That's it...no catch...well...maybe ONE small catch but it's nothing really. All I need you to do in exchange is wax and buff my little boat. That's all. Well...the only other thing is to try and not wake me from my nap if I fall asleep watching you. It's that time of the year and I HATE waxing this thing. Probably be easier if I bought a buffer but I haven't and do it all by hand. I just pulled it out today and it really needs a good cleaning. On another note, if it doesn't sell before maintenance day, I will gladly let somebody use it as a camper if they want to. No A/C but it has a small refrigerator, TV with Neflix active, coffee pot and etc. It has a bathroom but you can't use it because I don't want to have to take it somewhere and pump it out.

Touring Russell should be interesting. I'm anxious to try the one on my new bike. It's only a 225 mile ride home but that should give me an idea if I'm going to like it or not.

Not unusual at all. Just tap it back in and you are good to go. I had one come out. Just tapped it back in and it never came out again. -
OK....leveling links ordered. WOW...and I thought that there was nothing I would be able to add to this bike. I keep remembering things. Will probably forgo the VMax rear and Dyna 3000 for now though.

Well...I haven't even picked it up yet and IT has started. Triple Diamond Cut fins ordered from @eusa1 Also noticed that there is no front fender rail on it...just got that taken care of thanks to Ebay. Working with Nanci, @Luvdaleather on a tank bib and maybe saddlebag lid covers. Things are moving right along.

I have SOS pads and Bleche White in the garage. I'll try them until it's time to replace them but likely won't go back with them. We'll see. I think they look fine but not only do I not look forward to keeping them clean but the tires that I prefer don't come in whitewalls. Maybe I'll change my mind.....we'll see.

No he wasn't. Said that he had visited a few times but was not a member of any online sites or clubs. Seems like a nice guy. He has several bikes including a Road Glide and a Road Star among others. His dad bought this one new and ordered all the chrome and etc. the day he bought the bike. He then had heart trouble though and never got to ride it much. So he bought it from his Dad a couple of years ago but he just hasn't ridden it much either.

Don't know yet but if it does, I'll certainly get hold of you. I THOUGHT it had everything I wanted but somehow forgot a couple of things. Just ordered triple cut diamond fins from @eusa1 and am awaiting information from @Luvdaleather on an integrated tank bib/rear tank chap. Here's the tank bib I'm looking at from Nanci. At least the basic style. Mine will be a bit different in that it will not have studs but some type of braided trim or something.

Yep...I will get right on those rails. Easy enough with a little persuasion from the size 12 boots.

I'll keep that in mind Jack. Thanks.

Very sad indeed. I saw some other pictures and it looked like the Venture was burned pretty good also. The main thing though is that they got out safely. So many memories burned though. Our prayers are with him and him family.

I'm really looking forward to taking delivery. I just got another message from the owner telling me that when he had the Russell seat made, he also had the Utopia backrest and passenger backrest recovered by them also so that it all matches. I hope I like the seat, never had a Russell before. I'll give it a chance. He is about an inch taller than me so it should fit me well.

It was just a pretty good deal. Even has the Wagner Grill Guard and the trunk spoiler. Will have to pick up a tank bib and that's about it. Those white wall tires will have to go but I'll wear them out first.

I just verbally agreed to buy a motorcycle. I'm supposed to pick it up on Friday. I looked at a lot of different things but my heart kept calling me to come back home. So....I'm not going to play any games...the winner is: 2005 Yamaha Royal Star Venture 20,000.00 miles, a custom Russel Day long seat that has heat, Up Graded clutch, aftermarket BUB Mufflers, Clearview Windshield, Tons of Extras. It looks like it has about every piece of chrome that Yamaha offered including the air breather covers. Also has HID lights in the headlamp and the running lights. It has Harley mufflers in the picture but he is also giving me his Bub mufflers. I really don't know that I want them so they will likely be for sale soon. I've never had a Russel seat but will see how it works out. If I don't like it, I will be looking for a Corbin.

So sorry to hear this. The most important thing is of course that the family is safe but it's still so very sad to lose so many precious memories. They will all be in our prayers. -
Anyone know how to delete ads from the classifieds when the scoot sells?
Freebird replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
Click on product options at the upper right of your ad. Then click "sold". It will then delete automatically aver two or three days. -
Yep...that was a good ride.
-
Well that one in Rochester was a deal. I emailed him first thing this morning only to get a reply back that it is sold.
-
Yes, it comes off with the player. Sorry.

Here is a link. Not sure if it's the one you are looking for. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?510-Yamaha-Trunk-Spoiler-Installation -
Yea, I'm not ignoring the question but I have just never had great success with such repairs. There are some repair kits on the market but I'm not sure how ell they work. To prevent them from tearing further, I guess I would remove the cover and patch it from the inside. Just square of as close to matching vinyl as I could find and then some type of adhesive on the back side. Removing the cover is easy enough, you will just need a good stapler to put it back on. That is done all the time. I've done it a couple of times and Rick Butler does it on a regular basis when he does his seat mods.

I tried it also. No problem here.

Well, I just did enough research that I now understand the heat problem. It is NOT water cooled in the way that we all expect. Only the heads are water cooled, they cylinders are just air cooled and that is where the heat is coming from. Same issue with the Harley. Some think that the new Harley is water cooled but it's not and even the head is not water cooled. There is just an area around the exhaust valve that is water cooled on the Harley. I discussed that with the dealer where I bought my Road Glide and he told me that if people traded up to the new one for the reasons of reduced heat, they were going to be very disappointed. He said that it allowed Harley to increase performance a bit but it runs just as hot. So....even though I think that Voyager is a great looking bike....it is off my list.
