No problem. Glad it arrived. You know you have to replace something before you find the old one.

Passenger Pegs

Great job. They look good. Do they fold back? Not sure that they really need to but just wondering. -
I don't plan to buy a travel trailer until the spring at the very earliest but have been trying to do some research about the quality of the various brands. Learning that many are made by the same companies. What I've found so far is that they all seem to be hit or miss. I've read reports that the exact same units, parked side by side, can exhibit huge differences in quality. Every brand I look at, I read horror stories. I guess that Coleman is made by Dutchmen? I see a lot of favorable reports but also the same horror stories that I've mentioned. Same thing with Forest River and most of the others. I suppose Airstream is touted as one of the best but I'm not spending that kind of money when I buy one. Haven't really found a good comprehensive rating site. When I purchase one, it will likely be a late model used one so that I can get the highest end unit for the money that I want to spend. Of course, that leads to more issues that will require a detailed inspection for any water damage, past leaks, etc.

I haven't even looked into it. I'm sure that somewhere, somebody has done so. I tell you, the stereo system is about as good as I've ever seen on a motorcycle. Much better than the first or second gen systems. I'm pretty content with it as is but I know that some folks are much more demanding about the stereos than I am.

Thanks. Haven't seen that before. We'll see if it starts to be a regular issue.

Eck, you know that I've owned two Avalanches, the 1500 and a 2500. I like them a lot. The problem with them here is that they are prone to rust easier than some other trucks on these salt-covered winter roads.
-
That trailer is about the size that we will likely purchase at some point and was the primary reason for buying the truck.

First let me say, I was incorrect about the towing capacity. The 10,100 is for the 4X2 model. Mine is a 4X4 and the towing capacity is 8800 lbs. Payload capacity on the 4X4 is 1530.

Yes, it has the cowhide style. It's the one thing that Eileen wasn't crazy about. She would have preferred a gray interior but it's not available on the 1794. The Platinum is about the same thing in regards to equipment but I saved a good bit of money on this demo. The Platinum, the only difference being the interior color, would have cost several thousand dollars more. I actually like it and she said that she would get used to it.

I've heard good and bad things about the Nissan CVT. We bought it new and it has never needed anything other than routine maintenance and a couple of minor recalls but at 40,000 miles, I wouldn't have expected to see any major issues. This is the first Toyota that I have ever owned but I've always been a fan of them. Often wished I had bought a Four Runner instead of the Murano.

Yes, it's 4X4. That's about all I buy here in Ohio near Lake Erie. It has about everything. Heated and cooled leather seats, adaptive cruise, lane departure warnings, moonroof, etc. Also has the trailering package including trailer brake control and about everything else you can think of. 5.7 V8. Gas mileage won't be great but towing capacity is pretty good. Just over 10,000 lbs. Should do what we need it to. The Murano only had 41,000 miles on it and still had the original tires but was going to need new ones soon. We really liked it but the towing capacity was the issue. The previous generation Muranos had a towing capacity of 4,000 lbs. That would have been all we need at this point but after I bought the 2015, I discovered that they had decreased towing capacity to 1500 lbs. Same engine and transmission so I assume it was due to a softer suspension or something. I don't pull a lot at this time but even the two jet skis put me over the 1500 lb. capacity. In a year or two, we are thinking about buying a travel trailer so wanted something that would pull one.

Went car shopping and the wife ended up with a new set of wheels. Traded her 2015 Nissan Murano. We had both decided that we wanted a truck for various reasons so..... 2018 Toyota Tundra 1794. It was the owner's demo and has 5300 miles on it. I felt that I got a pretty good deal on it. About every option imaginable.

I have that one but one of the screw holes at the top of the bracket is split. It should work fine though. It's yours for the cost of shipping if you want it.
-
OK...I read these posts too early and didn't absorb what you are looking for. I do not have the clear deflector that bolts to the lower part of the fairing. What I have is the clear deflectors that attach below the passing lamps. Sorry.
-
I think I may have one or both. I'll look today. So you don't need the brackets? Just the deflector?

They are now restored.

Darksiding '18 Venture/Eluder

I don't see where it mentions that being a run flat? Not sure if it would matter to me but just curious. $58.00 a tire is certainly a great price. It shows an overall height of 24.9. That should be OK too. Let us know how it works out for you. -
Problem after new stator install

That is a good article that I generally agree with. I stopped trying to argue the point a long time ago because there are those who adamantly believe that you should not get the dielectric grease on any low voltage pins. I've used it for years on the pins of the five audio cables in the fairing of the RSV. Most say to only use it to seal the outer cases so that moisture cannot enter. I have always put a small amount right on the pins and have never had to go back and mess with them again. -
What you are seeing may be perfectly normal. The '83s always indicated that they were running a bit hot. Yamaha recalibrated the gauge after the first or second year.

I remember Harley getting in trouble with the EPA over this issue but the mufflers are still readily available and even on sale and prominently display at most Harley dealers. Of course, now that they no longer put the CATS in the mufflers, I suppose that is their way around it. Putting them in the head pipe though didn't slow anybody down. When I had my '13 Road Glide, replacement head pipes were readily available with the CATS removed. -
I'm not doubting anybody's expertise with radios. I'm certainly not saying that CB is as good as HAM or FRS. I'm simply saying that CB is still the best choice for those who want to communicate with other motorcycles due simply to the fact that more bikers are using CB than anything else. In every group ride I've ever been on, the vast majority of riders that have any kind of bike to bike communication had CB. It does no good to have HAM or FRS if the people you are riding with do not. Most touring bikes that come with bike to bike communication, come with CB. That's just a fact. For better or worse, it's still the standard for bike to bike communication. As for finding a clear channel, we have not had a problem on the rides where we have used it and I've participated on group rides all over the country.

Yea, you are right, I really haven't had much of a chance to try it in the twisties. Only a few miles. I can tell you that it handles fantastic though. I see no downside to it at all. -
Darksiding '18 Venture/Eluder

hmmm....don't know. That link takes me directly to the post about the tire on his '18 Star Venture. I just didn't want to argue about it not being a picture of the '18 Star Venture but it is. Maybe you have to be logged in to Facebook for the link to take you to the post. I'm not sure. One way is to go to the star venture facebook page and then there is a search box. I found it by simply putting the text of the post that was copied here ... in fact, I just entered the tire size that is posted and that post came up. Maybe the picture looks different to you because of the mud flap but I actually compared it to my '18 and though I have a hitch on mine and can't get that exact angle, it is definitely a picture of the Star Venture. Like I said before, the mufflers are one clue and the fact that the drive pulley is on the right side is the second clue. I don't know of another large touring bike with the drive on the right side. Some of the Harley Sportsters do. That and the fact that he says it is a picture of the car tire on his 18 Star Venture.
