of day makes it even more special. My prayers for the families of those that we have lost.

We have a Sunset Dinner Cruise on Thursday evening that departs from Harbour Town inside Sea Pines and will have to take a taxi. I wonder if you pulled up to that gate in a Slingshot if they would let you through?

I would be seriously surprised if it is the valves. I would suspect maybe a bad coil. For whatever reason, it is not uncommon for the right rear coil to go bad. Many here, including me, had to replace that coil.

Mike, Did it do this before you synched the carbs?

Wish I had a clue what could be causing that Puc but I just don't. I promise that you will be in our prayers also. I can't even imagine you becoming abnormal.

Really sorry to hear of your ordeal Eck. You are pretty lucky still....it could have turned out much worse. Hope you heal quickly. Dang man....haven't I said to do as I say and NOT as I do.

No problem riding the bike to and on the island. There are a lot of private residential areas on the island where motorcycles are not allowed but no problem on the island in general. As far as what part we are on? Heck I don't know. South? Just off South Forest Beach Drive.

Well after not being able to get away and make it to the NY Rally, Eileen and I decided that we HAD to get away for a few days. We hopped on the bike and rode down to Hilton Head for a few days. Will be here until next Saturday. Doesn't look like we have any members here on the island but would be nice to meet you if you are. Took it nice and easy on the way down. Only about 800 miles but we made it a two day ride. Got a couple hundred miles of rain and then it got VERY hot for the last part of the trip but it is all good. The Road Glide did just fine. Gas mileage comparable to the RSV. Riding two up, pulling the Bushtec which is pretty heavily loaded and a fair amount of hills, averaged about 38 MPG running between 75 and 80 most of the time.

I use Google for all my domain registrations and they have been fine. For hosting, I use Knowhost.com for VentureRider.org and for Touringhogs.com. I use Site5 for a couple others. Both are excellent hosts. I agree that Frontpage is a good editor for beginners but I don't think it is on the market any longer and hasn't been for several years. It is fine if you can find a used copy somewhere.

The cassette deck has absolutely nothing to do with any of those things. You HAD to have knocked something loose or something like that.

No, it doesn't. It tries to resize the picture but when they are TOO big, it times out and fails. No explanation or anything.

At this point, I'm not at all sure what caused it. Had to rebuild the database to get it back. There is a suspicion that it was caused by somebody trying to upload attachments to the classifieds that were WAY to large. It is not the first time. People try to upload HUGE pictures that cause the upload to fail. The maximum picture size is 640 x 480 and no more than 200,000 bytes but some folks either forget or don't know how to resize a picture so try to upload pictures that are over a megabyte in size. I've added a note about max picture size to the top of the classifieds. Don't know if that will help or not.

Yes, I caught it almost immediately and was talking back and forth with our service provider. Got it resolved pretty quickly but not before I received about 95 "database error" emails. Don't know what caused it but am trying to figure it out. Hopefully it won't happen again.

What kind of tape did you use? The 3M tape with the red backing is good. Available at most Automotive parts stores. Clean both surfaces with alcohol before putting it on.

That is very strange to me. Like I said, I've seen MANY of these bikes with 100,000 miles and a few closer to and a bit over 200,000. Never heard of one of the transmissions wearing out.
