Crazy front brake grinding noise
Freebird replied to Treetall's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
All good suggestions but don't overthink it just yet. It is not at all uncommon on the RSV to get some a noise with the front brakes. Some brands of pads are worse than others. A lot of people have removed the pads and just slightly chamfered the leading edge of the pads and that successfully eliminated the noise. -

See this thread for one solution. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?141060-Arm-rests

It is the original seat, only changed the backrest. It's not an absolutely perfect match but close enough not to be noticeable. I love it. There is no specific part number, if you like it, you can just tell them to make it just like mine. That's what I did, I called and asked them to look up the one made for Bucfan and make mine the same.

What is the squelch set on? Lower numbers give you the best reception. I've always run mine pretty high as I just want to talk to other bikes in a group and not pick up all the noise from elsewhere. -
I went with the Corbin passenger backrest. Like it a lot. Had their backrests on my last two RSVs also. My wife just likes a place to rest her elbows and it is great for that. Actually it was Bucfan who had them first and after seeing pictures of his, I went the same route.

One of my good friends in High School was always on a new Bridgestone because his dad was a Bridgestone dealer. He was the only person I knew that actually had one. Not sure how much business he could have been doing. It was a sideline for him anyway as his business was primarily lawn equipment.

Not sure what you are looking for. I assumed the handlebar switches when I read your post but others seem to think you meant the gas cap surround. Please clarify. That being said, I don't remember seeing any covers for the handlebar switches. The Midnights and S models came with chromed housings though. You may have to resort to finding some at a salvage yard if that is what you want.

I'm only assuming that it's in the same location at the Vanture. Here are a couple of pictures that might help. -
If I remember correctly, Squidley had a big problem with Rick's regulator similar to what you are describing. I'm not 100% sure though. It may have been the stator that he had a problem with. As I think about it, I'm almost sure that it was the high output stator from Ricks that he had the problem with.

Seems to ber something about the iPhone and probably the same for the iPad. I never use either to check the forum but just tested it on my iPhone and as you say, no videos show if I just go the the forum using the browser. I then tried it with the TapaTalk app and the videos show up so if it's important to anybody, you need to download and use the TapaTalkk app,.

Most accessories are on the way
Freebird replied to Freebird's topic in Star Venture and Eluder Tech Talk ( '18 - Present)
Here is what I bought. They are available elsewhere also. Shipment was very slow from this seller. Product is fine but I'll warn you that they don't get tight enough and will turn on the highway bars. I, and many others, have drilled holes and put a set screw in them to prevent them turning. https://www.ebay.com/itm/153055009408 https://www.ebay.com/itm/153055067438 -
I wouldn't even bother putting it back together. It won't ruin well with the air box removed but what you described is likely due to the jets being gummed up. I think your only option at this time is to tear the carbs down and clean them very well. Seafoam and other carb cleaners work well if there is any flow at all but it sounds like yours are beyond that point. Here's a pretty good write-up but unfortunately, there are no pictures. https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?54-Carb-Overhaul-on-1st-Gen

We lost one of the funniest entertainers I've ever watched. Whether it was on the Carol Burnett show, movies, or wherever, he always made me laugh. Rest in Peace Mr. Conway. This is a short clip that exemplifies his comedy to me. I laugh every time I see it.

Yea, I'm a little worried about that guy. Please don't leave me alone with him.

Eileen would be the one in charge of any test rides. . As for the good looking passenger, I suppose she is in charge of that also.

I agree with the previous post and a similar one further up. The old will not cause the bike to drop. Not saying that oil leakage is not a serious issue, the dampening is important, but it is not the cause of the bike sitting lower. That would be the air. That being said, there have been MANY of the shocks that have leaked oil but I'm not sure I have ever seen one that has lost air. I would check the air pressure in the shock. If low, pump it up to 35 or so pounds or whatever you run it at and see if it maintains the pressure. If it bleeds off, I would use some soapy wanter and find out where it is leaking. Could be the Schrader valve, hose, or connection at shock.

My wife got her mother's day present yesterday. 2012 model with just over 13,000 miles on it. She has wanted a Camaro ever since they came out again in 2010. If it were for me, I would have held out until I found an SS with the V8 but this will suit her very well. It's the LT1 with the RS package. 325 HP V6. Enough for her and should get around 30 MPG Highway. Wasn't sure about the convertible but it's what she wanted. Last convertible I owned, other than a couple of Jeeps, was a 1978 Triumph Spitfire.

Also, if you decide to go with KuryAkyn grips, they offer their own bar weights that attach to the end but don't use the threaded inserts of the original bars.

I understand you not wanting the headaches of selling it yourself but I think that 3,000 is low for an '07 with 22,000 miles. I think you could get $5,000 without a lot of trouble.
