  1. Dan, that bike DOES have the Dyna 3000. The rev limiter is already set higher than stock. I think I had it set on 7500. That's as high as they recommend unless you install heavier valve springs. It CAN be set higher. Just flip a few of the dip switches.
  2. Somebody will come up with a hitch for it. They have one for the Spyder. I still think there will soon be a "touring" model and it will likely have a hitch.
  3. I'm curious about how many miles you have on the bike? It is strange to hear of the gears going bad. I know of some second gens with 200,000 miles but have never heard of a transmission problem I don't think.
  4. There was no Venture between 93 and 99.
  5. WOW...what a FRIEND. I'll make sure that she knows.
  6. That was Brian being funny. No, it's the Polaris Slingshot. http://www.polaris.com/en-us/slingshot
  7. LOL....I love it
  8. Yea, they also made a 150. There are a few 150s and a 250 on Ebay but they bring big money.
  9. Very nice. I like it.
  10. Do they still make the larger Ruckus also?
  11. I can't say that I've seen it done. I can tell you though that red LEDs will produce more light when put behind red plastic. Always try to match the LED color to the plastic color.
  12. Sorry, I don't know anything about that tire. I did recently read an article that had a bit of interesting information about the history of Shinko tires. They were reviewing a different Shinko tire though that is not related to our sizes. Generally praised the performance but complained about it lasting about half as long as other tires. Like I said though, it is a different tire for a different type of bike. http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle-tires/shinko-verge-review/
  13. The problem with the older Ventures is that parts are not all that common. The dealers can still get many of the actual OEM parts but some have been discontinued. Aftermarket is almost impossible except for Ebay. We have a couple of members here to try to provide some parts but certainly not everything. You can check the "Classifieds" under "Member Vendors" for a bit of help. Skydoc_17 has some stuff. MiCarl usually has some stuff.
  14. I personally think you did the right thing by walking away. I love the old Honda 350s. I've owned a couple of CL350 Scramblers and it's one of my favorite old bikes. I bought one a few years ago that needed NOTHING. Very nice bike. I think I gave 1500.00 for it. Kept it a while and made a very little bit on it but not much. Here is a picture of it exactly as I bought it.
  15. OK...I'm not trying to fuss at you but there is a better way to bookmark threads that you want to save until later. If you click on "Thread Tools" above the first post, then click "Subscribe", it will save the thread in your profile. Then just go to your UserCP and click on "Subscribed Threads" and it will be listed. Hope this helps.
  16. Are you new here?
  17. I have used it for years. Everybody seems to use it differently. I use a can to a full tank of gas before storing it for the winter. Then I use another can to a full tank of gas around mid riding season. That's all. Two cans a year.
  18. I enjoyed that. BUT....were there still blueberries?
  19. My guess is the Slingshot. I'm sticking to it.
  20. Look at the blue header at the top of the posts and you'll see the dates they were posted. This is from 2008.
  21. LOL...I don't even know and not sure I want to.
  22. Thought that some of you might find this interesting. This is for the month of July. Shows how many visits from these countries. TOP COUNTRIES United States 26,950 Canada 5,038 United Kingdom 361 Australia 282 Germany 125
  23. That is true. You said you have a donor motor. Does it have a bad stator also?
  24. If your donor motor is also an 83 or an 83 - mid 85, it will eventually lose 2nd gear as well. You don't want to just swap parts or you will be doing it again. Here is an article that gives you an overview of what you are looking at. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=508 You will need to replace the same parts regardless of which transmission you use.
